- The Toro 20016 Recycler gets to mow again. We found this free mower next to the road. This mulching mower gets brought back to life. We fix the self propel system after getting it to run again.

This little motor is tough. Got the same one. Been using it for 20 yrs. Replaced front drive assembly recently.

Thanks for the video, I inherited my dad's 20016 that had not run for a few years. I was able to get it running and replace several things beforehand but your video helped me out a great deal finishing the job and getting her running like a top!

Great video. TY. Why do people spend hundreds on mowers and do not perform the necessary maintenance? Or spend hundreds on a new mower instead of repairing their current mower? I am guessing that repair is less expensive than replacement.
Hey there. Trying to fix my 20016 toro. I can’t seem to get the screws to mount carburetor to sit correctly. It’s the same step at the 11:30 mark. Any suggestions?

do you have to get a bag for it? If so where?
Needs some quick help man if you can.I disassembled the carb on the same model as you posted and as I began running a tiny modified (I rounded it off to use as a passage cleaner for the jets) staple through the side and bottom of the restrictor screw after removing it from the carb,I cleared the side passage easily,but I just can't get the staple to pass through/into the side passage when running the staple through the bottom passage.You stated in the video that fuel flows in the side passage and out the bottom or visa versa,so that,& common sense,tells me that passage on the bottom should intersect with the side passage, correct?? Otherwise what would be it's purpose?? Was gonna post an image for clarification,but not sure that's possible?? I'm sure you know what I'm asking?? And thanks btw for a great how to on this topic.This passage/screw is the only thing holding me up right now on putting everything back together.Would a clogged passage on this screw cause the "fuel leaks out of the air filter/no start condition"?? Thanks again.
I do not think so. A float needle that is leaking will cause that.

Thanks for the reply.What cleaning I done on the parts I listed got it running again for now,so if it starts acting up again,I'll use the same process.The hook broke off of the self propelled cable where it attaches to the handle,so I've got that jerry rigged for now using a makeshift splice.All I've gotta do now is buy a new cable for it and it'll be working great.Thanks again
Adjusted both cables on my 20016 toro Tecumseh but neither cable engages when compressed!
