Honestly, when so many other review sites yell, it's nice once in a while to have a slightly more passive aggressive review. Don't get me wrong, I still love Nostalgia Critic and AVGN to this day, but sometimes someone "not in character" is nice too :D
What I hate the most about this movie is that it missed the point of the Addams family as a whole, Morticia for example is supposed to be a sweet caring open minded woman who has no issue associating with people different from her, in this movie though she wants to keep her family isolated from the rest of the world to the point of coming off as manipulative. It's saddening to see these classic characters treated this way.
Ikr, they completely ignored Wednesday's Character. Eg: She wouldn't wear something so... So colourful... So like basically she also wouldn't have any problem associating with anyone different but she wouldn't be so influenced to become the person. Like, when she went to the camp thing in Addams Family Values. She didn't become normal! Like wtf
Honestly it shoulda been the neighbors having a conflict with them but them having no conflict with neighbors. Its about a family who cannot fit with social norms, the moral being that they are proud of that fact. I feel like that would have been an intriguing story. Sad to see the movie didnt do well i used to like the shows as a kid.
That's whole ass lie 😂 In this movie she actually still associates with people Wednesday Is rebelling against her in a very teenager like way. She still wanting to protect her family like all addams do. If you ever watch the TV show the one that they got wrong is Gomez who is strictly for isolating the children He hates people and is the complete opposite of Morticia He never wants to be social You guys are a whole bunch of posers lol.
@@ameer781 uh no, she is very against her family associating with anything or anyone from the outside, she allows it to happen, but she's not happy about it at all. There is an exchange where Gomez admits eating cotton candy when he was younger was a mistake, and Morticia seems disgusted that he did, that's something very out of character for both of them. In the original series he has welcomed guests to his home and is even a lawyer and multi billionaire with many businesses around the world, there is never any indication that he or his family deliberately try to isolate themselves from society, it's more society stays away from them.
Can we also talk about how they completely changed the characters of Morticia and Gomez from being invested in their kids interests and insanely proud of them in everything they do, even when they don't approve of those interests, to one of the main plot points being both of them having no pride in their children and disapproving of them so much that they feel the need change them and complain about them behind their backs? That was the BIGGEST and WORSE change that this film made to the Addams Family story and its criminal.
I don’t even critique movies but when I saw the character models; especially Wednesdays. I was like wtf?!? Y do these guys look like aliens. Also, pugs lie is wayyyyy too short for me at least.
That and how disapproving Morticia was of Gomez throughout the whole movie when they're supposed to be the couple that constantly supports and love one another
What the fuck? I only remember seeing the trailer and not thinking much of it but being excited for Adam's Family content... And I talked again to my partner about how much we love their family dynamic, how much they love and support each other.... So to find out now that.. this movie didn't even maintain THAT. How can you ruin the characters themselves in such a way....
my biggest thing was the character designs eithier being too skinny, or too fat. squashed head or long skinny head. and the big bad boss lady had her terrible design of, "HUUUGE hair! pointy feet, small head with even smaller face!" is just annoying. edit : thanks for the likes :D
I glanced at the screen when my friend was watching this movie and saw the girl Wednesday became friends with, and for a minute I honestly thought she was some weird fish creature. I didn't think much of it since I wasn't really paying attention and I mean, it's the Addams Family, I thought she was Wednesday's failed mutation experiment or something.
okok but everyone is either stick or ball BUT the big bad boss lady has that pixar mom physique with the wide curvy hips like???? what is UP with that lmao
@@rodrigocoockiemonster4460 The thing is that they still don't stand out. When one character is weird and goofy then they stand out, but when everybody is weird and goofy then nobody stands out. Imagine Despicable Me but with a single Minion, you'd learn about that character and come to like/dislike him, but since there's actually hundreds of Minions that all look almost completely identical you just see a jumbled mess of colours and noises, and none stick out at all.
