Thank you Hillbilly RV, you saved me a a lot of time and money. Fridge is back in-service. 😊 I’m a happy camper again.
Husband said “Go and tell Hillbilly RV THANK YOU”! Saved us so much time! Ours just needed the reset and he said he NEVER would have found that!! We truly appreciate you and the time you take to help others!, Keep rockin it! 😊 1997 Bounder “Old gal” owners!
Awesome. Glad I could help.
Wow! A simple fix for our RV. I was thinking the worst. Hit the reset and bam. Back in business. Thank you!!!
Yep
great video ! i watch a lot of you tube videos to help me fix all kind of stuff and i reall enjoyd yours!
Excellent. Short, to the point and very clear video. And very friendly, helpful guy. Thank you!
You are welcome
Thanks for all the videos...helps so many of us to troubleshoot and do things ourselves out here.
That was my plan from the start.
Watched this video and followed you step by step I was able to get my camper fridge back working. Thanks for the very informative and detailed video! God Bless you!
Awesome
Great information Brudda. You area true professional and, I love hearing the stories as you show us how to Git'R done. My Dometic has no power, lights, etc. I have power to the plug so I did a little Dr TH-cam and found you. Great video and loved the out take. My thermal coupler is good, 13v. On to the next check. Thank you
Have fun
What awesome advice! We had the EXACT same issue! Just bought an RV and the refrigerator quit on the way home... we are trying the fix now. Thank you so much!!! 😍😍😍😍
You are welcome
Way to go, Ken. You are a master tech. Thanks for letting us tag along.
Glad to have the company.
Thank you so much. I just had to buy a new board about a month ago as it was having ignition issues and trouble staying on. Replaced it, and it has been working great, and then last week, I just couldn't get it to turn on at all on the light board. Was considering buying another board thinking that maybe I got a bad board but just wanted your video, hit the reset button, and it works again. I will be buying a new themodisc in the meantime as backup, but you saved me time, aggravation, and money. Thank you!!!!!
Awesome. You are welcome.
Great info!!! Saved me time and money. Thank you!!!,👍
Glad I could help.
Legend sorted an issue my cousin was having. This needs to be the number one search fix. Other ones just danced around. Cheers mate
Thanks. If you want more people to see it, be sure and share it with everyone.
Thanks for your knowledge on this problem. Mine was the same way and after watching your video, I reset the thermo disk reset switch and bada boom, it started working. Saved me a lot of headaches.
Awesome !!!!
Thanks so much! Fixed my issue!
Awesome
Follow-up! that did the trick! You're awesome!!!
No you are awesome. Glad it worked.
When trying to figure why something isn’t working I always use the “I heard, and that is if “No, then go to” you seem to do that, excellent logic. Thanks for the videos.
Thanks a lot.
That put me right on the issue thank you.
Awesome
Just saved my camping trip thank you sir!
Awesome
What are those connectors called that hook up to the thermal disc? I want to make up my own thermal fuse wires and I can’t find those connectors
Thanks for the video Kenny! You are awesome!
Thanks Patrick
Thank You!! Fixed my fridge!!!
Awesome
Simple, nice little quick job.
Nice job.
I like simple, nice and quick.
Big thank you Hillbilly I had the exact same problem so I replace that thermistor and everything is ok now ..
Awesome
Good video pointing out the fail safe. I had slight heart failure when you were drilling out the rivets. My first thought was the bit hitting the heat exchanger tank and putting a pin hole in it. 😬😂
That's why we make the big bucks. NO FEAR !!
Thanks for the vid. I was able to narrow down my problem to not having any 12 volt dc running to that junction you measured at the beginning of the video. I think the wires running to the breaker box have ripped off somewhere i cant tell.
You know where to start.
Guess the customer would still have a good board for later if needed, or he ordered it and did not need it either way . Great video Kenny thanks so much.
Yes.
Awesome job way to track down the problem
As Darren says, follow the flow of electricity.
Awesome fix. I’ll attempt to to do this on my non working Day RV fridge
Awesome
Thanks for the info just reset it and started working fine
My problem started because I think I have propane regulator problems I fired up my fridge on propane mode and it just sounded off loud like pressure wasn’t right then the whole fridge turned off even the front panel. Thanks again
I’m going to change the regulator hopefully I don’t have anymore issues
Awesome
I hope it continues to work for ya.
