Attitude of Gratitude 🙏 ❤ Thank Your for a quick but fully detailed guide ❤️🔥💯
Appreciate your hard work in sharing knowledge that you have accumulated.
This is exactly what I am looking for. Thank you for being so honest and straight to the point. New subscriber now.
Thanks for this info Greg! I found your channel three days ago, and created my first ten designs last night! I was going to make an etsy account this morning, but came back to your page to find a walk through for that. So glad you just posted this!! SCRAPPING Etsy for now and going with your recommendations. Thank you!
Right on! Nice work!! I’m here if you run into any questions 👍
Can you tell me please which platform you use for design?
So if you are an Amazon affiliate can u also get paid when they buy the print on demand products through your link?
thanks for the honesty... I just launched a shopify store.... this week because I created digital products and wanted to have POD products as well. but just learned in a video prior this one that you have to pay for the POD item first with Printify/ printiful and you're right alot of youtubers do not mention that in their videos when they push to start a POD business. Thank you for also sharing about Passive POD vs Active POD. and some Passive POD sites! I am going to sign up asap!
You have no business trying to start a business if you can't float a couple of bucks for a sold item for 24 hours! If you list your POD item on Etsy, the customer pays up front. Etsy pays out daily. So unless you have zero dollars in your bank account. You shouldn't have any issue using Printful or Printify.
@@CS-uc2oh sweetheart I never stated I didn’t have the money I shared watching other POD TH-cam videos paying for it isn’t mentioned, alluring to some TH-camrs aren’t sharing vital information and make POD sound like it is a very easy 1,2,3 go formula when it’s not. The Devil is in the details. Premise of my comment is glad this video was honest about the details. Bc there are people out there that may not have the money and not know from watching others that claim it’s free and easy to start up.
thank you, you made my mind more open to start a print on demand business, many youtube videos discuss and make me confused, but what you said really helped me. i appreciate what you said.

This video really got me thinking! As someone interested in starting a print-on-demand business, it's eye-opening to hear about your experiences and the reasons behind your choice. It's crucial to weigh the pros and cons of different platforms before diving in, and your insights definitely shed light on some important considerations. Thanks for sharing your perspective!

I had not considered this as an option until now. Me and my wife started creating vinyl shirts in our home on the side a few years ago with a Criket and a good headpress. We recently started getting into DFT and sublimation after buying and modifying printers. We are doing it the hard way and making way less in the process when you consider the time it takes to do it all yourself. We are going to do a 180 and concentrate on marketing instead of making!
I just found your video and believe it or not I was in the process of making some designs to sell and and now I will give the passive P. O. D a try.
Ahhhh man just started my printify/etsy shop lol, newer subscriber and happy I found your channel 🤝🏿.
lol ahhhh hopefully you're not too deep in it yet! If you run into any questions as you're going forward just let me know 👍
Thank you so much. I am new to POD and am using Printful to print product for my Etsy store. It takes so much time and the learning curve was a lot of trial and error. I will watch the full tutorial for sure. 🙂
It doesn't get any easier than Printful to Etsy. I don't even know what to say if you think it's hard. You create a template for your products in Printful and then just click "add to store"! I can do 100 products easy in a day.
It is far from being easy to get accepted to Amazon merch on demand. Many get rejected

Hi Greg, thank you for this video. Can you use the passive sites for other POD items, such as journals, cups, etc?
Thanks you so much, I was stuck on making Active Print On Demand when I wanted Passive. I didn't realize that until I saw this video, I had nearly 100 listings on Etsy. Thanks man
Glad to help, it's crazy how different the business models can be within the same overall business of print on demand. If you run into any questions just give me a shout 👍
Hey Greg 👋 excellent and well-informed video! Do you have any videos on how to create an active pod site for social media? I love the passive but I'm not sure how you can advertise the pod passive on your different sm channels like TH-cam or Facebook? Is there a less coss effective platform besides Shopify? Thanks for your time and expertise. I'm glad to be one of your subscribers. 😊
Thanks so much for demystifying Amazon POD. This does seem to be much easier than Printify + Shopify. I'm a long-time designer so hoping my designs work.
Glad it was helpful! Here's a bit more in-depth info too: th-cam.com/video/-hV1199wN0k/w-d-xo.html Also some more Amazon specific info coming soon 👍
Great video. I had no idea this was another option to POD. I’m sure each platform has a different pricing model. This is definitely something I’ll make my next move too. I just opened an Etsy shop. I am still slowly learning the ropes. I love the SEO component that passive POD uses. That is my biggest learning curve, interpreting information on e-rank and hoping it works. I understand that with time practice will improve this process. Did I mention I’m not a patient person? 🤣🤣. Thanks for sharing so openly. You are definitely a subscription channel for me.
Well, good luck on artsy, don’t believe all the Etsy gurus out there. They just opened the market to China, it won’t be as easy as those few people, here on YT, are telling you it is, and most of their Etsy info is garbage.
Greg, thanks for all of your information. It has been very helpful. I was planning to start my POD work with Red Bubble but when I looked into the new tier system fees it hardly seems worth it. For startups they will be taking a HUGE percentage of your profits. Any thoughts on this? How does this compare to the margins for other selling outlets? Thanks!
Not only does no one Shop on Red Bubble (seriously, I'm sure you've never in your life heard of anyone buying from there), but it's hard to not have them disable your listings and accounts. On that site, just about anything gets hit for copyright even if it's wrong.
Such valuable insights! Understanding the distinction between active and passive print-on-demand methods is crucial for success in the t-shirt business. Leveraging platforms like Amazon Merch on Demand can streamline the process and maximize profitability. 💡
This is truly great!!
Thank you!
You're welcome! If you run into any questions just give me a shout!
Greg I have a seller account, and I use the Amazon API to link with printful so the orders are placed, fulfilled and shipped automatically. The only thing is, yes, customer service is needed if there are any issues. But I use this process when I know there is a shirt I want to sell that falls outside the Merch guidelines.
Printify now has its own store as well. With my printify yes I bring my own traffic but if they buy from my store they are paying for the product outright and I get paid on the 14th of each month.
Really good info!
Printify does have a free pop up store so you dont need a website. I recommend your own site but the pop up store is an option. Ive used that option for a couple local businesses I designed their website and linked their pop up for company merch. I have full Wordpress POD site but Im going to apply to Amazon after coming across your video. I do a several things to make money but want to pair down with POD and my design services. I love do branding and web design and add in POD. Thanks for sharing.
You don’t have to do just Shopify with Printful or Printify. They also integrate with Walmart, TikTok Shop, etc.
Yes you are spot on 👍👍
Thank you Kimberly 👍
Kimberly… when you say ‘They’ who or what are you referring to?