Sounds like he is rebooting the show for netflix so it's all good. Always thought he shoulda directed the original movies. But now we get to have both hopefully haha. Loved the movies and original tv show, one of my favourites.
The Addams Family movies and comics were the equivalent of a slice-of-life anime. No main goals, no save-the-day, just the family and their wacky antics.
I really didn't like the background characters but the family's designs were based off the original addams family comics. You dont have to like them, but there was thought put into it. I personally respect that.
@@meesh4553 And the old designs are dated and ugly as heck. Artistic tastes have changed in the last 90 years, and so has the Addams Family. The design no longer embody what we think of the characters.
Its honestly the characters that are supposed to look "normal" (aka the ppl who arent the adams family) that look the worst to me. theyre either super bland looking just with one thing abt them made cartoonishly disproportionate to create the illusion of style or theyre downright disgusting. I dont like Wednesday's design because she looks like someone stretched out a piece of white gum to me, but the rest of the family is okay and I like that they tried to use their og comic design even tho I wish that they made the movie 2d in that case.
Gomez looks like a pug. Uncle fester is knock off Gru. Wednesday is a popsicle. Pugsley is Bubbles from the Powerpuff Girls. Morticia looks like when I peel a potato. And the grandma is the witch from Brave.
There is one scene in particular that made me know this movie was going to suck from one of the trailers: the hair clip. In the scene Morticia is shocked that Wednesday is wearing a "girly girl" pink unicorn hair clip, which is just a slap in the face of the original character. One of the things that was always great about the Addams family is that they are _super accepting_ of other people and their ways, they are always polite and accommodating treating others the way they would want to be treated. This is well portrayed in one of the films when it appears their third child is "normal" and not like the rest of them and tried to raise him as like a normal baby is raised until his inner Addams came out. Contrast this to 2019 Addams family in which this Morticia is a typical spooky character repulsed by cute things, while the real Morticia would have been supportive of Wednesday's choices regardless of whether she understood them or not.
I mean it makes sense sorta, there was an episode of the OG show where Pugsley becomes a boy scout and Gomez and Morticia are horrified as well as Fester, also considering the context of the film
Yes! This is exactly what I thought when I watched even the trailer. The Addams Family has always been more unusual, but they wouldn’t care if someone wanted to be ‘cutesy’ or happy. They’d care about how others expressed themselves, especially someone in their own family
Ironically, the Adams family didn't originally necessarily keep the people out on purpose... When people came they were hospitable and nice in their own cooky crazy way, they were well-mannered, polite, and courteous, all of them. People avoided them like the plague coz they were WEIRD. There used to be another Adams Family show when I was a kid and I remember clear as day that the Adamses were nice and friendly, just didn't approach people unless they needed to, coz y'know, introverts and knowing personal boundaries!
I remember watching an episode where the Soviets wanted to visit a real American family and randomly picked them and the American general or something tried to convince them to pick another family because they were weird.
The Adams family should only be remade in theses 3 ways: •Tim Burton’s stop motion style •a 1950’s rubber hose style •a musical (yes I know there is one already.)
Despite how "creepy" the Addams Family are supposed to be, I almost feel like I'd feel safe around them in real life. They really do love and care about one another, and they are so supportive. They're oddballs, but they feel like a perfect family. This movie gives me NONE of those safe, happy feelings. I feel like these characters would actually hurt me.
Tim Burton has the aesthetic to make good live action movies and animated ones too. Even adoptions are good when we talk about him. This movie just makes people upset.
All of the characters are too porcelain. Morticia's creepy factor is how she looks so PORCELAIN. None of the characters feel creepy. They have no creepy factor.
I always just got the vibe that the Adams family just kept to themselves. Not out of fear or safety, they just believe in homeschooling and not spending money on going out when they can make their own fun and home cooked meals. Other people may have a problem with them but they NEVER have a problem with other people. They never go looking for a fight and the comedy arises when the villain tries to kill them and they take it all as good fun
It honestly makes me mad when i see a character from this movie. I understand ugly characters but characters like the long head white girl are just weirdm
that was just more confusing than anything else. shouldn't they be hands? but like, a woman's hands? and why does the Addams family own a laptop? that's so not their aesthetic.
