It is fair to say that they are Pogačar's domestiques. It makes their roles more understandable. Top riders, though!!

great performance, but I just can't get over how ugly this "mankini" design for the skinsuit is...

Yates won but it is clear that, without team orders, João Almeida could've won this.
In yesterday's stage (7th), Almeida still had some power in his legs when he let Yates win.
With the 1st place bonus plus the time that Almeida would've won in yesterday stage, Almeida would've taken the yellow jersey.

Not sure how you work that out - Yates would have got 6 second bonus for finishing second (as did Almeida). So Yates only got 4 seconds by winning yesterday's stage. If Almeida had got the 4 seconds advantage instead (making an 8 second swing), it still wouldn't have been enough as Yates won by over 20 seconds.

Without a doubt UAE Team Emirates will have one of the best teams ever to engage a 3 weeks race !!! Just considered 11 - Tadej Pogacar 12 - Adam Yates 13 - João Almeida 14 - Felix Grossschartner 15 - Marc Soler 16 - Nils Pollit 17 - Mikel Bjerg 18 - Juan Ayuso, And just in case: Rafael Majka , Brandon Mc Nulty , Pavel Sivakov, Isaac del Toro, Marc Hirschi, Damen Novak, Rui Oliveira, Tim Wellens, Juan S.Molano, Ivo Oliveira, Jan Christen, Alessandro Covi, António Morgado , for the tour de France and the vuelta Espana even with the Olympics between UAE could present 2 of the best squads ever to participate in a 3 week race!

The abrupt finish at the end of the video seems a bit unnecessary. The highlights programme on Discovery + failed to show the medal ceremony and the final results. Better editing required. Otherwise enjoyed the live coverage.

Can someone explain why Adam is so good now but was so mediocre when he was younger?

Cycling into his prime, not all are Pogacar, Vingegaard… but then again Vingegaard is not close to Pog in terms of his palmares.
