#Blancmange #DontTellMe #MangeTout
Absolute powerhouse of a track. Blancmange is the unsung hero of 80's bangers.
Agreed!!! I remember in high school, we used to have muchmusic video dances!! lol.. This was where I first heard it and love it still to this day.
@@kaiam6378your high school sounds like it was way more interesting than mine 😉
They have this wonderful quality they share with Italo where the lyrics are fun but hard to read much into

Ahhhh....the 80's...Those were the days...Please take me back...😮💨😮💨😮💨.
Il n'a plus bcp de personnes qui connaissent ça !
Wait for me! I want to go home too.
I think you wouldn't be alone.
@@pascalcolart9762 et le blanc mange est une patisserie française ;)
We didn't need gyms in the 80s, we all danced for at least 10 hours a week with healthy smiles on our faces
If I came home after dancing, and my jeans weren't soaking wet...
she must have been worth it! 😄
@@MrRolandMichel and shirt lol
They hit it out of the fucking park with this one didnt they! So so good.
80's KROQ 106.7 in Pasadena California ❤❤
One of the best songs all time. I'm the kidd of the 80's even I'm now closer to my 60's then to my 50's. I still very much miss those days when real music was made.
Straight up, these two guys just seem like a hell of a lot of fun. Making happy music and having a great time doing it.
Many bands in the '80s seemed to be similar.
Look at Madness, they look as though it was just a bunch of friends having fun.
@@lewis72 When We Was We about the early years is eye popping in places. I read it in the summer, an interesting book!
Went to see howard jones at Newcastle a few weeks ago and blancmange were supporting. Brilliant night. I always look at gigs like that as 2 fo1. Great stuff. ❤ the 80s, 😊
One of the best voices ever 🔥
Great song ⚡️
The 80 was the best ❣️
Absolutely . Not to mention that infectious smile.
They were the best your right 👍
One of my all time favorites!! Brings me back to my teen years growing up in Valencia California and working at Six Flags Magic Mountain, trippy because this video was shot in Valencia Spain!!
Didn't Magic Mountain used to have decent concerts? We'd drive up from Riverside to ride the rides and check out bands.
I thought that was sevilla
Love this song, recalls a more innocent, happy time!
Here here my thoughts exactly
True, these says some Twitter user would be moaning about the using of Indian drums and calling it appropriation.
@@6581punkNail on the head. Yet they're fine with making a queen of England blk.
1984 Whata a year ot was, i was 19. The music in Liverpool was very big back then. Lots of big night clubs. Life was great . Not a care in the world.
First time I'm listening ...I'm 58 years old! We needed a KROQ in Philly!!!! Wished we did ....trying to find this kind of music was like mining for gold!!!! And it still shines 🎶🙂🎵👍🏻💖
Richard Blade, KROQ d.j., was responsible for bringing great new wave music to the masses!
Blancmange, Depeche Mode, The Smiths...so many more!
Look him up!
Brilliant miss the 80s .you don't look 58 I'm 57 this year
Wow 😮 seriously these were big back in England 🏴 81 I was 11 and my fav band at the time then along came Wham and George Michael 😅 Blancmange always hold a special place in my heart
Dont worry. We loved Philly music in the UK!
Glad you found this kinda music...I made it through the 80s with these and others. Blancmange were a gem of a band. Not one Hit wonder. Awesome Dance..and Timeless. Love to you from U.K.❤❤❤
Jeez..We were so much happier then. So much for progress..
Oh how I wish we could go back to those days...especially 1983 and 1984 😢😢
This video highlights a truth I have noticed when travelling the world: Wherever you go there IS a Depeche Mode poster.
Just to reiterate, this band were so underrated in the 80s !👍
Definitely one of my all-time favorites that never gets old, thank you!
Absolute banger 80s classic 🔥
I like the use of the Indian tabla drum in different pitches, similar to indian films.
Looks like they had a right laugh making this video! 😂😂
One of the most underrated synth riffs ever. Fantastic combination with the sitars. Blew me away back in the day.
Merci à nos amis britanniques pour toute cette fantastique période musicale des années 80.
Ah, the 1980’s. Excellent. Bravo, Neil and Stephen.
Kids sporting hairstyle like this guy in 2024 😁 Ahead of his time 👍
It all comes back round again! 👍
I'd forgotten that this vid was done in Valencia. Neil's occasional awkwardness with the dancers and the fact that they all keep bursting into laughter is endearing.
Neil definitely grew into his looks. No longer the awkward young man, now he's a hot silver fox 😍
@@amg9163 Yeah, he looks amazing for his age!
@@amg9163 the easy grinning is still the same
Aahh so the video was shot in Valencia; that he was in Spain there was no doubt; from some frames of the clip I thought they were in Ibiza because of the semi-torn poster that appeared for a few seconds behind them claiming a Depeche Mode live show in the historic Pacha club
@@pendragonU his puppy dog eyes xx
I vividly remember this song playing in the back of my head when I first met and chatted with my first girlfriend back in high school. Such a strong and wonderful memory from 38 years ago. Hope you’re well Jessica, wherever you may be.
This song sounds still as fresh as when it was recorded. It's one of my all time favourites. The drive this song has is crazy!
Found this gem in No Man's Land 1987 a movie with Charlie Sheen. Download it on my phone, and can't stop listening to it. The 80s will always stay in my heart.
A absolute pleasure to hear this again a very underrated band 👍🏼