@@leviticus2001 you sure about that? Yes they're too much here, but it's the live action actors mixed with the old comic style. I fucking hate this movie, but at least they're cleaner than that mess. *Sighs* I genuinely feel sorry for those who were in the live action classic due to that honestly
I think what I love the most about the Adam’s Family is that they’re portrayed as weird and strange because they have….. an extremely healthy family dynamic and seem to be the only ones in that universe who has one
As much as Tim burton stuff creeps me out I agree with this, seeing Kubo and other amazing stop motion movies plus Tim Burton’s style I’d say that would’ve been awesome
Totally agree with you! Thing is though, Coraline wasn’t animated per say ; it’s mostly stop motion puppet work for the characters and locations. things like the other world being dismantled and the dinner scene in coraline with the Real Dad were probably.
_The background character designs are terrible and very ugly, the plot is basically The Lorax and I don’t understand the Wednesday and her friend part. Her friend starts wearing black makeup, black clothing and acts depressed which isn’t what the Addams Family is. Yes, they wear black but they aren’t depressed at all_
I feel like they didn't get the Addams family at all really, because the girl Wednesday becomes friends with in the end just starts wearing black makeup and black clothing and starts being all depressing and stuff, which she supposedly wanted to do this because of Wednesday, which isn't what defines the Addams family at all. They are happy people living their lives in a twisted way, and the writers just ignored that. They just thought "ah black clothing, lets make the side character start wearing black clothing and be a drag." Its honestly just depressing seeing how they missed the target so far away. Also if I'm incorrect on anything its because I watched this a year ago and haven't (nor do I plan on) seeing it ever again.
honestly so happy Tim Burton made a new show about Wednesday to have something new about the Addams Family to freshen our minds. Thank you, Tim. You have once again made a classic.
My mom had struggled with cancer for 14 years before it inevitably killed her. She used to share all the things she grew up with when she was a kid when I was growing up, and Adams family was one of her favorite things to share with me. She died in 2018, and I’m glad she didn’t live to see this monstrosity.
The tips fedora meme is the actor who played Pugsley is Addams family reunion (the 3rd and often forgotten live action film) the actor is The Addams Family and Values is a different guy.
Just their looks alone was enough to keep me away. I've grown weary of this huge head on a toothpick body and small head on a huge torso look. They're just horrible and, as you mentioned, look like concept art before the final rendition. Surely Burton's version would've been better. How is it we can tolerate his oddball character designs but not Illumination? There's just something off about it. Not a fan of Wednesday's head being absurdly stretched to look like a vertical pill. They should've watched _Frankenweenie_ (2012) and blended that style with the original comic's. Edit: I think what irks me the most is in every Illumination movie there's always one woman character with 50 pounds of hair balancing on her head. Bonus irk points for a gratuitous southern accent to pair it with.
I concur. John Astin and Raul Julia made very handsome-yet-creepy Gomez portrayals. I can't believe how hideous they made him look in this turd of a movie!!
like what? people are just like '1 random person on the internet said it's bad so I'm just gonna say it's bad without any real evidence except for following the crowd and having the same opinion as big youtuber because I want to be cool'
honestly i got bad vibes as soon as i heard the movies existence i acTUALLY DIDNT EVEN RECONIZE WHO WAS GOMEZ i always imagined gomez to be this masculine cocky vampire like king kind of thing but he just straught up looks like a potato with a mustache
Completely missed the message of the Addams family. They accept everyone and anyone with no question. Morticia would never shame her daughter for wearing a pink hair clip, she'd encourage it
Ehhh not really. Remember in the second movie how distraught they were that their baby had turned normal? They wouldn't encourage it, but they're loving enough that they'd accept and work with it. Think of a father who hoped his son would be a baseball player. He'd get confused and a little upset that his son is now doing interpretive dance, but he'd still show up and encourage his son at his shows.
