i really liked the boom 2, i ordered another one to pair them in stereo, should sound even better. Also, buy blue color, it looks WAY better than green or black.
Thank you for doing a teardown, Seems like a good value for the price. it's unfortunate the grill is glued down as bad as it is & they actually advertise the "woofer" to be 50w when in reality the amplifier is only 40w, also let's be realistic those tweeters are probably never going to see more then like 10w each so I'd say at most this speaker is 60 RMS. The 80 watts is probably an a absolute maximum power rating. I am curious how low does this speaker play? Would it satisfy a basshead? I'm kinda thinking on getting one but if it doesn't go down to at least 40hz i don't see the point, i can always get it and return it if i am not satisfied but that's just an extra hassle I'd rather not deal with if i don't have to, otherwise this seems like it's going to be quite the competitor for what it's currently priced at.
Hey bro do you think there is some way of removing the grill actually without damaging it? cause i have the speaker for half a year and i want so badly to remove the cover to see the woofer in action it would be fun!
@@speakerblowupmanlee5921 I don't really know i only have an alcohol that is 70 degrees celsious i dunno if that would work bro but thanks for the reply!

Have both the Motion boom plus and the Boom 2 and I find with the Boom plus without Bass up on and a nice v shape eq it's louder and a tad sharper sounding than the Boom 2 which again with EQ (and Bass up) has a bit deeper bass than the motion boom plus but not quite the same oomph but linking both in party mode both seem to compliment each other quite well and maybe 60% is loads of volume if you have neighbours... I also have multiple vintage Hifi setups and loads of Headphones / earbuds so I'm not coming here as a Newbie.... Crazy sound and output for the money on the Boom 2....
It isn't bad, but the mlove a200 has a crazier sound and output than the anker, all while being cheaper. There's also the avantree powerbyte, which is good and cheaper too.
Very unlikely as it is smd soldered and the traces might be peeled off. It would be very difficult to repair unless anker send you a replacement board.
Ill keep it for a few years maybe less and sell it or give it away and use something else almost no Bluetooth speaker manufacturer offer removable battery's on speakers this size anyway so cant really say soundcore sucks for that
Don't do the firmware update on the boom 2. I read a review on Amazon where a person said that it sounded really good straight out of the box. A message from Soundcore appeared instructing him to do the upgrade, & after the update the speaker sounded muddy in comparison before the update. Buyer beware!
I received mine on the latest firmware two days ago and it was bright out of the box, not horrible unlike other speakers I heard but still bright. I needed to use the EQ to make it less treble heavy. I like neutral sounding (or warm) speakers, any kind of boosted treble actively hurt my ears so I know what I'm talking about lol
@@speakerblowupmanlee5921 you played one of the worst tracks to check a speaker. You can check the vocals but what about the mids and the major part - bass There is no beat no nothing in those tracks how can I check the base
The speakers sounds amazing wow
Thank you. Been waiting on a tear down of this. Not opening without tearing it up sucks! So now it’s basically a throw away speaker. Shame Soundcore👎🏻

45hz is about the deepest it goes while being audible. The major problem with this speaker is how muffled it is.
Just get the onyx 6 it goes as deep as the boom box 2 for half the size
@@darrenwipf9868 it does but I don't think it is as loud as the bb2.
Use a heat gun to warm up the glue and use plastic pry tools so it can be removed easier and probably not damage the grill.
Sounds doable. I'm just worried about damaging the speaker driver.
I have a question. Is the gill of this speaker fragile? It's made of plastic and I have that doubt to decide on it. 😅
The speaker itself is durable. The grills are metal so it's prone to dents
@@speakerblowupmanlee5921 Thank you!! But they told me that the Soundcore Boom 2 speaker brings the plastic hat.

Yes if you consider the price.
