Well that answers that question 'like a wet weekend in Middlesbrough', my wife was adamant that you had a Boro accent. She's a Middlesbrough lass and we live in Stockton on Tees....... and yes, that's often the weather. Got my sliding window seals done, now to track down a roof leak that runs in the inside roof gutter and showers my lass when braking ...... oh the joys. Ken
Mike. Excellent video as ever. I was watching another one that discusses the door seals and the reinforced sections in the middle and the top. The door appeared to not Shut correctly at the top. I have been looking at my 2015 defender and the door does shut correctly and uses these same seals. I am wondering if the dimensions might be different? Haven’t actually checked as yet. But your video was very interesting in that respect. Also, the later Puma defenders have seals fitted to the inner wing top near the bulkhead that stops water flowing down. Anyway, excellent information as ever Mike. Thanks. Brian
It is very strange how doors fit - I saw a Pump that was on a temp import to the US and the doors were like gull wings! Didn't notice the wing top seals though We don't really have Pumas here, as cars have to be 15 years or older to get in Mike
Defenders are beautifully ugly and truly an icon but you have to admit that they are actually a pile of crap and show exactly why the British car industry became a joke. I own one and tbh I cant wait to get shot of it and replace it with a Toyota. It may not look as good but in every other respect it is 100 times better than any Land Rover ever made. Cheers for showing us the amount of work you have to do just to stop the shed from leaking
Try smearing some Vaseline petroleum jelly over the vent seals also works on door seals plus bonus in winter stops doors freezing shut.
This is exactly what I am trying to solve at the moment. The driver side footwell is much much worse.. thanks for the video!
Glad to help!
Mike

Thank Ken - the weather here has been wet for the last couple of weeks so it seems like home - god for finding leaks though!

Is it the same for series 3 109 ? I still have water coming inside from the doors on the driver side .
