I saw Igor again not too long ago and I think it still holds up. Sure it's not pretty but that's kind of the point. It's an ugly world where evil is celebrated and kindness is bad, it really highlights Eva's inner beauty as the only kind sweet person in that world.
For years I thought Igor wasn't a real movie, and that I had somehow misremembered another movie . I went on thinking it didn't actually exist for years, until 2018, when I saw it on redbox.
When I saw this movie, I couldn't but wonder what was Scamper's story before he met Igor? Suddenly, I came up with a tragic backstory for him and why he's constantly wanting to unalive himself... Scamper started as a beloved pet for the unplanned daughter of King Malbert. She loved him as much as he loved her. The two were inseparable... That is until they've gotten the news from the doctor, she doesn't have that long to live (thanks to King Malbert's weather machine), so she spends the rest of her life with Scamper. Despite the fact that she's keeping a brave face to not worry him, Scamper could tell that she was getting weaker and weaker. When she "got cold", Scamper couldn't imagine a world without her... so he played into busy traffic. About a few (or so) years later, Igor dug Scamper up for a science experiment (which Scamper hated from the start). By the near end of the movie (where they learned more about the weather machine), Scamper had a change of heart when he electrocuted himself while dismantling it. For a brief moment, Scamper was reunited with his owner/best friend who had an important message for him: "Thank you for being there in my life. Now, go and enjoy yours...." Then, he woke up all singed. Brain (as always) was confused about this due to Scamper's immortality.
I'll be honest. My favorite character was the rabbit and his pet plant. That was honestly a thoughtful gift from Eva. And something about her singing fight scene was cool to me.

And for the 2000s, we had Die Another Day, Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace. MGM is pretty much The James Bond 007 Studio and their attempts to make other movies often bomb. I feel your pain man
Is Igor a common name outside the US? 🤔 it never occurred to me that anyone had that name. (At least recently)
You’ve said a lot about this movie but aside from the animation, it doesn’t sound bad.
The animation is supposed to be ugly snd grimy, it's the setting, he's pissed off he can't make body pillows of the characters, like dude, it's not SUPPOSED TO TURN YOU ON.
Who else is looking through the comments to see everyone else's opinion on this?
Schadenfreude in German means pleasure derived from someone else’s misfortune, fyi
Honestly I don't see why people don't like this movie I actually love it
It’s crap, buts it’s good nostalgic crap
@@monroe7532 honestly I dont get much nostalgia from it as all I remember from a child was the McDonald's toys. I genuinely just like the movie and its themes of overcoming oppression. Also the suicidal cynical rabbit just has a nheialistic charm to me
April Mustoe those short animations done by students in college are better than Igor
@@cherryspice1011 short college animations are incredible because of the freedom ofcourse they're better
Same it's so nostalgic
I remember being absolutely OBSESSED with this movie
I do remember two MGM movies from the 2010s: Skyfall and Spectre.
You should’ve specified “What MGM movies do you remember from the last decade that aren’t James Bond?”.
And for the 2000s, we had Die Another Day, Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace.
MGM is pretty much The James Bond 007 Studio and their attempts to make other movies often bomb.
They also made The Hobbit Trilogy but it was a co-production with Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema.
You can’t tell me that the Blind orphan’s singing was dark enough to make you giggle. Also that “cat” is my spirit animal. Man I loved this movie as a youngling.
Idk man that fly seems to me to be a reference to the original The Fly from the 50's (not the one with Jeff Goldblum) where a teleporter goes wrong and leaves the scientist with the head and arm of a fly and a fly with the head and arm of the scientist. Which, honestly? A really neat detail.
And I have to wonder if the Invisible Man not having pants is to point out that literally during all of his antics in the original movie, he's bare naked. Literally, naked as can be in the English winter
that’s where you’re wrong, nick, I do remember igor.
There's been so many times when I remembered fragments of this movie but not the title, plot, or character names whatsoever
Also, this looks SO much worse than I remember
When the movie is dark compared to when sun light is showing that’s like when you turn on your phone first thing in the morning it’s too bright
King: no one has created life
Igor : omfg I made the monster live I'm so smart no one has ever done this before
Brian:
I really don’t appreciate you guys bringing back memories that deep.
I remember this a while back, pretty underrated gem.
I agree
Video proceeds to be about how shitty the movie is
@@SexGod225 He mostly talks about the visuals, and you should not hate something based on visuals unless it is really distracting, he's only one person too.
Will Gold he also talks about the plot and pacing. I was only saying this because I thought it was ironic, not because I think Nick has the ultimate say so on film. But honestly I didn’t even remember the plot to this movie until this video, I just remembered the little guy
Bro how are you everywhere!?
"You dont remember ant bully" I do
"You don't remember planet 59" I do
"This is from your childhood" What is?
24 Frames: Igor was made my the same person who made Emoji Movie
*DogLover.exe has stopped working*
apart from coraline, this was probably my favorite childhood movie uvu
Those were the best movies I've seen as a child tbh, I loved them a LOT
Also;

They showed this once at an after-school/preschool program I used to go to and I had absolutely no idea what the hell was going on
"Igor,but backwards"
Rogi
HERE YOU ARE AGAIN! WHY R U EVERYWHERE
I...I loved that movie as a kid...I haven’t seen it since but I remember watching it sooo many times and requesting that my mom turn it on
How dare you. This movie could only have sprung from the mind of GOD HIMSELF.
i don’t know what’s giving me the bigger nostalgia high-this delicious mess of an Emoji Movie prequel, or your boppin choice of MySims build mode music in the background
