At least you made it to the 2 Munros. Well done. My wife and I got totally lost on the plateau between Christmas and New Year 1987 in really thick freezing fog. Retreated by heading west for the A9. In September 1988 we did it when visibility was clear and couldn't believe how we had managed to get lost.

It’s very easy to happen, I totally appreciate that now. Just looking at my route it’s almost as if I turned round on the spot and walked back the way 🤦🏼‍♂️

    Glad you're ok, sir.
Pity about the cloud, but hey, thems the breaks.

Learned a lesson that day! Hopefully the next few walks will have cloud free summits!

I can imagine what that must have been like to experience.

Hi Ian, well done for posting this video, getting lost is part of the outdoor adventure, those featureless plateau's are very tricky in the mist! I definitely failed my o levels in map reading! I always take a bearing from summits unless clear skies. Mark Shaw.

Thanks Mark. Kinda glad it happened in the way it did since I walked away safely. It could have been a lot worse.

It would be great to meet others but given I’m getting lost up mountains on my own, I don’t think it would be a good idea to potentially put others at risk!
