    Got a question you want me to answer in an upcoming video? Drop it here! I’ll be doing an AMA/Q&A style segment in an upcoming video! (Print on demand, Etsy, SEO, my past life in HR, ask away!) 🤓

      Hi Mandy, I have a POD shop on Etsy, but I built it during the week before Thanksgiving 2022 in November. But then life happened, I have a full time job and it started to get busy and I neglected my shop until but now because I have a little bit more time on my hand and I want to leave my 9-5. What can do with my shop, I am doing free shipping but I want to take your advise and share the shipping cost and make my prices a little more lower so that it can be affordable yet not giving up a lot of my profit. Should I redo my shop to make it no longer free shipping and lower the prices? My shop also has a lot of the Holiday designs because I did it in November, where should I start? Should I start making evergreens first or keep doing holiday designs? Sorry for the long message but I love your content, its very authentic and real, and I just want to thank you for this amazing wisdom you have going on.

    I rarely ever comment on vids but I have to today. Thank you! This really was excellent. I know you qualified it by saying that it may not be as interesting as other topics you cover however, THIS topic is so critical to understand! I watched 100's of videos Feb, Mar, and April as I was learning how to set up a POD online store. I did not see anything that covered shipping as you have and I wish I had this info last month when I finally opened my store. I made two mistakes - I took Etsy's advice and offered free shipping to US customers immediately (I'm in Canada) and chose Printify's generic shipping option. I was excited to see my first sale on Day TWO!! I heard a "Cha-ching!" noise and had no idea what it was lol and I certainly was NOT expecting a sale that quickly. However, due to my two mistakes and my general newbie learning curve....I lost $ on my first sale. Lesson learned. SO! Thank you. If you're reading through comments but haven't watched the video- watch and take notes. You'll avoid my mistakes as a new shop owner on Etsy. :)

    I jumped into Etsy POD head first watching videos, thinking I had it all down. Boy what an eye opener that was I was so overwhelmed. Ended up with a big mess to clean up. I have about 140 listings. Lots and lots actual Visits but literally 1 sale in over 2 years. It was giving me so much anxiety I was ready to throw in the towel. Thank goodness I found your videos. Thank you so much for being so thorough.❤

    Hello Mandy. I really enjoy the content creation of your channel. I spent a lot of time watching your videos and found many of them very useful. Thank you for the output. I have read your Printify Blog Story and you mentioned in the section 'The Design Hack That Made It Happen' that I selected idea or font that I liked and made several designs around a single element I think how do you identify these design elements as best-selling or popular, and how do you surround a single element to make seasonal designs? I think this is important but difficult. I hope you can output a video about this topic,Thanks for your reply 🎉

    Learned this...yes, from a German buyer. Only took once to learn, and now my lesson is learned! Wayyy underestimated shipping. It wasn't on a POD item. Luckily, the buyer was going to Las Vegas to see her sister, so it saved me $75. I have shipped to Quebec and Germany on POD hats and have had no problems with returns or VAT, but I present a lot of pictures so buyers know exactly what the items will look like. What I find interesting is POD places do limit popular countries that they will ship to, such as France, Italy Norway, etc. Really depends on the product. Has this been your experience?

    OMG Mandy I wish I had seen your video when I started my shop six months ago... My shipping profiles are a jumble... sigh I didn't figure this out until about 100 listings in - that I needed to have some order to the madness... Thanks so much for doing these great videos focusing on these 'unglamorous topics' that are so important... You're doing a great job! BTW - my shop is now over 400 Listings - It will be a task to clean them all up - but I'm going to tackle it with your clear info on 'how to' --- Alternatively, I've thought of opening another shop and start off clean and simple... WWYD? aka what would you do? BTW - I'm a former HR Gal like yourself PLUS - I stumbled upon your OTHER videos about a year ago and they really helped... You are such an inspiration :)

      I wouldn't start over! Create each of the new shipping profiles that you want to use, and then use Etsy's bulk edit to make changes (you can select your entire store or even just an entire section at a time and move a bunch all at once). Even if you've already got some moved, you can still select them and move them. Sometimes I've done it by keyword too - for example if I want to move all of my totes to a new shipping profile and I know that I have "tote" in all of the titles, I can type in "tote" under my shop listings page, select all of the tote listings, click on the Editing Options drop-down, and then click on Change shipping profile. And it'll make the changes to all of the totes all at once. Hope that helps. You got this!!

