    I love my rabbit. Go with a standard though. 5 speed is the way to go. if you like speed, its not the fastest car in the world but i can hit 85 pretty quickly.

    Is the motor for the 07 to the 08 any different other than the hp?

    I have an 08 rabbit and I love it! The extra 20 horses definitely makes a big difference. Mines a 5 speed which is the way to go. Its so fun to drive! The heated seats are nice to have in the winter. Also the exhaust note is 🔥🔥🔥

    I have a 2007 Rabbit. VERY nice car so far. Fun, cheap and very good to drive around town. Stock the car is pretty good. However, with a few easy mods, the car becomes very entertaining. 2.5 ... from my experience... is not exactly the smoothest engine in the world. However, it slams out naturally aspirated torque and makes very amusing sounds! I like it. Make sure to get the manual, forget those automatics. No serious problems yet. Had to replace a sensor and lightbulb.

    Does anyone remember what the original tire brand and model was for the 16” alloys?

    • @ivan123637
      @ivan123637 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can check your spare tire in your trunk, mine was a continental 205 55 16 (full size spare) so i can assume that those were the oem tires. The model is probably discontinued but its was the basic eco/cheap ones that become rock hard after 2 summers and crack.

    • @gsjarvis6669
      @gsjarvis6669 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I had to order my Rabbit from the factory just to get the Magny Cours 16" wheels. The dealership did not stock them and the only way to get them was order the car and wait for it, in my case about 4 months. Continental was the tire brand.

    150hp a little disappointing, but the upgrade in late 2008 to 170bhp made a big difference. 0 - 62 mph in 7.4 sec, so pretty reasonable, for the time. Still have my 2009 model, and has been very reliable. Great car for the price.

    It's not a inline engine , it's a VR6 with one cylinder missing . Or what i like to call a VR5 .

    • @Aulaein
      @Aulaein 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      In the US, we did get an inline 5. I have a 2014 SportWagen. We never got the VR5 here.

    • @Notasheepleandneverwillbe
      @Notasheepleandneverwillbe 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Aulaein I find that strange because i live in Canada and we got the 2.5 liter 5 cylinder here . And it's definitely a VR not a true inline . All you have to do is remove the valve cover and you can see the lifters are off set and angled in a shallow V .And if you remove the head it really shows the cylinders are in a V formation .

    • @Aulaein
      @Aulaein 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@Notasheepleandneverwillbe Huh, thats weird. I didnt know that Canada got the VR5, I thought it was just Europe. I do know I definitely have an inline 5 and not VR5. I do most of the work on my car myself, so ive seen it firsthand. 5 cylinders, straight in a row. Engine covers for both engines are also different. We did get a VR6 in some models, but im 99% sure we never got a VR5. Would be neat if we did though. The exhaust notes are slightly different and its interesting how the inline 5 has a smoother sound to it, while the VR5 is more raspy.

    the jetta 2.5 mk5.2(08-11) was the best. the quality of the interior is ridiculously good which definitely cant be said about the rabbit, also the suspension on the jetta 2.5 is just so much better balanced and far less bodyroll especially at the limit, also these years of the mk5 08-11 the engine makes 174hp instead of 150hp and have fixed a few issues that were from the initial years of the mk5.

    • @MyerShift7

      Uhh the Golf (Rabbit) and Jetta had the exact same interiors minus seat coverings and minor trim.
