I agree with all these points, except the larva tear. It must have some cost at least, otherwise it would be too easy to face bosses. Maybe putting a cost of 1 rune level would make players not abuse it.
Great runes feel pointless fightning bosses, it's more useful for the open world exploration. I wish like, if you are equiped with one unactivated, it would have 40% of its effect, and then using a great rune would activate it to its full potential. At least to feel that it isn't being completely useless.
Somber weapons are also so much more easier to get to maximize than the normal weapons. Once you step on leyndel or altus plateau you basically can get a maximized one, while for normal weapons you need to reach consecrated snowfield or farum azula to get enough smithing stones 8.

On the low drop rate farming issue- they also could have fixed this by addressing the a lack of actual items to accidentally stumble across in such a big open world. Just put these low drop items ALSO hidden through out the world. That's literally it. Now, when you stumble across a purple glowing item in some weird location, you'll actually be excited by a new armor / weapon instead of "Arteria Leaf" or "Starlight Shard". If someone wants to dual wield, they can just go farm for the second.

i can understand the stats required thing you said, but you gotta understand that each weapon has it's own abilities to be balanced around that. the sword of light aow boosts the holy dmg by a ton. and if the scaling in faith was higher that sword would've been oneshotting every boss in pve and every player in pvp like they were nothing, hence the c scaling in str. you cannot say the same thing for all the weapons, you gotta see what they exels at and what they can do and how they can be balanced around.

I definitely agree with the weapon farming, being unable to open the map, and the ability to refight bosses. Having such a low drop rate made sense for ds1 and that is basically it. The map being unable to be opened during combat definitely gets annoying at times especially when those zombie things are after you. Being able to refight bosses would be great if you want to learn their moveset or just get some souls on an easy to beat boss.

The main gripe about this game for me is the controls. Some actions are double/triple binded and it is idiotic. Like roll and sprint being in the same button. Not only does it make sprinting have a huge delay because the game has to wait a delayed amount of time to start sprinting incase you release the button for roll. This also causes roll to only be on button release which is pretty bad as it adds a delay to arguably the most important action in the game. If you are sprinting already and need to roll an attack you have to release the button press it, then release again, so clunky!! And you can't even fix it if you wanted to, you can only rebind the button that controls all the actions roll/back step/sprint. Its not the only problem binds either, why is reset camera and target lock the same?! It's gotten me killed so many times.

    • @Krasnyybaracha

      @GwymGwom 7 วันที่ผ่านมา

Reset camera is so useless. Also having the compass point based on where your character is looking is a little weird, same with all directions facing actions, but I geuss having your character snap to where your camera is facing instantly just looks weird, and might be exploitable.
I will say that I disagree on the rolling, especially in elden ring. Once you memorize attack timings then it doesent matter, but before that you will be hovering on the roll button with so much anxiety that you might half press it down before the full attack, and then get a second chance to dodge at the atcual right time by releasing it. I geuss it does technicaly have delay, and its probably why parrying and quickstepping is hard to adjust to since their buttons are instant.

To me the biggest issue is sprinting, the rolling is annoying and some attacks (like godkskin noble stomach attack) do come out a bit to fast to react, to where the action on release is often a large part in getting hit.
The delay on sprinting is just too long, and you cant customize the internal game definition for timing on hold vs press timing to help. You can dodge waterfowl by running away with light rolls but you cant with sprinting at the same distance because the delay causes you to overall cover less distance during the time you are given even though sprinting being faster than roll spamming once you are actually running.

