0-70mph & 16psi Boost Modified Turbo 6.2 Diesel

- Here's a little 0-70mph video for you guys. I have the wastegate set @ 16 pounds of boost vs 21psi+ as I am not trying to push my luck and blow these new Head Gaskets lol Unfortunately I still haven't gotten my TH400 rebuilt yet so it slips on the 1st to 2nd shift and delays into 3rd but for what it's worth it is still holding up for now. (speedometer is off and says 5 mph less than actual)The truck also has a ton worth of weight in the back between parts, tools, equipment the camper shell ect so she's not light or rather as light and quick as she could be. With the motor all set to go and good I can start focusing on other repairs and upgrades like rebuilding the transmission, rebuilding and regearing the rear-end, getting a custom crossover pipe made or my current one modified so I can have my 4 wheel drive back. It isn't cheap making all these upgrades and takes a bit to finish one and start on the next but slowly but surely making progress.
Damn, I would have loved to have that in my M1010. 😂 nice build.

Bet this thing feels like a rocket compared to a stock 6.5😂
She's a quick one and even quicker than in the video. I can get down to 6sec or under 0-60 with all the weight out of her and pump cranked up but the tranny needs rebuilt. Im currently at a 10sec 0-60. She also weighs alot and am at 6500lbs and was heavier in this video.
0-60mph in 13seconds? Not bad. For what my pyrometer shows in my 6.5, I dont think I want more than 15psi on the turbo. I still wonder if my trans is working correctly.

She's actually a Canada made 1981 K20 6.2.
@Oracle Grower. How can there be too much power? :) lol. I need to go find your videos of how you upgraded your engine.
The drivetrain is completely stock and with 450+ HP and a already bad slipping TH400 she can't keep up with the extra power & tourqe. I also carry around 2000lbs in added weight from my tools, camper, spare, hitch and other stuff in the bed so shes always working harder than she should. If I completely emptied the truck of all the added weight she would be a freaking turbo diesel dragster lol
It's not made for power like a car, 15psi should be the max
What Injection pump are you using?
DB2 4153 HD turned up 3/4 to a full turn.
How big of an injection pump, cc's?
Slightly turned up DB2 4153 HD
Are you ever gonna Dino test it?
Probably but gotta get the tranny rebuilt first.
What would you estimate the horsepower at
I'd say w boost set to 21-25psi she's probably 440-500hp but set @15-20psi more around 350-420hp. Guessing of course so only a dyno can tell for sure but comparing to my mildly built 454 I used to have she's faster.
That's gotta be the biggest numbers I've heard of out of a 6.2. I've seen plenty of 230hp hx35 builds.
@@TheAscendedMaster you arent making 400 hp on a 6.2 diesel with 20 pounds of boost. My 6.5 spiked at 19 psi with my super 60 and I was probably only making 270hp
@@rock-uu7qr lol Well you don't have $45k into your truck like me now do you? The only thing stock on my engine is the block, cam, crank and pistons. Everything else is new, upgraded, modified, ported, polished and aftermarket so to try and compare your truck to mine is just not realistic.
@@TheAscendedMaster Not trying to be a dick but why would you keep the stock crank. That is the most brittle part of a 6.2/6.5
Swap in a nv4500
Unfortunately due to my ailments in my body I just don't have the strength to work a clutch and shift constantly.