I used Printify and I didnt make any money. I did about 4 sales in 3 months. Printify isnt clear with what it costs to used them. Then Etsy takes out more fees which left me in the hole on each sale. I closed my shop today which I had about 105 products listed. I didnt like how Printify charged me for each purchase and then etsy takes out fees from what the customer paid and left me with no profit.
Dang, that's annoying. Sorry to hear that. I would suggest uploading the designs you have already made to the passive sites. Free to do, you won't be charged anything ever, and they'll get traffic organically 👍
Great video I've been interested on passive pod 😁 does red bubble and tee public have a link of your profile to share on your social media accounts?
hi! thanks so much for such an informational video :) i have been researching some active vs passive POD sites and im curious whether i can do both? can i list something on teepublic and also have a store front on etsy...or is that not recommended? would love to gain some insight!

That is great . . . Thanks@
How is the quality of the passive POD products? Like with Printify I was able to buy and test the quality of their shirts as well as the print and pick the shirt brand that I preferred, as well as the printshop. Can you select a printshop/product, or is there just one main printshop/brand? And then is the main site basically responsible for everything like customer reviews and stuff? Seems like on Amazon, if theyre the ones that mess up, your product is still gonna get the bad review, right? Also, seems like pod products on Amazon are usually not great quality.
Hi Greg- I know many people get declined when they apply for a Merch on Demand account with Amazon. If that happens, is it possible to sell passive print on demand products using Amazon Seller Central and using Amazon to fulfill the orders or is this a case where I would have to use something like Printiful to create the products?
Which is best redbubble or teepublic which I do best please advise
Thank you for distinguishing active and passive POD. I thought all were passive.

@@GregGottfried I'm now looking at your other videos for the questions that came up after this. I'm now wanting to see of how to start a passive pod with no copyright infringement of the design I'd make.
They are. It's clear this guy has no idea what he's talking about. If you use Printful, you connect it to your Etsy shop for free and they handle EVERYTHING.
thank you
Not sure if its just me. But @Greg i did not hear you talk about the downside of using Etsy.
Hey sorry about that. In short, they are a mix of active and passive. They bring the traffic from their marketplace, but all the other cons of the active sites still apply. More detail specifically on Etsy here: th-cam.com/video/m2v5bifoIX0/w-d-xo.html
How does one market themselves or how are they found if one specifically wants to purchase products from a specific seller if a personalized page isn't created on Amazon or Red Bubble for example in the way Spotify is?
I'm such a printify fan, and this video was so helpful in general. Pd: could you share us your opinion about other providers like awkward styles or gelato?
wow thankyou
Could you use both active and passive POD or will sites ask for exclusivity? so could I use printify and amazon at the same time?
HI, I have learned a lot from your videos. Thank you. Off your recommendation I uploaded 12 of my designs to tee public. However, they assigned me as an apprentice status and will not allow my designs to be searched or are they listed the category. They require me to have a social media presence and/or website. Do you have insight on this? It is no longer passive if I am now advertising my teepublic link to make $3 a shirt. Shouldn't I just advertise my website? Am I missing something? Thank you for your time.
Hey Jenny, I'll see if I can put together a designated video on this but it's just because it's a brand new account. Essentially, they label every new account as "Apprentice" but it automatically changes to "Artisan" once you upload enough designs and they see you're not a bot spamming the platform. They do this so brand new accounts that use bots to upload thousands of designs automatically don't all show up on the marketplace as spam.
@@GregGottfried Thank you for the clarification. I don't want to keep uploading designs without a real time line of when the account will change over to artisan. Thanks again for all your good info!
@@jennyhernandez6031it changes when you got a sale and a review. So I bought one of my own creation. I'll if my status changes then
I have started creating t shirt designs and haven't made a sale yet.. I have seen many youtube influencers speak about shopify etsy but they dont tell us the truth about it except you. I am looking forward to try affiliate soon enough. I am still in doubt about kicking off well in affiliate. We , Indians, do not have access for amazon merch. Hopefully, they will make us eligible too soon. Thank you for teaching m things that I didn't know exist
Do we have to have a tin # for these passive print on design sites? I'm trying to get started. Also do you know if we cab just have a design printed out to do our own tee shirts at home.
Great question. No you do not for all of them. Teepublic and Redbubble allow you to enter your PayPal email address to be paid, but Amazon Merch On Demand requires a social security number, TIN, or EIN. This is just so they can keep track of who they've paid with the IRS.
Can you please tell me the profit margin..online vs having own equipment? Approximately..thank you