Just FYI Fromsoftware is a Japanese company, I seriously doubt they have employees scouring English youtube for game development advice. Maybe they looked at reviews 2 years ago at launch, but nobody is looking at our youtube at their company right now. I could be wrong, but I think its not really how game dev works.
    My opinions on your opinions:
Map: agree with being able to open it, they should just not enable the warping until the hostility passes. this annoyed me as well, as sometimes I just want to see where I'm going.
fast travel in dungeons: also agree with this, but only when standing at the site of grace.
great rune activation: agree here too, I've never actually used a rune arc or whatever theyre called, because I have so few of them and I know how quick I went through humanity/effigies/embers in the other games.
normal smithing stones: I'm neutral on this, don't care either way as I usually don't have any problem upgrading anything
farming: disagree here, I like farming and I like rare items, what I don't like is rare items you need lots of, like covenant items in DS3 were just pure pain, but I don't think there's much to be done about this. its a core feature of good RPG design.
ancient dragon fights: I'm on the fence here, I personally don't often rely on lock on so I have no opinion.
respec: playing diablo 2 with the plugy mod (infinite respecs) taught me this is not a good thing for game balance. when you can change your build at any time to fit any situation, it becomes part of the meta, and a part of gameplay. nobody wants to have to respec constantly, but people will feel like they have to if they can. 17 respecs is more than enough, and this opinion ties in with the next:
refight the bosses: disagree here, fromsoft wants you to replay the game, that's how all the souls games work except 2 and sekiro, most people wouldnt make new characters if they could refight the bosses at any time. now, I do agree with the fact that collecting the basic upgrades is painful in this game, and thats why the open world is detrimental. in the other souls games you just easily grab your upgrades along the way, there isn't a giant empty world to run around wasting time in.
weapon requirements: disagree here, these exist for balance reasons and also to be a reward for certain builds. they've never wanted everyone to be able to use everything, if something scales off STR but has a high faith requirement for example, that means its a faith build weapon. it prevents intelligence users from using the weapon, which is good for build diversity reasons. in other words, it helps you go "I want to replay this again as a faith user, there's gear only usuable on that stat". Make everything usable by anyone with the most common attributes and now you no longer have this extra incentive to play the game again.
You make good points, but you are very young, and lack experience. Sometimes when we want convenience it can destroy a game. We just don't realize it until we have it. And these are opinions I think a lot of people will have, but thats why we're players, not developers. Sometimes we don't know that what we want isn't actually good for us.

Input delay, dropped inputs, input queueing, aimpunch, and a grandfathered camera are all things I wish they'd rectify.
Also the existence of the deflecting hardtear just straight up vexes me. They had the power to give usthe perfect guard, and it just makes me annoyed that it wasn't with us from day one in base game, with this tear giving the buffs we already know. Having a perfect guard at all times would have given us another built in layer of skill expression that is there, on demand. But it wasn't, and it's tied to a timer(I know 5 minutes is more than enough to beat a boss, it's just the principle that I'm harping on).

