me and my friends have basically ONLY been playing 6v6 since it rolled out, and it's been a blast! Of course there are still some stomp and team work issues like usual, matching with strangers doesn't guarantee we'll have synergy or work well together, but I think we'll only go back to 5v5 if forced to tbh
Guys the 6v6 tests were a q time, player retention, and systems test. In the tweet he basically said that the interest was high enough but I think they wanted more q time tests. Which they get with the move to arcade.
I've been playing 6v6 exclusively since it came out. I don't know anyone who likes 5v5 better. As someone who queues all roles and gets tank A LOT, I appreciate how tanks play in 6v6. In 5v5, the tank has to do damage, but also mitigate damage, but also make space, but also hold space, but also protect the backline, but also...... In 6v6, you only have to worry about HALF of those things at any given time. A lot less pressure to be a tank, and a LOT less grief from teammates when you lose. Also, Flashpoint feels like it was built for 6v6. WAY more fun. Blizzard had a problem with tanks and queue times in OW1. Their solution was (a) make it single tank and (b) make the game free. Turns out, they only really needed the second. Well, that, and making being a tank fun with all the new and different tanks/kits.
The people who like 5v5 just don’t speak up. The fact that you can even go into a 5v5 queue and find a game relatively quickly should tell you plenty of people enjoy the mode
i find that you can carry way more in 5v5, in 6v6 you can go as the tank to the correct position or pressure the thing you need and if your team dosent help its really frustrating, watching your team stay in the choke is hell, support is also way more heal oriented which for me is more boring.
@ I mean yeah. That’s kinda how having less or fewer players works. If it was a 1v1 you’d have the most carry potential cause you’re the only one of the team. Meanwhile 100v100 your value is literally 1% of the entire team
I’ve always been passionate about 6v6, to the point that I don’t really wanna play the current 5v5 at all anymore, but I do have to concede that one of my favorite modes so far was actually 5v5 with limit 2, I feel like it’s almost the perfect middle ground balancing the advantages of both 5v5 and 6v6 - not too many players, good queue times, equal roles with the possibility of two tanks, and the totally unique advantage that you could switch role mid-match if things weren’t working out (without the chaos of full-open-queue) if they could bring that back as the 5v5 mode and add role queue 6v6 that would be perfect for me
Bastion feels a bit better in 6v6. He’s still a terrible hero but the fact that there’s an extra tank to take some pressure away, and the fact the tanks are weaker means he can play a bit more freely. Still, I wish he could get changed because he was one of the only 4 characters(at release) to get major changes for 5v5.
I have played almost only 6v6, I accidentally queued up 5v5 and had a terrible time and went bacak to 6v6 and had a great time. I don't hate 5v5, it can certainly work, but I'd rather play 6v6 with a duo tank where I feel like there's more to do, if that makes sense.
I've only every went back to 5v5 for the once a day 500xp bonus. But since the player base is now spread out now between the two team size modes que times. For consoles at least it has been very speedy cause that extra xp incentive to not show up in quick play all to often. I think its sorta hilarious to think adding 6v6 while 5v5 is still around inadvertently did indeed solved the que time issues. At least within my MR range for non competitive modes. Given I have no doubt people switching over to Marvel Rivals also helped by reducing the que time stress of putting matches together helped by having the DPS mains player count lowered to be more in line with tank and support player pools.
I haven’t played the 6v6 test mainly due to the balance changes. I think it’s deeply problematic to have two different versions of the characters based on which mode you’re in. I understand changing health pools but I think it’s a bad idea to change abilities because that means the character is fundamentally different. Things like changing rein and hog only make those heroes less enjoyable by nature which I do not understand.
I have mixed feelings-for context, I’m an OW2 only player and never played the original 6v6. I like it and it feels more balanced in some ways (although unbalanced in others), but it also feels very visually busy with more players on the screen. Sometimes it’s really hard for me to follow what’s going on when everyone’s using their ult at the same time. If they end up keeping 6v6, that’s fine, but I enjoy 5v5 as well. I hope there’s a compromise that can be made between the two play styles
I'm an ow1 player and I'm also open to both, but I still prefer 5v5. The ow1 tanks play good in 6v6 but the new tanks were designed to be played solo and will suffer. Also, i hate relying on another player so it will take the carry potential from tank a bit. I think the real issue is jaded ow1 players are looking for something to "blame" for their declining interest in an 8yo game, and have latched onto 5v5 as the issue that will solve all of their problems magically and boost them up the GM player they think they are.
IMO the q times have already shown that 6v6 role lock will not work in ow2 both game modes took q time hits. I think min 1 max 3 will be what 6v6 looks like in the future. in fact I think it will replace 5v5 open q. 5v5 open q is an unbalanced mess that would take a year to get to the right spot. Instead of taking on that task they can just replace open q 5v5 with open q 6v6. It won’t affect q times and balance an unbalanced mode.
I love 6v6. Being able to bully TWO hard 5v5 coded tanks as DPS is fun. I think tanks are still learning they can't run it down mid with no consequences.
The fact they're extending it is actually really cool. And players say they don't listen lol. I believe it was an interview with Spilo that Aaron Keller said they wouldn't get rid of 5v5 entirely, but could possibly include 6v6 alongside it. If 6v6 is really this popular for them to extend the test, I'm thinking that might be our future! 😁 Personally, I haven't been playing 6v6 as much as 5v5 because I hate the patch they did for it. I'm a tank main and they got rid of all the QOL changes for the tanks like Rein's 2 firestrikes, Ball being able to give teammates shields, taking away Hog's trap, etc. I'm fine with health/shield changes, but not entire abilities between modes :(
I must admit that even as a 5v5 enjoyer that I have been playing the 6v6 modes more recently even if I had to get used to it again and changing how I play certain heroes like for example Roadhog and I wouldn´t mind if they would keep. The question then would be which format should be the main one where they focus the frequent balance-patches on? Yes, in that scenario the 6v6 mode has its own balance-patch but I doubt that they essentially would do double the work by updating both modes each season and mid-season. If they for example decide to keep 6v6 as the main format and 5v5 in a seperate mode if they would combine certain changes to abilites and reworks so that they are the same between modes. Reinhardt only having one firestrike is okay in my eyes but why take away his better steering or that Wrecking Ball can share his adaptive shield but to a lesser degree or on a shorter timer for allies?
The game came out originally as 6v6, and after the playtest, the game feels much more natural in a 6v6 setting. Granted I still enjoy 5V5, 6V6 is the future for OW2.
Yea i love 6v6 and the main thing i have noticed is my FPS does seem to drop alittle bit but nit thet much i would say like maybe 2 FPS at most but ither than that i love 6v6 and would be perfectly fine with it staying in the game. Love your videos keep ip the good work
6v6 is 100% better. I actually wont play 5v5 now.. I forgot just how much I loved it. BUT I have noticed the que times are way to bad now that the card is pushed into arcade... (que times where fine before this, slightly longer but decent) so, yeah.. I'm not playing OW at all for the moment.

