  • Fuji Superia 400 one of the most overlooked color film stocks on the market. It offers a unique combination of excellent color reproduction, fine grain, and best of all affordability which sets it apart from other Kodak film stocks on the market. This is pretty much the perfect film stock of choice for people who are just getting started in film as you can pretty much it online or in a CVS. With those factors in mind I hope you find this video helpful and give Fuji Superia 400 a go! I hope you enjoy.

    Nice, but of course new film photographers will overlook it. It is no longer available.

    2:06 what an exquisite example of of this roll of film. Well done! I have this film simulation on my x100 camera. It's absolutely gorgeous. It's a mix of Kodak Ultra Max and a film simulation called 1979. Thanks for sharing!

    However, Fuji did replace it with a new 400 ISO film that is made the Kodak just like their 200 ISO file is. Basically to keep their name in the film world Fuji is outsourcing their file for Kodak to produce. They basically make instax file which is where the money is. I don't know if they still make Velvia 100 or they just have enough stock to keep selling for a while. However, there seems little doubt that Fuji is pulling out of file. Their new acros B&W is made for them by Harmond in the UK.

      It's just slightly cheaper Kodak Ultramax 400.

    18 minutes of suffering sounds like you did pretty well :D People out there have no idea how much work it is to put together what may seem like a simple 5 minutes talking head thing...
    anyway, thanks for the detailed review. It was exactly what I was looking for. =)

    I'm sad they discontinued it. I still have 3 rolls. The secret to make this one look great is to overexpose. Fujifilm always has a washed out green tint in the underexposed areas but if you give it enough light, it really pops.

      always gotta give it more light!

    Original Superia 400 was my fave colour film and HP5 for black and white. A real shame it's not madr anymore. Look at any film box or packet, if its "Made in USA" then it's Kodak inside. If you manage to find "Made in Japan" then it's true Fuji.

    • @edshotsdotcodotuk
      @edshotsdotcodotuk ปีที่แล้ว

      No way that the Kodak one employs a 4th layer. Sadtimes.

    • @ThomasBocage
      @ThomasBocage  ปีที่แล้ว

      Def checking where it was made will be important going forward. I am sure there is still plenty of the original Superia 400 circulating in the market. Just going to be marked up a bit unfortunately

    It’s a classic film stock but all the ones you see in stock right now are actually Kodak UltraMax. It looks like it might have gotten discontinued 😢

    Walmart Fuji is not superia anymore, they send Fujifilm 400, which is the neewer (rebranded Ultramax) version of it.