I was today years old when I found out that Blancmange is a sweet dessert popular in Europe.
I live in the UK & would sometimes eat this as a kid ❤
Such an awesome video. All the reactions from the non-artists make me smile... :)
A song with joy. A rarity
What a delightful find it's almost as good as living on the ceiling!😁
This was a favourite at the local skating rink in our teens.
Many happy memories - thanks
My friends and I loved this song it was one of our favourites to ice skate to at Billingham forum best times ever. 😀😀
València en FALLES! This kind of bands will always be linked to "Valencia MOVIDA" and "LA RUTA"
Loved this when I was teenager i had a crush on Neil
Brilliant. A blast from the past that sounds even better decades later.
🙏
The 80's were the best decade for catchy tunes.
And for living...now life sucks and the people in this world have gone crazy 😢😢
Transported back to my late teens, fantastic times!
Great valencia!
Great great tune
One of THE classics of the 80s. Let’s be honest - if the band is on Ferris Bueller’s bedroom wall, you know they’re good 👍
So much crushing on one place. J'adore. All of it. Everything. Over and over.
YES 1000%
A beautiful song and its videoclip recorded in my city! What else can I ask for? :)
Yes, a great song! Which city? 🙂
I've got the limited edition 12" version of this song (1984) , the one with the Budgie on it , if anyone is interested in buying it from me
🤔🤔🤔
I'll say you let me in the end
I'll say you'll let me be your friend
I maybe asked this once before
Don't you love me any more?
They had a blast doing this video 😁
masterclass in how you spend the record label's money.
Amazing band, underrated. Neil Arthur was so hot! And he still is.
The percussion is amazing. What a composition!
This is better than depeache mode stuff.
Pure 80s brilliance.
love the eighties music so many creative pop artists
Soy muy fan de la música de los 80's y he de decir que no conocía esta banda. Son fabulosos! 🎶🫵😍🎶
How good is this? Such a shame it's not played on the radio more.
Las fallas de Valencia.... la cremà
Lol. These guys always film in odd settings with awkward people. Love it❤
Funny how fashion repeats its self 2024 and my 22 year old son has the same haircut
A real 1980’s classic.
Wonderful song and Neil is a top bloke. I opened for Blancmange here in Dublin a few years back with my synth project KuBO and shared a pint of Guinness with Neil
1984 what a classic year ❤
Year I left school. best year ever!
@@andrewtaylor6737 Me too. Left school in 84. At the time we just did not understand how great music was and just took it for granted. Haven't heard a memorable new song for many many years - back then it was every week.
@@salvadormarleyTake me back, to those days please!
This is synthpop!!
Loved this band back then love them still ….
i LOVE that they just look like theyre having a laugh
Su estilo muy similar a erasure su voz igual 🎉 synthpop blancmange
Rock of the 80's...KROQ!! Well i was in LA
Freddy Snakeskin and Richard Blade.
Back in the day. lol we would dress up and hit the clubs in SF. Some classy dudes we where. Blancmange was a favorite!
What a upbeat video he looks happy filming this
The riff sounds a bit like Manic Monday. This came out in '84 and Price Wrote Manic Monday in '84 but it wasn't widely known until the Bangles covered it in '86 so there's no possibility of one influencing the other, so probably one of those happy accidents of life...great minds think alike!
They ripped off a 1983 South African afro disco record. Search: "Manyane - Thabong (1983)
@@flashback1123Yes they are indeed one in the same track to my ears. The only image I can see of the record sticker (vocal mix) says copyright 1984. I'd be interested to hear the 83 version.
This was 'real music'. Not like the junk music we hear in 2024 on commercial radios.
Agreed. Remember this same time as depeche Mode people are people. Both great songs
Yeah radios gayy and stupid now
Timeless cool
When I first saw this in the 80s, I assumed Blancmange was Spanish
Everyone is smiling, don’t blame them I was too in the 80s , best decade ever
Yes one of the freemasons better songs
1:11 Either flipping off or saluting the competition from Basildon. Can't tell which. 😄
Great tune, i bought and still have the original 12" vinyl !
He has legendary rizz! Look at those women's smiles.
When were you last offered blancmange? it has died out!
1984 was a brilliant year to be a teenager in the UK.
That's so true. We where so lucky.😀
The US too! We had a great college radio demographic, and we created MTV...when it was real music!
@@v-town1980 in France too awesome tracks in France inspire by Uk and USA
Indeed.... Financial hardship, high unemployment, Mrs. Thatcher destroying the country... Bloody wonderful days
first listen in 2024 - wild!
The intro of this song sounds so familiar… is it sampling something else?
Maybe it's about tablas. Blancmange had tablas on their previous hit Living On The Ceiling. Sampling was not so popular tech in the 80's synthpop hits, originality was preferred.
@@predragpetrovic6532 Kind of a long shot but I think it may have been the main theme to an old internet game called Skywire that this reminded me of.

The ferías in Valencia are awesome! We lucked out and just happened to be there during Fería and this song was in my head the whole time
I adore this song and, I must say, Sir Neil Arthur is still gorg!!! 💌 Best regards from Croatia!!! 💋

There is an paper advertisement on Depeche Mode concert, shown on 1:12
Omg absolute classic so nostalgic

Looking forward to meeting you guys on your tour in October !
Lucky!! They are so great in concert!! Enjoy!!
Pure '80 gold
