  • The single munro just east of the A9 at Dalwhinnie was our target for a short walk during our journey south from Ullapool. The weather was settled, although quite cool when on the summit. It's a straightforward out and back route with the car parked in layby 94. The brightness was a welcome contracts to the misty weather we had experienced over the last week.

    Did this 19May 1997, Charlie. The bothy was chained up
    because of vandalism. Looks ok now. Thanks for the memory.

    Bagged this one in knee deep snow a few years ago Charlie. Just caught the start of a very heavy snow blizzard as i got back to my motor, Must have been hell for the 10 or so people still heading up to the summit. A9 was mental driving back to Glasgow. Very good Munro this one, Great views from it.
