Congrats reaching the 1K subs , Steve. Awesome job explaining the pros and cons of the 2 rods with the respective double jigs.

Thx Mark! I just fixed the motor for a 12 foot Al boat and tried it. It’s still good crappie fishing here. Let me know when you visit MA or Boston in the future. We can get on the same boat and fish together!

We typically use 1/16 at the bottom and 1/32 at top for double jig. You use the other way around. I understand your reason from another video. I will give it a try. Thanks for sharing!

Yes I think it’s reasonable to keep the smaller one at the lower position. I have shot a video comparing the 2 jigs in such rigs. The lower smaller jig caught much more fish. I will post it in the near future.

    Thanks! Nice rod! Nice catches!
I like the more sturdy medium action rods too •
Won't the crappie spit the jig out if you wait too long??

That’s the beauty of the forgiving tip. They can’t feel if!

    Can a 6'9 ultralight work with a 500 reel

I believe so, anyway you can’t cast it super far with that lure weight. Just be very cautious on breaking the rod tip. Check out my other video where I filmed the tip broke on me…