Honestly, I think 2-2-2 role queue and min 1 max 3 arent the solution. I think its full open queue 6v6 with hero bans in comp, cause that's how the original game was and also it gives players the most freedom with really short queue times. also every other game have open queue(valorant, marvel rivals and more)
@LartenB9918 if Blizzard did what players want, we would have a PVE and Overwatch 2 wouldn't be a pile of nasty cash grab with skin that cost 20$ but after may 2023 we realized that what we want arent the answer for them
@@TheFBG123-r6d we cant blame them that much, cuz other video game make you pay 100$ and still get away wait it, and they never could bring pve cuz there was no real management, and look at first year and This year, They do their best there even before MR came out
@LartenB9918 we know the PVE was cancelled before the OW2 and that it was known through team four so explain to me this why they couldnt tell us that it was cancelled and that they will focus on overwatch 1 pvp? remember that Blizzard and team four killed Ow1 for sake of that Ow2 and remember that when the game launched there was no level system, on fire, end cards, the complicated endorsement system, no workshop, and what we got Overwatch 0.5 with shitty servers and monetization alongside stupid card system for competitive. team four massacred the game's reputation forever. team four balance the game based on win rates, they hide info like how the ow2 engine can't even handle 6v6 not mentioning ruining competitive with the stupid ban system that makes people fear speaking to one another, also they are making skins to only 3/4 characters.does this look like trying their best? also they are doing the 6v6 on the launch of marvel rivals, not because we want it because MR have 6v6 and its gonna bite and gonna hurt their wallet. do i need to say more?

Yeah same. Infact, the 10 players leaderboard looks so weird to me now.
I had no Idea it moved to the arcade not like the game tells you so now I have reason to keep playing this week
in news tab in game said you can play
I always check the arcade just in case
the game literally tells you. theres a huge card on the homescreen.
My biggest worry about 6 vs 6 is that we lose ton of time producing 6 vs 6 again, where we could have had new content
What “new content”? Maps? Skins?
@@fractalelf7760 heroes... game modes... seasonal content...

and maybe nerf some dmg numbers on some heros cus they just melt you with that extra tank
i'm not just talking about tank dmg numbers i olso meen the dps and supports
in 6v6 you or survive way to mutch with the +50 hp or you die in 0.0001 sec by others
