  • In this video I go through a deeper insight into livestacking in SharpCap.
    I always use livestack, as I find it rewarding to see the nights image getting better and better with the subs flying in. I also go through the making and use of Flats, and Darks for your imaging session.
    Additional tips will be shown if you turn on the subtitles!
    In this video I used a Meade LX90 10" ACF, Meade 4000 series 0.63 Focalreducer, Altair 183c, Altair 130c, Astrooptics 80mm guidescope, Meade Standard Wedge, Powered 8 port USB3.0 Hub.

    Hi Klaus, your 4 videos are the main go to sources of help and inspiration for me and I have learnt so much from them but I still have a lot more to learn lol, what would be a really cool video would be more detail on how to set up the hardware and then how to set up APT, PHD2 and Sharpcap to be used with the hardware, I think the initial installation and set up is very important as if mistakes are made there it has a huge impact on results but once again many thanks for the time and effort you put into sharing your experiance.

      Hi Klaus, I notice you dont use the guide port on your cameras, is there a reason you dont use them? I also notice when you are polar aligning you dont have your main camera attached, is that because it would hit the forks of the mount? is there a risk of the camera hitting the forks when the scope is slewing to other targets and if so how do you prevent that?
      Thanks
      Les

      @@lesbooth2391 Good observations. I use ascom for guiding, thats why the st4 port is left empty.
      The main camera is of because theres not room enough for it, when in polar homeposition.
      I visually watch the slew to target. After that I hope nothing happens.
      If the camera hit the base or fork, it will be a gentle bump, and the phd2 will loose track, due to no room for movement. I watch the guidegraph all session, so I will notice the drift quickly.

      @@skatter3112 hi Klaus and I hope the weather is kind to you, had some really clear nights in U.K. but I’m still waiting for my guidescope to arrive from Teleskop and my Lepus focal reducer to arrive from USA so not much chance at astrophotography lol, I have ZWO 120 mini mono that I’ll use for guiding and the main camera is the same as yours, I wondered about the guide port as on my set up ST4 doesn’t work with APT but I guess the RS232 connection works just as well, I think with my LX200 I can set upper and lower limits so the camera can’t hit the mount, once I have the focal reducer and camera extension tube I’ll have a go at setting them, your videos are a god send as they explain and show thinks so simply much better than than the explanations you get from the FB groups so please keep them up 👍

    Hi,iam a newbie.
    Can this live stacking do the same as stellina software?

    • @skatter3112
      @skatter3112  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Actually its almost the same procedure. With Stellina though, you will end up with a cropped result due to field rotation. The Stellina is mounted on a Alt/Az mount, not an Eq mount. Furthermore I dont think Stellina uses flats nor darks, wich is important in processing.

      You can use a DSLR with Sharpcap via Ascom drivers. You will need the Ascom platform, plus the specific Ascom driver for your camera. Make a google search and youll find it.