Are you allowed to personalized the shirts on these websites?
Thanks Greg! I definitely preferred the passive route to begin with. That way, I could work on my other projects.
So now that I have so many different things going on, I’m trying to learn e-commerce and building my own website so that I can route all my projects to and from my website. Greg do you have a step by step how to sell T shirt and mug online
For passive sites how do you choose what T-shirt type they will print your design on
Do you what print on demand companies offer integration with Amazon and TikTok Shop?
If you have a site already, can it be linked to the passive sites?
Can you do both? Active and passive POD with your designs
Yes, absolutely 👍

@@danavainsteina3923No problem, Redbubble and TeePublic :)
Do you have a video on how to start your own clothing brand this way until you can afford to go through a manufacture through Alibara or similar?
I don’t unfortunately. Active POD sites would give you the most customizability as far as the types of clothing, printing areas, tags, and packaging.
Hi Greg! I don't understand why Etsy/Printify isn't "passive POD". It sure seems that way. That said, I plan to use TeePublic based on your last video.
Which platform would you suggest to sell POD candles and which POD should I use to make the candles? Im planning to create my own designs on Canva. I was thinking on using Printify and sell them on Etsy.
Merchize could be a good option, you can have a look on their website
Thanks for your information. Its so helpful. But I really want to buy embroidered jersey, beside Printify, pls suggest me some suppliers that have good products and competitive base cost. Thanks so much
How about in the U.K. and France?
What do you think of RB new artist payment tiers? I have almost 3000 designs and am a Professional Graphic Artist selling monthly there and they put me in Standard Tier which seriously reduses my profits! I also, market for RB and contacted them to review my shop and they still wouldn't move me up in tiers.
the new tier system sucks... u really end up just making change... I also read around that their quality (both prints and shirts) are awful which doesn't help them with bad pr following :\
@@vforvillainess I purchased many different item samples and white designs are great, color gets muted on black tees. All other samples I received were beautiful & high quality including cards/stickers/photo prints/mugs/hats/notebooks etc! Same question here.
Do you have a way to upload your designs to Amazon Merch, RedBubble, and TeePublic all at the same time or do you upload each one at a time? Thanks!

I think you can reapply right away 👍 I recommend watching this video first to get the best chances on your application:
th-cam.com/video/gWJvAFi692A/w-d-xo.html
Once you are rejected, if you try again with your same email address Amazon will immediate terminate your request. You will have to use a different email address to re-apply.
@@louisd95714 I don't believe the email address is the revealing factor. Names, locations, and IP addresses are stored on a cookie server. I've attempted to use three different devices with three distinct email addresses, yet before I could complete the process, I received a response stating that I already have an account on file. I possess a seller account for FBA and KDP; however, I was informed that the merch account is separate.
This is assuming that we can get approved through Merch. Some of us didn't, so now we go the Etsy route. Also, I would do both to increase income & not have all my sales on one platform.

Dang, I hope you get more luck on an upcoming application. I don't know if they put preference on any particular location, at least I haven't heard anything credible about that.
what will happen if i use 3 of them at the same time also uploading the same merch on each of them?

I am new and was thinking about passive but now that you mention it, is there advantages with active? Like can you make more money since you are doing more of the work? or more control. Just wondering.....
Great question. You get more products to print on, and you can scale faster with paid advertising. Granted, paid ads are hard to get right, but when you do you, if you've got a budget for it, you can scale really fast! I hope that helps!
@@GregGottfried oh wow! so taking on the paid advertising route is the way with active. That's interesting and very hard LOL Thanks for clarifying the advantages

Do any of these offer branding on the tags?
Can I set up multiple "Stores" on the different passive sites for different genres?
Yes absolutely! They marketing your listings individually on the marketplaces though so you may not even need to make designated stores 👍
