  • In this video I go through the usage of software. Step by step I show what I do, and how smart SharpCaps Livestacking is. I also show breifly how I use APT or Astro Photography Tool, to platesolve. Furthermore I go through the steps to Polar Align in SharpCap Pro.
    Equipment used is: Meade 10" LX90, 0.63 FocalReducer, TS Astro 80mm Guidescope, Altair 130C Guidecamera and Altair 183C Maincamera

    Klaus, I learnt so much from your last video. Now I am ready to learn from this Video. You make things very clear. I can't wait to use your methods with my new Altair astro camera. Thank you!

      Oh my god, I am overwhelmed with joy. I am so pleased that you find it educational. That was the intention. Though I have been told I maybe spell it out to much, like talking to a child. That has never been my intention. I only just want everyone, to overcome the steep learning curve, that almost overcame me.

    Hi Klaus, another great video and thanks very much for sharing it, one question though is when and how did you focus the guidecam on this video?

    • @skatter3112
      @skatter3112  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The guidecam is focused using the naked eye. Focus in a guidetrain is not critical. Thank you for watching my videoes and great thanks for commenting, it gives me energy to make new ones. The next will be a deeper insight to Sharpcap.

    After an image is taken, how can I see the details or data about the
    image at a later date? Like Exposure Time, Gain or ISO, coordinates of
    the sky at the time of image, etc. Is this possible? Thanks.

      If you load your images to DSS it shows. I even think you can rightclick your files and look under properties.

    Hi Klaus, as a complete newbie I find your video really really helpful but triggers more, which I'm sure are very basic, questions. For example, when setting an exposure of say 60 secs, would that be 60 secs per frame? If so, then how can I set the number of frames per session? When Live Stacking, does the software continue capturing frames until I say enough is enough or does it time out ? If I can solve these questions then I'm all set - I hope :-))

    • @skatter3112
      @skatter3112  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I am glad you find it helpfull.
      Yes it would be 60s per frame or sub or picture or what you prefer to call it.
      Later development of Sharpcap has a build in sequence generator I think, here you can set your number of frames. I always just shoot till I cant wait anymore to see a result.
      When Livestacking you just continue till you cant anymore (HD space, Time or patience)
      When Livestacking your frames can be saved individually to make a session in DSS or any other stacking software.
      Hope you find the answers helpfull aswell :-)
      Do please watch the rest of the series, maybe youll find gold here aswell.