@@sbel6626 so that is the message then? It's that just because they don't agree with how other people behave, they still accept them, and I think that what they're trying to say. This movie just shits on that concept because they're "weird" and "not like other families!"
@@sbel6626 Here's the thing, the family isn't "normal." They encourage people to be themselves and they accept that. Pubert becoming normal of course would distress them as that means he wouldn't have the chance to explore who he really could be and he'd be a cookie-cutter child. They are all true to who they are, no matter how weird it is, and they encourage it because they're not being forced to some standard. The point is that they love their family and the people they encounter just as they are.
@mari animates You make a good point! In one episode of the Addams Family (1964), Pugsley wants to join the boy scouts and Morticia and Gomez try and support him even if they don't understand. In the Addams Family Values (1993), they were willing to accept Debby because she really did have some qualities that blended with theirs. For the most part, they do try and be accepting of their kids.
@@wolf73371 Nno, I didn't grow up watching the Addams family, but in a scene from the second live-action, as Morticia reads a normal cutesy story to try take care of Pubert as he grows blonde hair and blue eyes, she mutters to herself, "To think, a child of mine..." She is not okay with it, even if the animated movie probably did a shit job of tapping into that facet of her character.
I hate how out if character everyone is. Pugsley was never really malicious. Wednesday is a polite good daughter. Morticia is classy refined and always calm. Gomez only see the bright side of things and here's very reckless and energetic. When he's emotional he plays with his trains. Wednesday would never be rude. Pugsley would never try to kill his dad out of malice, it's always a playful thing. The most offensive change in my opinion is that the Addams care at all. Despite their eccentricities they are very oblivious to themselves, they don't realize others find them strange most of the time. They'd also never run away. Never. They literally train to fight for their family and their family creed is literally "We Gladly Feast on Those Who Would Subdue Us". Gomez being rich because he's very lucky is also important to his character since it's a big reason why he's still so childish. I hate how nervous and demure they made the new Gomez. He'd also never let Pugsley get away with slacking off like that for a family event. Family is too important to him. I also feel like they didn't show their family dynamic well. They all clearly love each other and are very protective over each other. The new movie made it seem like they were an average disney family when they're more loving and supportive than that. If Wednesday ever did act like they made her act then Morticia would be supportive and try to meet her friend and be a part of their lives. She doesn't like that aesthetic but if she thought that's what Wednesday would want then it wouldn't be an issue. Morticia and Gomez are also way more affectionate to their kids and they always try to have time with them. Gomez would never be afraid of Pugsley's bombs. If anything he'd challenge him to improve his accuracy and see it as bonding time. The music in the movie is also as terrible as I thought it would be. It's all generic pop with generic lyrics. They're all way too smiley too. Addams rarely smile like that. They usually have more cocky, mischevious, and sometimes just evil smiles. They're not supposed to be all gummy and genuine. And after all that the designs are disgusting. The only thing I liked was the noose at the end of Wednesday's braids. They also made Wednesday try too hard to be an edgelord. Wednesday doesn't need to try because she's naturally intimidating since she doesn't thing her interests are bad or that she's wrong for wanting to hurt people or just doing it. I hate the new girl the most though. They included her to be a generic rebelling self righteous pre-teen and they gave her this gross nose and permanent eyebags with this gross square face shape. Hate her. Hate everything in that movie. That normie cheer song gives me nightmares.
I agree with all except maybe that Morticia would fully accept Wednesdays new "aesthetic" or style. In the Addams family Values they said the new baby was "sick" because he started acting like a normal child so that to them is an illness and I think it must be genuinely to their family as when the whole family returned at the end the baby went back to being an Addams. 🤔
@@kaz1819 I didn't think about that. I can see that happening but I still don't think she'd be forceful about it like in the new movie. She'd be concerned but I think she'd just see it as "oh she's going through her rebellious phase" and be certain that Wednesday would go back to normal eventually. Maybe she'd even think of it as cute "Look Gomez, remember our young rebellions together?" type of thing.
