That fizzy sound on the original recording is a dead-ringer for a Vox UL amp with the fuzz circuit engaged. It is a simple diode clipping circuit, which means once the signal drops below a certain threshold the sound clamps out. You can hear that fuzzy clipping especially at the beginning of the solo. A Casino is a pretty hot guitar and would typically overload such a circuit, but perhaps Paul had the guitar volume turned down right to the clipping point. You can hear a similar sound in the little lead riff on With a Little Help From My Friends.
Incredible that someone like you has come to this channel haha, it means a lot to me. But that's an amazing fact man, Anyone would think its was just a volume pedal
@@juodet Of course your covers are incredible! There actually may be a volume pedal in there too honestly - the fizziness just reminds me of a UL distortion circuit!
@@mattiboo Maybe you're right, I don't know much about the tones of Vox amplifiers. I tried to make the sound as similar as I could with what I have on hand haha
Agreed that it sounds like Casino on the recording. However, it sounds more like bridge pickup was used only and not bridge + neck like you did. Anyway, well done. Thanks for the video!
I would love to see you tackle the supposed acoustic guitar in Within You Without You. I do not hear one at all but apparently there is one. I can’t even hear it in the isolated tracks
I think it just reminds me more of Paul's style, and George's Epiphone Casino hardly appears in the session photos. I think I've only seen that guitar during the rehearsal for "Lucy in the Sky" the day before the recording
You unlocked the mystery! I always knew it was a guitar, but never thought it could be varispeed

Great song! Your solo sounds awesome! Awesome work! 👍
Love this solo, it just feels like its an instrument that doesn't exist, technically that's true
Sounds like he used his Casino. Great video!

Maybe you're right, I felt it sounded more similar when I played it in the middle position than just the bridge one, so I left it in that position

No acoustic guitar in WYWY. George played a few sporadic sitar parts while overdubbing the vocals and also a tambourine on the original live track.
Nobody knows if it's true or not, but I've also read that they used an acoustic guitar. I’m not sure where in the song, maybe in some demo
Yeah, Paul did play both half speed guitar parts using a volume pedal.
nice mate! it sounded pretty weird for a guitar personally
So dam accurate
Would you have the tab for this part? Thanks a lot for this video, very eye opening.
Please, publish it melody for me 😢
So the original solo was played at a normal speed and then the track was sped up?
Why do you think it's Pul and not George who performs the solo?