Great running down to get to the issue sir
Pretty easy when you follow the electricity.
Is there a specific number I need to look for or are they universal
Defiantly going have to save this video for reference. Thanks again Don
Hopefully you never need it.
Hi Kenny, do you have a part # or spec for that thermal switch?
Sorry I don’t
Kenny, I used to tell my truck drivers that it takes 2-3 weeks for them to learn the truck and it takes 6-7 weeks for the truck to learn the way they drive it.... Never fails when you get a piece of machinery... it's always a 2 way street.
Yep, I agree.
Right on Kenny thanks do the norcold fridges have those as well 😊
Same basic concept but completely different hardware.
Where do you get that thermal connector you was talking bout ??
I have a bunch in the truck. Any decent RV dealer should have them.
Another easy fix my friend but good info thanks
I like them easy ones.
yeah our Dometic has been down for about two months now and I still haven't figured out what it could be...this is the first video I have seen about that thermal device so I will check that tomorrow after the rain stops...Hopefully that is our issue...fingers crossed.
Good luck.
@@hillbillyrv thank you
nice work!
Hi and thank you for this great tutorial! I have a Norcold N621. I have DC power and AC going to control board on back and power going to the optical board on fridge but it does not power on at all. I am at a loss now and can't find the thermal disc anywhere.
Thank you1
Not all of them have the thermal disk. If it has one it will be on the flue near the bottom.
Yes yes yes this was the problem on our fridge, it was loose too 😅 thanks heaps 🎉
Awesome
I have installed 3 boards on my 2017 domestic fridge all checks out good, except!! I can not get any 12 volt comming out of board on the six pin plug ? I can’t get power to my upper board? Any suggestions
Hmmmmm
I don’t know.
The fridge won't turn on. No lights on the temp. gauge. Our unit has three buttons on the controls. Power, auto, and temp. I have tested connections and have 12 volts coming from the rear control panel behind the fridge (orange wire), but I don't have 12 volts coming back from the eyebrow control unit (black wire). I think my issue is the eyebrow control panel. AC is 120 at the outlet behind the fridge. Do we have the same issue that you are talking about in this video?
Probably not. You said you have 12 volt coming out of the board.
I’m not getting any DC power to the fridge. Everything else is working off the battery (I unplugged shore power and 12v lights, stove fan, etc work off the battery). The 120v outlet that the fridge is plugged into works just fine. Any tips to go from here?
Start checking with your meter. See where you are losing power.
I have a Norco N7X model flashing red light is there a reset for this unit. And it flashes 10 times then repeats
Is that a DC refrigerator? It is different from a gas absorption refrigerator. I don’t have any info on the DC refrigerators.
Are those fuses standard on the refrigerators? Also do they all need to be drilled out and riveted back on? Could you use small self tappers instead of a rivet gun? Thanks
I believe they are the same and the rivets come with the thermal disk, so why not use them.
@@hillbillyrv valid point! Thanks again my friend!
Great video ken like always. Quick question what is your take on the active soft start plug/hard wire does it work? I Have read mixed reviews that it works and it doesn't work. What is your take on this product if it is worth recommending. Thank you Ken keep videos / good information coming. Thanks from south texas
I have no experience with them, so I can't have an opinion. Thanks for watching.
Where to purchase thermal disc coupler replacement?
I get them from Dometic
How in the world do you get the cover off of the lower power module? Can’t figure it out without breaking things! 😊
Watch some of my other fridge videos. I am sure I have covered that.
@@hillbillyrv Thanks for you guidance.
is there a part number? are they expensive?
I am sure there is, but I have no idea.
I have a 2000 trail harbor camper refrigerator and it's not working too how can I rest my our
Please spell check and try again and include the brand of fridge.
@hillbillyrv it's the dometic fridge it's a 2000 is the years
I don't even have 12V dc to the back of my fridge. Have not found the failure yet.
Keep me posted
Good vid!
Thanks
How did this solve the no lights?
The overheat device stops the 12 volt from getting to the board.
My refrigerator have lights inside it bust wont run on gas or electric dont know what to do
It can be many things.
I put on a new circuit board. Control panel and still will not run
Thank you! got it figured out
@@bonnieglass1601 what was the problem?
Thinking maybe I should carry a spare.
Spare parts are always a good idea.
👍👍👍