Fully agree with the analysis I totally live the original TV AND THE FIRST MOVIES WITH IRL M. BISON! XD CellSpex did a review and I learned that the TV house was actually painted PINK! And you thought black and white TV was easy?!
My biggest issue with recent addams family stuff is that they're trying to make Wednesday have conflict with her parents when the entire point of the addams family is that they love and support each other despite their 'unnatural' appearance

okay but the icee actually DOES taste good. They sell them at the Burger King across the street from my house during October and I usually get it even when it's cold.
Holy shit I just realized something Ok, so normally in art when you do shading, the shaded color is a different hue than the lighter color. Usually the shaded color is a cooler color (blue, purple, greens) while the unshaded color is warmer colors (red, yellow, orange.) you can see that somewhat with the Lorax clip he showed. IN THIS FUCKIN MOVIE, HOWEVER, the shading is done by lowering the brightness of the color itself, which makes it look OH SO washed out and off-putting. This is fine for the scenes where the gothic tone is apparent, but it’s consistent EVERYWHERE. DEAR GOD
I agree, but just want to point out, the colours that you use for shading dont necessarily have to be cooler. In my art style, I prefer shading with warmer colours. It just gives it a different energy
I remember watching this when it came out, and you described my feeling perfectly when you said “wait wait that’s it? That’s the end?” Because that’s quite literally what I was thinking. There was practically 0 conflict and and that “conflict” was resolved so quickly you would think that it was just a minor conflict in the movie. But nope. That’s the entire premise of the movie.
To be fair I think that's how the person who actually began the addams family designed Wednesday to look like. At least that's what I believe I only saw his version once and never went into further research
I didn't like how, when Wednesday started branching out and wearing pink and stuff, Morticia was just horrified and borderline offended by that. Like I always took it that the Addams family was strange, but they didn't outright reject people for being different. They ARE different, and while they like what they do, they never were close-minded about other people.
Oh I agree with you fully! It's explicitly shown in Addams' Family Values, when Pubert (their new baby,) is changing into a curly, blonde haired little boy, Morticia changes his nursery to match the "normal" changes he's going through and even buys him books. It's played off as comedic, because it is in the context! But the Addams have always been supportive and welcoming of all sorts of folks. If i remember, Cousin It is married to a totally "normal" woman, too, and they have children together in that movie. So the fact Morticia was...aghast at the idea of Wednesday exploring her identity, it felt awfully shoehorned in.
@@calamairi8189 Exactly. They view it as weird in the same way most people view them as weird, but don't give people grief over their preferences and try their best not to judge.

After a while it’ll look like the figures are moving. It take a lot of dedication and patience
I would have really loved to see the Addams family movie in stop animation in the Coraline aesthetic, Coraline is my favourite movie partly because of the aesthetic it has, I think that the gothic tone of it would really suit the Addams family!
A thing that really bothers me in this movie is that they have the exact backstory of the munsters, strange outcasts from a far away place, immigrants metafor. But that´s not the Addams, the thing about them it´s that they lived in that old mansion for centuries, they even have an entire cemetery full of weird ancestors.
It's the point. I just don't get why she wants to kick out there Adams since her goal is for people to buy all the houses and that's what Gomez wants. It's so stupid.
The ONLY good scene in this movie was the scene where Uncle Fester sings “I’d Tip My Hat To You” in the park and then exposes himself to a group of children whilst simultaneously unleashing a hoard of bats from under his coat.
As much as people rag on the series nowadays, Gru and his house from the first Despicable Me movie pulls off this concept of a weird, oddball character in a normal world MILES better. His mannerism, his furniture, his gadgets, even his pet stand out wonderfully in contrast to the normal and boring world, which creates some pretty good setups for jokes and plot lines that both have quality. Not to the point of The Incredibles or anything like that, but still very good. And a lot better than this movie
The rest don't exist. The first movie is the only one in the series. But it did that job very well. We have the Mc, Gru. He has a goal (stealing the moon) and has obstacles to that goal (Vector, money, the kids). His odd personality adapts to the world around him.