The one that I am most in agreement with is the number of map markers. I would be happy even if they just added another 100 markers with the DLC. I can make do with removing most of my markers from a given area when I'm pretty much finished with that area -- what I do (which I wouldn't have to do if there were more markers) is mark what I'm done with, until I'm largely done with an area, then I switch and mark what I have yet to do instead, which takes less markers. And there are a certain number of markers I want to leave on my map: Spirit Springs, Waygates, Walking Mausoleums. Those actually use up a fair number of markers, leaving me with way fewer than I need for the DLC. I'd be happy if they'd put permanent markers on the map for those things that would be uncovered once you discover them, just like the markers for ruins and sites of grace are. Then I wouldn't have to be using any of the limited number of markers for those, at least.
Being unable to open the map when some enemy is mad is annoying, but I don't find it over the top. It usually only takes a moment to run away to a point where that enemy has lost track of you. I'm not sure I'd want to be able to open the map when I was actually being targeted for battle and couldn't use the map for travel anyway. If that was the case, then I would open the map not knowing I was targeted, and then be fumbling to close the map while getting hit. I wouldn't like that.
Dungeons and teleporting: I also like to get the graces and then come back and do the catacombs and caves later. It does make sense to me that you can't teleport out from inside the dungeon without defeating the boss first. But you're right, it would make sense if you could at least teleport *from the grace itself* rather than having to walk all the way outside. There are only a few places where you can't walk from the grace to outside without finishing the dungeon (where you have to jump down to get to the grace itself when you enter a place), so it wouldn't be a large change if they made it so you could at least teleport from the grace. Right now, you can easily go to the grace and then check the map to see whether or not you can teleport out to see whether or not you've completed that dungeon. If you haven't, then you have to walk outside to teleport away, or go through the dungeon. If they changed it, then you'd have to go to the grace and then walk away from it a little ways to check whether you can teleport to see whether you'd finished it, and then if you haven't, either do the dungeon or walk back to the grace to teleport away. A small change.
Rune arcs: I totally agree. After brief experimentation, I used no rune arcs in the main game, because I died too much. If I'd used them, I would have gone through them like wildfire. (I never could understand watching FightingCowboy pop them like crazy, until I read that he has some sort of special advertiser account that gives way more rune arcs than a normal player gets.) I know some people get them through PVP, but I don't do PVP. Finally in the DLC, I'm using them, because I finally have leveled up to an insanely overpowered level which means I have a decent arcane and I have the talisman that adds +5 to arcane, I have the silver tear mask, silver scarab, marika's soreseal, grafted blade, and silver pickled fowl feet are easy to make. So I spend some time occasionally farming rats and Ancestral Followers for nascent butterflies and rune arcs on the cliffside in Ancestral Woods. With all the buffs, it's actually not a bad drop rate now, and with being so overleveled, I actually don't die as much now, so they're actually feasible to use. But this is what it's taken to get there. In order to make them actually useable for real people in the main game, they need to be WAY more attainable, or have some other way to make great runes be activated.
Smithing stones / leveling weapons: Yeah, it is weird how many more smithing stones you need for a regular weapon vs. a somber one. But once you have all the bell bearings, it's all just time and runes anyway.
Weapon and armor drop rates: I play Xbox, and haven't done any multiplayer, so I know nothing of any other way to give myself items. I made a goal of getting every single piece of armor and weapon in the game, so I spent quite a bit of time farming for everything. I have every single thing from the main game, aside from remembrance items that need a second playthrough to get the second one of (since I've only done one playthrough so far), and I'm working on the DLC now. Some were a pain early on, but later as I got more ways to level up the Discovery and killing things got easier, it got much better. I think the weapon and armor drop rates are fine. It makes sense that some items should be more rare to get. If you really want the item, you work for it. The thing I find annoying now is farming for crafting items. The absolute worst is the golden centipedes. Their drop rate is so low! I try to keep a decent number of everything on hand so I can craft whatever I need, and I eternally have less of those tnan anything else. Eyes of Yelough are second, and a pain to farm because I have to kill the snow trolls, which are not quick to kill (and if I try to kill them more quickly, then they sometimes kill *me*). But they're nowhere near as much of a pain as the centipedes, because at least they have a decent drop rate!
Ancient dragons: I am more of a ranged player, so I hadn't noticed this, but yeah, it makes no sense if you can't lock on to their feet. WTF Fromsoft?
Larval Tears: I actually haven't used a single larval tear, because my strategy is to just keep adding levels rather than to respec. But yeah, if you want to respec, there should be a bell bearing for larval tears. Or they should respawn after killing bosses, or something. After you reach a certain point in the game, you really should be able to respec as much as you want, without having to rely on an extremely rare, limited item for that. I mean, you do get more every NG+, I suppose. Maybe just adding a few more would be enough?
Str/Fai weapons: Yeah, that's weird. But I feel like putting some points into Faith in order to be able to use some utility incantations is a good idea anyway, so it doesn't bother me to have weapons that want some faith points to use them, since I'm going to have some points there anyway. That's just me, though.
Re-fighting bosses: Hmm, that's a good idea. You should be able to go to the boss's door or site of grace and click on "re-fight this boss" and just be able to fight it again for a chunk of runes, just for fun. I wouldn't do it -- I'd rather just wait for the next NG+ to fight them again -- but I know a lot of people would. I'm thinking of one youtuber who kept going "wait, I don't want to win, I don't want it to be over!" with every good boss fight he fought. So sad, he was loving it SO MUCH that when he finally won, he was torn because he didn't want it to be over! A way to re-fight the boss would solve that. You could see then whether that boss was still taking you a dozen tries or whether you could just knock them over with a feather at your current level or build. It would be interesting.

I like the idea or leaving certain items on the map after they have been discovered as it would make it so that I need less markers. Thanks for being so thorough with all the points I mentioned in the video. Thankfully for myself I can get around some of these like Rune Arcs and Larval tears as I can just use mods to give myself as many as I want but being on Xbox not sure if you have that luxury, same for boss fights. I mostly want to re-fight them as I think I am a slow learner and will need like 8-9 NG cycles to learn some of the harder ones. For farming if you need items on Xbox I believe there is a sub on reddit where you can ask someone to trade an item for something you might have or help them with something like muling and they'll give you an item for the help. Obviously beware as some might try to advantage. Thank you again for watching and have fun in the lands between and land of shadow

Just started the video, but I'll give my pre-viewing thoughts: scadutree fragments were pretty fun to collect on my first SotE playthrough, since they're a good incentive to explore the world, but they are SO tedious on multiple runs. Spending 2 hours collecting 75 fragments just so I don't get one shot by Rellana with 60 vigor was mind-numbing. It's one of the ways you can tell the DLC was very poorly playtested; they even had to rework the early game scaling in a patch just after the release. I don’t use markers, they aren’t labeled so I don’t know what they’re supposed to represent. They would be better if you could label them yourself to make notes so you don’t get confused if you have a bunch on the map. Also related to maps, I wish they were more clear in general, I’ve found hidden passages in places that don’t even hint that there’s a possibility of reaching them on the map yet it’s obvious once you get to them. I understand hidden areas but when the general area doesn’t look accessible it’s frustrating.

