    Looking forward to introducing my nephew to fishing with this rod. Hoping its ultralight action makes even the smallest fish lots of fun!

      This rod definitely makes fighting smaller fish a lot of fun. Hope he likes it.

    Cool upload👍🏻
    Rod looks like a blast to fish. How do you think a modern 500 sized reel would work on that 5’? Maybe a nasci. Thinking of that setup for a “true” UL rig on the kayak.

      I think something small like that would work great. I have fished 1000 reels on this and it's perfect.

    Great vid. I'm new to the freshwater fishing. Pretty nice how you pointed out how balanced it is. 👍

    What type of fishing line are you using is a mono or fluorocarbon

    • @TheFishingNomad
      @TheFishingNomad  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's fluorocarbon, 4 pound Berkeley Vanish. Link to all equipment is in the description.

      I personally would spool the reel in 6 lb suffex brade and then use a 4 lb floral leader its what I run on all my ul setups and I use brade on all my spinning reals becasu it stops that line memory that cousis the looping in the line

    How do you get a 110.00 rod for 40.00 ? What is the accounting trick ?

      $60 off when you get a Bass Pro Shops credit card.

      Aah. Thank you for video. I have the St Croix Panfish that I use with trout magnet 1/64 jigs and 1 inch gulp minnows. I find it the tip a little “ whippy “ for the plastic trout magnet bodies. I use the BnM TCB rod for trout magnet jigs and bodies. Please consider a video testing the BnM TCB rod, made in collaboration with Leland lures for use with their Trout Magnets.
      Thanks Again

    How well do you think a new model Pflueger Supreme 25 would pair with this for bream?

    • @TheFishingNomad
      @TheFishingNomad  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I know absolutely nothing about Pfliegers. If 25 is the equivalent of 2500 in Daiwa and Shimano language, I think it would be slightly too larger/heavy. I'd stick to something in the 1000 or 2000 size range (or their Pflueger equivalent).

      @@SalvagedSinner I've gotta be honest and say I don't know as much about reels as I do rods. I would recommend the channel i_fish on here, he does a lot of great reviews on everything ultralight. He hasn't steered me wrong yet. Here's a link to his most recent ultralight reel guide.

      Generic Bass Pro Shops brand one. I think it was like $7 by the registers in the store.

    How was the reel seat? Do the threads bother you?

    • @TheFishingNomad
      @TheFishingNomad  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Reel seat is very nice. I was worried about two things, first the threads and also the very thick/fat upper portion. The threads don't bother me at all. I think it's because they are very small and very few of them actually make contact with my palm. The upper portion of the seat is also very pleasant to hold. Can't really explain it any better, but it just feels good in hand.

      @TheFishingNomad  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@mandogfish7418 Yup I saw that. If I remember correctly it doesn't have any cork and all foam which is a downer for me. I am curious though how the rod itself will perform. I'll probably end up getting it anyway.