The first despicable me movie is a classic it’s really good but the rest are very questionable because they just aren’t that good but the first one has detail plot and pretty funny characters I would say
@@Racewitchina ehhh i liked the second one even though the first was astronomically better, but the third one can't keep my attention for more than five minutes. i always liked the first one because of gru's growing relationship with the girls and how his love for being a father to them was conflicting with his end goals and his perception of himself not feeling good enough. the dynamic between all four of them was iconic. that relationship sorta died out in favor of gru's new job occupations instead? that was really disappointing for me.
@@microwave8931 One of the reasons the rest of the movies don't exist is because they made gru a good guy, completely ruining the reason why I liked the series in the first place and what made it unique. Now its just a bad sci fi movie for kids.
so basically: Hollywood: Alright, we’re going to pick a production to help produce the Addam’s Family. Tim Burton: Let’s make it my style and stop-motioned- Hollywood: No. Universal: Let’s make it dark, terrifying, and- Hollywood: No. I’ll pick... Illumination: *Sits quietly in the corner*
@@MorrowindES17 No, you misunderstood. Illumination didn't make the Addams Family cartoon last year. They were the ones trying to make the stop motion with Tim Burton at the helm, but work stopped in 2013 for some reason. Here's the full excerpt about it: "In 2010, after Illumination Entertainment acquired the rights to The Addams Family comics, they began work on the film at Universal Pictures as a stop-motion animation directed by Tim Burton and produced by Chris Meledandri.[9] After development stopped, however, in 2013, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures announced that they would produce the animated film based on The Addams Family comics, with Pamela Pettler then writing the screenplay.[10][11] In June 2019, it was announced that Bron Creative is co-financing the film with MGM as part of a multi-picture co-financing agreement with the studio.[12] In October 2017, it was announced that the film would be directed and produced by Conrad Vernon. Additionally, Gail Berman, Alex Schwartz, and Alison O'Brien also produced the film. Matt Lieberman wrote the finished screenplay, with story by credit for Lieberman, Rivinoja, and Vernon. The film was animated by Cinesite Studios, with Tabitha Shick overseeing it for MGM.[13][14] In December 2017, it was reported that Oscar Isaac was in talks to voice the role of Gomez Addams in the film.[2] In June 2018, Isaac was officially cast, alongside Charlize Theron, Allison Janney, Bette Midler, Chloë Grace Moretz, Finn Wolfhard and Nick Kroll.[15] In July 2018, Aimee Garcia joined the voice cast,[16] and in August 2018, Elsie Fisher was added as well.[17] In November 2018, Catherine O'Hara and Martin Short were added as Morticia's parents,[18] and in August 2019, Snoop Dogg, Tituss Burgess, and Jenifer Lewis joined as Cousin Itt, Glenn, and Great Auntie Sloom, respectively." Friggin' Snoop Dogg as Cousin Itt, what a waste of the money they had. Anyway. So, basically what our narrator up there was saying was, as bad and money hungry as Illumination films tend to be, it still would've been much better than what we ended up with. And it still would've been a Tim Burton film. Hopefully they'll get back to work on it after seeing this one didn't count.

The character designs in this movie range from “Yeah that looks, like something” to “That is the worst animated character design I’ve ever witnessed.”
I really didn't like the background characters but the family's designs were based off the original addams family comics. You dont have to like them, but there was thought put into it. I personally respect that.
Wednesday and her friend are the most horrifying out of all of them.
Their arms are so thin I could snap them like snapping a twig.

@Trash Goblin atleast they didn’t try to kill them
also in addams family values, when the baby turns "normal" they love it no matter if they don't understand why it's like that
True and... FOR THE HORDE!!!!
