Hi Stu ! Keep up the good work, you guys should film some of your mechanics working to, like replacing new LR rads adding your Intercoolers and EGR removal and your injector cleaning. Maybe even your elusive leader can say a few words and as an Icon of LR tuning viewers will listen to his every word. Your channel should have at least ten times the subscribers and growing as your passion keeps our Iconic LR vehicles A live…. My own Alive upgrades are being added finally after upgrading nearly everything on my 1999 Defender TD5 10p (Gary special) so can’t wait to see the usability transformation that you guys continually deliver for your customers. I will be back on the greenlanes shortly fully Alive tuned… keep your videos coming and with more frequency please. Thank you
Keep up the good work! A really good shout about the injectors I think. I put a full new gen set of green tops in our Disco a few months ago, it’s like new again now only got 225,000miles on it 😂 Please can we meet some of the other alive team members in the videos ? I’ve spoken to probably all of you at different times just not yet made the treck up from the south east to meet in person yet!
Our latest GTB550 video, or at least, Part 2 of it (going live this coming Sunday) shows very similar issues with the injectors on that car, so we installed some brand new injectors (and a lot more!) to get it back to where it should be. The end result is spectacular and totally smoke free!
Well done lads👍🏼 Pretty keen to bring mine in for a revision on the map and maybe try your gtb 550😁 Sense I came in 7 years ago my td5 still going strong running your predator stage 4 map and turbo Thanks you guys again
Things have come on a long way since, so a chance for us to refresh your Td5’s tuning would make for a great feature, as we’ve done before. Hope to hear from you again soon. 🙂
The Alive uprated Td5 cylinder head stud & nut kit is recommended for our higher-powered conversions, although at this level, if the engine is healthy, the stock head bolts should suffice. Certainly, had we gone for a more "full on" level of tune with this, then it’s something we'd recommend being installed within the near future. Our head stud & nut kits are manufactured for us by a long-established UK based engineering company, responsible for engine components of cars competing at the very highest level of motorsport, using materials we can barely pronounce! Some may argue they're too good for a Land Rover, but for us, the cost is unimportant and having used these for almost a decade, on some of the UK's most accomplished Td5 powered race cars, we've proven they can deal with whatever we can throw at them.
Slogging my way through the bodges I've found on my D2 P15 TD5 manual. AMC head is in, now looking at bigger intercoolers/turbo etc. It's looking like I'm going to need it mapping, when all the bits are in. How is the reliability, in your experience, in tuned TD5's?
There’s no easy answer to your questions, Jim. If you give our office a call, our guys can talk you through the options and possibilities to ensure you’re aware of the potential costs and we’ll ensure you get the right parts to meet, if not exceed your expectations. 🙂
Love it! I will keep my eyes and ears open for that defender as he is from my neck of the woods😎

Great video and love the enthusiasm. I keep seeing a little MR2 in the background would be good to see that on the rolling road / dyno.
Nice linear map Stu. I should really bring my D3 over for you guys to work a bit of magic on. Chasing a minor boost leak at the minute though.

Hi stu I believe you fitted my vvti 220 hybrid turbo to my TD5 defender 90 3 years ago and she’s putting out about 225 bhp 😊
Well done lads👍🏼

Great video stuart 👍 are the uprated head bolts needed with the gtb550?

Is the GTB450 more suited to low RPM torque and 550 better for top end power?
What sort of egt are you getting over that run ?

Hi Stuart!
What was the max turbo pressure on the road uphill?
Peak turbo pressure is set at 2.1bar on this Defender.
Wow. Thanks!
Get rid of the manifold and fit a stainless
The factory exhaust manifold is good for up to 250hp, which is well within where this car is.
