The performance is very beautiful
But the sound has extra echo
@dudeforcaster8630 Bach could not use a lot of things that are available now, like the modern piano. True genius that he was, he would not hesitate to use whatever sounded better if that was possible. Countertenors are not natural and are inevitably tiring to the ear. If someone could built an aluminum violin better than any Strad, Bach would surely use it. Likewise, period instruments are great not just because they were used by musicians at a particular time, but because the music from the period sounds better when they are employed.
Thanks God, no countertenors! Enjoy a real alto, sound placed in the natural range.
Bach used boy sopranos/altos as well as countertenors in his church music as woman were forbidden from performing in churches, therefore female voices are an anachronism.
Das ging leider diesmal voll daneben. Die Aufführung hat null Spannung. Dabei ist diese Cantata eine der dranatischsten Bekenntnisse Bachs. Und dieses ständige dazwischen Geklimpere der Orgel die sich stilistisch im 19. und nicht im 18. Jahrhundert aufhält ist voll daneben. Alle Sänger sind bemüht aber super schwach und wie Kobow schlecht intoniert. Das sind wir von Lutz nicht gewohnt. Neu machen mit besserer Besetzung und ohne Klimper Zwischenspiele die den Chorälen die Kraft. Und warum brüllt der ganze Bass am Schluss der Bassarie mit. Lasst solche Faxen. Grausam

Verstehe ich nicht. Ich habe ganz klare begründete Kritik nach einem langen Leben mit Bachs Cantatas und ich bekomme so eine blödsinnige Resonanz? Die Sänger falsch intoniert ein Tenor der jappst anstatt zu singen eine Altistin die tremoliert und gurgelt. Und dann brüllt der ganze Bass im Chor den Schluss einer subtilen Bass Arie mit wie im Ballermann. Wo steht das bitte bei Bach??? Ich liebe diese Cantata besonders weil sie ein fröhliches herzergeifendes Playdoyer für die Liebe zu Gott ist. Und wenn hier einer Nagelstiefel angezogen hat um dies zu interpretieren bin sicher nicht ich das ...

Vielleicht ist der Choral nicht das absolute Glanzlicht, aber die Kantaten Aufführung als Ganzes ist ganz sicher ein Glanzlicht. Sehr erbaulich.

Mpf ta ta mpf ta ta, der Eingangs- und Schlusschor sind so richtig protestantisch schwerfällig. How NOT to perform Bach 🤦🏽♂
AlexandrosV scheint entgangen zu sein, wie beschwingt Kantor Lutz die Kantate beginnt. Was ist da protestantisch (ich bin Kathoik!)? Bitte keinen Unsinn!
Bach wrote it in 3/4, so there is a bit of oom pa pa or "mpf ta ta." Check out other performances and you'll hear the same thing.
Werter Alexandros, das ist aber Unsinn, was sie hier schreiben!
Alle gesungenen Strophen dieser Kantate sind von Bach in der Form eines Tanzsatzes (wie in einer Suite) komponiert. Ein Dreivierteltakt ist nun eben ein Dreivierteltakt!
Herr @Alexandros kennt es scheinbar nur von Gardiner. Die spielen es etwas schneller, was auch nicht schlecht ist. Aber das Tempo hier gefällt mir auch sehr gut. Locker leicht swingend...