pretty much agree with everything. I'd like to point out that drop rates are getting quite old by 2024. If you ask me, this is a problem that applies to so many other games besides elden ring. I would really like to see devs innovate on the system.
To start, I'd 100% add a duplicate safe system, Elden Ring is a game with different aspects, but the 1st aspect is PVE, specifically solo PVE, so there is absolutely no use to have duplicate drops if: 1. You cannot trade them to other characters. 2. You are playing solo and don't have anyone else to drop the items to. 3. They are sold cheap to balance rune level, some items are sold for 10 runes, for example. No sense to have dupes if playing solo.
In addition, maybe elden ring is not the fit for this suggestion, but as players we have very little game to influence drop rates, at least ER is designed in a way that everything that is important is guaranteed, but maybe we can have specific mechanics that change drops in rate, or rarity, idk. Otherwise, we can be more generous on the statistics or add more interesting ways to farm items, value the player's time, don't impose mechanics to waste time.

I agree they need to sell larval tears. There's plenty of restrictions they can put on it that could keep you from spamming them. Make them cost a million runes. Make it so you have to level up five times before you can use another one. Anything like that. And the fact that you can't respec to zero is really, really frustrating. They need to have Bell bearings for every ingredient in the game. I don't care, make me beat the game to get them, but farming for materials is boring. I agree more map markers. I agree, I think the antiquated weapon scaling system needs to be overhauled. Why should we have to watch TH-cam videos to know how much damage something does? And Buffs should have a percentages on them.

Honstly this might be the first video of this type where I find myself agreeing with basically everything. Well... maybe not the larval tear but that, I think, is the matter of preference. I think the tears being less common improve replayability a bit which is imo a good thing.
I would also add to these points my personal pet peeve which is: some non-unique weapons can only be aquired once per NG cycle which makes no sense to me. Why can't I get two norma long sword??? WHY?
Another one is the nonsensical aoe effects of some bosses attacks, that differ in nothing from another attack that does not have aoe (looking at you, golden hippo).
Finally, grab attacks. I don't know why From cannot make the hitboxes of those attacks make physical sense but until they find a way to do so, they should just drop them as a concept.

whilst i agree with the being unable to open the map while in combat/having an enemy being aggravated is annoying, i feel as though being able to fast travel whilst technically in combat is a bad idea. the memory of grace item is balanced because you lose all of your runes when you return to the site of grace - if we were able to teleport while in combat as long as the enemy can't hit us i feel like it would be unfair/go against the rest of the game balance
i agree with everything else though

yeah I am not sure how it can be made better. I don't think it's as frustrating for first playthroughs but subsequent ones it is. I do agree that if we were allowed to just walk right out without any penalty it would create imbalance. Thanks for watching and sharing your views :)

Don’t agree with any of these LOL - but I do want a quick wheel for accessing potions and one for magic - scrolling through a list while fighting was the most annoying thing for me. Most of the things you complained about feel like intentional and understandable limitations - the game is all about having weight to actions

Bro made a whole video about why he doesn’t wanna get gud. Most of the points make no sense. Dragons you can easily bait head shots, farming can be made easier with craftables and talismans and leveling arcane, respecing is gate kept because it takes away from the game if you can optimize your build for every boss and Teleporting out of areas in boss fights or before you’ve earned that right takes away from the whole point of dropping your runes on death.

I don't like the design direction of Elden Ring in general. If Bloodborne 2 is going to take cues from it, I'd rather not have a Bloodborne 2.

@@Krasnyybaracha My main gripe is the design philosophy of the bosses. Trying to exemplify the difficulty their known for, they went past challenging and into annoying in the mechanics. All the Shockwaves, AOEs, all day attack delays, and spongy health pools, not to mention the ubiquitous punishing of your attempts to heal make them challenging, sure, but also annoying.
Elden Ring bosses aren't as fun as Bloodborne bosses. The rally mechanic probably made it so they had to design bosses to give you more openings, and that makes the fights in Bloodborne more meaty. You can get in there. Peiple love the hunter fights especially because they feel like you're fighting an equal instead of being a bug. The closest thing Bloodborne has to an Elden Ring boss is Laurence, the first Vicar, and people hate that guy. I just hope any Bloodborne sequel stays Bloodborne, and isn't informed by Elden Ring.