    Hey Mandy! Could you please explain a little more about shipping to Canada ? How is that set up done? I am just opening up my shop and decided to just ship to US for shipping prices and to avoid delivery delays… now you say You have a different profile with duplium… when a friend in Canada looks at my shops there is a message that says I don’t ship to Canada to contact seller.. how do I set it up so they can just place the order… without having the no delivery to Canada message? Is it ok to double the listing with specific print provider and have it be seen only to the country it ships? Thank you so much!

    Hi Mandy - it's so funny when you talk about all the shipping profiles. When I was new - I didn't understand how profiles worked - and I had over a 100 different profile one for each listing until I got a clue what was happening. But I do have a question - I have my first sale to Germany doing print on demand - and there is a note that says to provide courier with Etsy's ioss number - but then Printify says they have their own number. Do we have to do anything with Etsy's ioss number when using printify?

    Hi, Mandy thank you for all you do I really enjoyed your free course. Is it possible to manually select a different pod provider in printify with cheaper shipping say the same t-shirt on the same listing and change, one to swift pod for the USA and then if I get a UK customer change the provider to MANm which is cheaper for uk customers? I am from Northern Ireland and postage cost are really high to European countries with the top providers based in the US. I hope that makes sense Jackie

    Hi Mandy. My question is I don't understand how much the customer paid - let's say they buy 2 of the same sweatshirt. So both sweatshirt x the price and then add shipping services + additional item shipped cost?
    So it means by goving the price that covered on the first shipping is enough? Because the second is already give more profit?
    The thing is I don't understand how to craft the shipping profiles just in case they by two or more of my sweatshirt. Hahaha. I really want to be as passive once done just enough thing. Hahahaha.
    Thank you for the knowledge. I fell in love with the whole Etsy course. It's soooo goood!

    • @studiomdesignsco
      @studiomdesignsco  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I always use a profit calculator to price my items per unit and tend to prefer to roll most (if not all) of the shipping costs into the retail price the customer pays. By doing so, I can keep the shipping profiles much more simplified (or even offer free shipping) because I know that I've already covered the item and shipping cost up front in the price (so regardless of how many they purchase, I'm always making a profit). Hope that helps!

    • @m2mdohkun
      @m2mdohkun ปีที่แล้ว

      @@studiomdesignsco Thank you. Sorry for the typo. I just recently dis5cover how to put the secondary shipping price. Hahaha.
      At first I was puzzled how to calculate the free shipping for more than two items bought, and then it clicks. I understand now. And yes, I do use the etsyhunt calculator.
      My next mission is to reverse engineer the price so when it includes the tax? the vat? (Etsy fee I think) so the final price will always end up .99. At first I always set the price .99, but the final price changes when the listing is live. Now it puzzled me again. Hahahaha

    I do have a question though. How do I compete with the other sellers who are charging less than what I have to pay for the printify blank itself? I don’t have Printify premium beyond have no sales and no profit and have already put hundreds of dollars into my POD business.

    • @studiomdesignsco
      @studiomdesignsco  11 วันที่ผ่านมา

      It all comes down to designs - if your designs look like everyone else's at the lower price point then you won't be able to compete on price. However if you are making unique designs, customers will pay for it because they can't get it anywhere else :)

    Hi Mandy ... I've tried to change in my Etsy store the printify monster digital and clear out the long name (assign name) and it won't let me? I did create the printify in Etsy but when try to choose it from my printify creating area it will not let me use the printify monster address? It will not let me move/save it either when I'm on Etsy trying to edit it it is grayed out? I'm confused and stuck... lol. Don't know how to even try and delete it to try and make a new profile to start out it says the profile is already created? 🙄

      I currently only ship to the U.S. and Canada so I don’t have to bother with customs or VAT. I’ve heard people doing pretty will with Australia though, and many people sell to European countries (you just have to be real careful about the extra costs involved and different return policy requirements) 😊
