My wife wanted a sedan our new Crown Limited replaced a Ford Taurus. We are getting 45 MPG. The crown has easy ingress and egress. AWD in the winter months will be a plus.

Hi Mike - you mentioned several times in your video that the Crown "requires" Premium (unleaded) fuel, but the Crown owner's manual on page 512 states otherwise. It states that "Unleaded Gasoline only" is required and recommends Octane 87 (or higher) for both the normally (non-turbo) aspirated & turbo engines. Thought I would point this out to you (and for others), as I found it confusing every time you mentioned it throughout your video, when I knew that ordinary unleaded Octane 87 is recommended and works fine. Page 523 breaks down the fuel requirements even further for those who wish to know more about the fuel requirements for the Toyota Crown. Otherwise, this was an excellent very detailed video like always!

      Thank you!
I suppose I got mixed up because all the advertised performance numbers have the disclaimer "with 91-octane fuel".

No issues at all. I love the height of the car, easy to get in and out, I really enjoy the technology and it's a beautiful car. The gas mileage is excellent. I am very happy with this car.

The new Camry is going to look similar to this Crown inside and out. I hope the new Camry will be more impressive than this car is.

  • @alexmassengale433

Toyota seems to have missed the mark on these. I'm not sure I've ever seen one in the wild. Granted full size sedans don't sell well anymore regardless of who makes them. It is hard to see why you'd spend so much more than a Camry. I'd either go Camry or if I wanted more luxury get a Lexus ES if I was planning to buy a Toyota/Lexus sedan.

Averge sales price of new car is around 40K+ so someone's buying. If it was about money everyone would be driving Corollas like me 😄

I have a 2021 Camry SE and I love it! I just don't see anything interesting about this Crown, it just doesn't look alike a Sedan and it definitely does not look better than the Camry. I will never understand why they choose to go this direction. Just seems odd to me.

I feel like the SUV was a split between a Truck and a Sedan. The Crossover is a split between a SUV and a Sedan. The Crown seems to fit between a Crossover and a Sedan.

I got one and do NOT like it. Slow car!!! Brakes so so. Handles poorly. Simply the car is just for its looks. I am 6 foot tall and the car is too small , when you use it you find out how things just do NOT fit. Seat to door arm rest does not cover the job , too short to the back. When the seat is all the way back things get weird. Like you can not see the back of the seat which means you fall back into the seat and this makes getting out hard to do!!! It is made for short people!.....Do not buy!!!.... adendum: The steering wheel is one and a half inches off center! How about that for engineering BS !!!!!! This car is a cluster f-ck!!!!!

I’m confused by your comment. Everything you mentioned would have been something you’d have noticed in a test drive so why would you still buy it if this were the case? I test drove one using your comment as reference recently and found none of these issues you mentioned (the one I drove was the platinum though and not the limited). I will probably be purchasing as I was expecting the worse and was pleasantly surprised.