I kind of understand what you are saying as I remember comparing everything I played to Sekiro and calling every game bad haha. I have not played Bloodborne as I am not much of a console player so can't really give proper input, I do remember having similar feeling when I played DLC though and I feel like there will probably be some sort changes in the combat in future games to accomodate this as DLC bosses were pushing the limit on it. Maybe next combat will be a derivative of Bloodborne combat, never know

This entire series went the wrong direction. Idk who was playing OG Demons’ souls back in the day and thought, we need bigger emptier areas and no core gameplay improvements. Like I got it on release, and had the genuine experience of making friends messaging and figuring out the game and 100% they seemed to expand on everything no one liked and fixed nothing. I mean they kept the crappy “platforming” no one liked and it took them 5 games to just add a proper jump button

    • @Krasnyybaracha
      @Krasnyybaracha  7 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

Jump button is huge, not having one feels out of place enough for me to be a bit hesitant to try older games. One day however I do want to experience them. Hopefully Fromsoft keeps seeing what's good and what's bad and improves on it in future games. It's impossible to make a perfect game but I am happy with Fromsoft atm

Demons Souls and Elden ring are fine and I’ll visit them now and again. I took like two steps into the new DLC and just erased the game 🤣 I do not enjoy *how* they make these games difficult anymore. Use your imitating grace for in combat. The color of Map markers are bad that's right. Again use your imitating grace. You can buy 5 rune arcs from merchants if you want the right pearl. Just go and find all pearls for smithing stones. For low drop rates, use your silver bird foot and lvl arcane. When you fight more often then not not locking on is the better option. You can buy tears and find them in the open world. You can change ashes by finding smithing tools to change their affinity and thus changing their requirements or scaling. All of your points are unnecessary.

    • @Angi_Mathochist
      @Angi_Mathochist 6 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

What do you mean, imitating grace? What's that, and how would it help you in combat to see the map?
I've bought every rune arc and everything else from every merchant. But what Krasnyy is getting at is that they're still limited. There's no merchant that sells unlimited rune arcs. You use up every one that you can find and buy in the game, and they're done. By "pearl" I think you mean bell bearing? How would bell bearings help with rune arcs? There are no bell bearings that give you more rune arcs.
Yes, locking on is better when you fight, usually. The point is that for ancient dragons, you CAN'T lock on to the feet. There's no lock-on point there. So what are you saying?
What's your point about color of map markers? Nobody said anything about the color of map markers. He was talking about the NUMBER of map markers. How is that an unnecessary point? There are not nearly enough markers. There are just a few items I want to keep markers on (spirit springs, walking mausoleums, and waypoints), but by the end of the main game, those use up the majority of them, leaving very few for the DLC. I go to mark all the sites of grace to find in one area, and there aren't even enough markers for that.

Yeah I'd say it is a bit of a nit pick for being able to open the map, markers though are different as my girlfriend being a completionist likes to explore everything and we want to put down markers for where we have been as we sometimes have big gap between our play sessions

Point one about the map? Genius!
100 markers is weak sauce. Agreed.
Dood ur map ideas are objectively better. No counter argument I can think of.
Feels like great runes are supposed to be super rare and punishing if you die too much. Myazakis way of saying you're bad hahaha. Sadly though this isn't so much funny as it is annoying. Agreed. Let us get rune arcs easier please.
So true about upgrading. Somber? Not so bad... not somber? Effing tedious lol.
Random drops are kinda lame. Bro it took me like 3 hours for certain items : ( seem others say days hahahaha such bad luck.
Locking onto dragon feet would be nice. Missing is easy otherwise and it always feels crappy.
Respec ideas are solid. Damn u make good points boss!
Weapon requirements being all over the place sometimes? Yeah lol it is a bit goofy.
True lol. Takes forever to enter the dlc. Where's my boss rush???
Ive always wanted a survival mode. Can u imagine both of us in the arena against endless waves of enemies getting hard and harder?
Admit it boss. You woukd throw down with people like me if this mode existed haha.
I use usb saves and or savr and quit RIGHT when you land the final hit on a boss. You just gotta remember and be quick. Still doesn't change the fact that this should be a default feature built into the game though. Like you said, it made sekiro bettero

Thank you for watching. Hoard mode sounds good and I feel like they could definitely add rewards in there instead of requiring farming weapons hitting 2 birds. I know Miyazaki wants his games to become more and more popular and so he will look into some feedbacks for future games and I am excited for it. USB saves is a genius idea haha, thankfully I am on PC and mods to the rescue allowing me to make saves and revive any boss at will. Thank you again