Yes! This is exactly what I thought when I watched even the trailer. The Addams Family has always been more unusual, but they wouldn’t care if someone wanted to be ‘cutesy’ or happy. They’d care about how others expressed themselves, especially someone in their own family
you know its bad when illumination could've been the hero we needed
Ironically, the Adams family didn't originally necessarily keep the people out on purpose... When people came they were hospitable and nice in their own cooky crazy way, they were well-mannered, polite, and courteous, all of them. People avoided them like the plague coz they were WEIRD. There used to be another Adams Family show when I was a kid and I remember clear as day that the Adamses were nice and friendly, just didn't approach people unless they needed to, coz y'know, introverts and knowing personal boundaries!
And remember the time the baby became yknow different from them. but they accepted the baby and morticia even read dr.seuss to it. It was really sweet

Imagine a alternate universe where it existed- I would’ve been a great one
This is my favorite comment
Yes! This is exactly it!!!
Fully agree with the analysis

Ok, so normally in art when you do shading, the shaded color is a different hue than the lighter color.
DEAR GOD
Everything looked weird to me. The best I could do was think the saturation is low. Thank you for explaining it
That makes so much sense! In all the sunny scenes something looks… off and I could never figure out what.
I agree, but just want to point out, the colours that you use for shading dont necessarily have to be cooler. In my art style, I prefer shading with warmer colours. It just gives it a different energy
@@yubikyu yeah, i was just using that as a basic frame of reference.
@@howtoavenge1016 right, fair enough
I remember watching this when it came out, and you described my feeling perfectly when you said “wait wait that’s it? That’s the end?” Because that’s quite literally what I was thinking. There was practically 0 conflict and and that “conflict” was resolved so quickly you would think that it was just a minor conflict in the movie. But nope. That’s the entire premise of the movie.

I can't believe I never realised it when I watched all 30 minutes of this movie
To be fair I think that's how the person who actually began the addams family designed Wednesday to look like. At least that's what I believe I only saw his version once and never went into further research
as someone who loves wednesday (you can probably tell), i feel so disappointed with this wednesday.
AAAHHHH
Bruh
I didn't like how, when Wednesday started branching out and wearing pink and stuff, Morticia was just horrified and borderline offended by that. Like I always took it that the Addams family was strange, but they didn't outright reject people for being different. They ARE different, and while they like what they do, they never were close-minded about other people.
Like someone else mentioned, normally Morticia is not like that. She would be a bit more supportive of Wednesday’s actions

@@charlesmetz4641 basically yoi know how animation is essentially taking a bunch of pictures that are slightly different to make it look like it’s moving right? A thing that really bothers me in this movie is that they have the exact backstory of the munsters, strange outcasts from a far away place, immigrants metafor.
If they simply didn’t center the movies on the stupid ass minions, the franchise could’ve been good. but, we all know illumination. Money hungry.
@@microwave8931 One of the reasons the rest of the movies don't exist is because they made gru a good guy, completely ruining the reason why I liked the series in the first place and what made it unique. Now its just a bad sci fi movie for kids.

@@ichigoeater I would loved to see an animated film made by Tim Burton too bad Illumination got the rights.
@@MorrowindES17 No, you misunderstood. Illumination didn't make the Addams Family cartoon last year. They were the ones trying to make the stop motion with Tim Burton at the helm, but work stopped in 2013 for some reason. Here's the full excerpt about it:
"In 2010, after Illumination Entertainment acquired the rights to The Addams Family comics, they began work on the film at Universal Pictures as a stop-motion animation directed by Tim Burton and produced by Chris Meledandri.[9] After development stopped, however, in 2013, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures announced that they would produce the animated film based on The Addams Family comics, with Pamela Pettler then writing the screenplay.[10][11] In June 2019, it was announced that Bron Creative is co-financing the film with MGM as part of a multi-picture co-financing agreement with the studio.[12] In October 2017, it was announced that the film would be directed and produced by Conrad Vernon.
