    Just a tip I see often that I didn't see here? After applying builder gel, flip the nail over for about 10 seconds before curing. It will help create a natural Apex. Additionally- You can also use a thin brush (or brush edge corner) to gently draw a line down the center vertically to draw the gel in towards the height of where you want your Apex to be (just before or during your "flipover").

    I switched to BIAB on natural nails from acrylic extensions and my nails have grown so long and strong. A few years ago I wouldn’t have dreamt of not having acrylics, 3 months in to my BIAB journey my natural nails looks like acrylic extensions. I highly recommend the switch, it will save your nail’s health and make you fall in love with your natural nails.

    I only use Madam Glam builder gels in the salon. One suggestion, it is recommended that you apply the MG base coat to the nail before you apply the builder gel. Gives more protection to the natural nail.
    Also there are manicure bowls that you can get that snap into a base. For your removal, you can put hot water in the base snap the top in and put your acetone in. Hot water makes the acetone work faster

    This is awesome! Question: I've tried this but I end up with a ledge where the tip meets the natural nail. Is it the way I'm placing the tip do you think? (My tips have a "well" does yours?) Also, have you tried to dip over builder gel? When I do it seems to get too thick. Any suggestions?

    • @katesnails
      @katesnails  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      hi! this is a normal thing. usually i will file down where the tip meets the natural nail to make it a more smooth transition. then after applying all of the product i will usually file quite a bit to make it unnoticeable! 🥰

    For different colours, could I apply gel polish on top of the builder gel? Would this require a base coat or just directly on top of the builder gel?

    • @katesnails
      @katesnails  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      yes you can! if you file the builder gel before, you can typically go right in with the gel polish color. however, adding a base coat won’t hurt.

      I recommend making sure the surface of the builder gel has some texture to it (slight scratches from a file) to make sure that the gel has something to grip to when applied on top!

      No a rubber base gel is a bit thinner than a builder gel, Although it’s thicker than a regular gel basecoat. And the builder gel can be soak off or can be hard gel(file off) so it’s usually stronger one cured. A rubber base gel It’s always soak off and it doesn’t provide the same strength as a builder gel.

      @katesnails  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      hmmm. it could be incorrect application of the product, or it could be regarding the prep. i’m not really sure what the case is!

    • @randimaxam3144
      @randimaxam3144 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Did you file & buff your natural nail before adding a base gel or your Builder gel? That is most likely why it peels sometimes...i could be wrong. Also did you use prep & primer? How thick are you applying your builder gel? I had the same problem the 1st time I applied this builder gel but I did all these things the next time & it didnt peel on me. I just have to get the apex part down a little better. Hope this helps:/ have fun 💅🏻

      @NadineBasenga 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@randimaxam3144 thank you so much, I'll try this method I don't spend much time on my prep and I might be applying layers too thick because when it peeled of it was sticky and still abit wet with some gel.

    • @randimaxam3144
      @randimaxam3144 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@NadineBasenga Ah, I see. Prepping your natural nails & cleaning up your cuticles is a very important step & most of your time spent doing your nails will be the prep work. You have to ruff up your natural nail in order for the base gel or any gels to stick & not peel early. Also very thin layers of all gel products is a must for it to fully cure. Be sure to wipe your sticky layer off with some alcohol when your ready for filing the 2nd time. When I 1st started gel I did not know anything about the sticky layer some gels leave, so therefore I was like why isn't my nails curing in my lamp? So ID leave it in longer than recommend time. Lol, still didn't fix my problem until I googled it. I felt kinda silly. But again, hope this will help. Im still learning myself(: it's fun & I learn something new daily with youtube on my speed dial! (: have a blessed day

      @@randimaxam3144 thank you so much, you literally described what I'm going through. I always thought it's my lamp and I don't cure my nails long enough. And even when it peels off, you can see the difference in layers. So I will definitely try this 😊❤️
