  • Unwind while you relax and crochet this super easy scarf from one cake of Caron Colorama Halo yarn.
    Free Unwind Scarf crochet pattern PDF on Ravelry: www.ravelry.co...
    Skills needed: chain and single crochet in US terms.
    ch: chain. Yarn over and pull through loop on hook.
    sc: single crochet. Insert hook into stitch, yarn over, pull through stitch, yarn over, and pull through both loops on hook.
    Yarn: Bulky weight (category 5): 481 yards (440 m)
    1 skein of Caron Colorama Halo yarn (71% acrylic, 18% nylon, 11% polyester; 481 yards (440 m) per 227-gram skein)
    The sample scarf used 1 skein of Caron Colorama Halo yarn in the Blue Raspberry colorway.
    Hook: 12 mm
    Pattern Notes
    The scarf is worked in long rows of single crochet stitches in US terms. You can adjust the length of your scarf by adjusting the number of chains you begin with. Any number of chains works for this pattern. The long scarf sample started with 201 chains.
    Shorter scarf variation:
    Chain 151 to make 150 single crochet stitches in Row 1. The finished scarf would be about 79.5” long (202 cm) and about 12” wide (30.5 cm) if you use one whole cake of yarn (481 yards/440 m).
    Very short, wide shawl variation:
    Chain 101 to make 100 single crochet stitches in Row 1. The finished scarf would be about 53” long (135 cm) and 17 inches wide (43 cm) if you use one whole cake of yarn (481 yards/440 m).
    Unwind Scarf Pattern
    Chain 201
    Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and all ch across. [200 sc stitches]
    Rows 2-24 (or until the yarn runs out): Ch 1 (does not count as a st), sc in each st across.
    [200 sc stitches per row]
    Fasten off and weave in the ends.

    I chain 176 with a 5mm hook using the Mandala yarn 3 weight and made half double crochet in the back loop to make a nice soft infinity scarf. It’s minus temperatures here in Tasmania overnight currently. Thanks for your tutorials 😊 🥶 💙🤍🩵

    I have been following you and made a few projects from your page. You have me thoroughly addicted to the Caron Colorama Halo yarn!!! I have made three blankets with various colors and am working on a fourth! Now I just need to get the C2C method down so I can make the Pretty Peaceful Lacy Pashmina! I'm also glad that you used the blue raspberry colorway. I see it in the stores and it looks pretty...but it looks absolutely amazing in this scarf! I get a little thrill every time I notice that my yarn color is starting to phase.

    Thank you for posting this pattern. I bought this yarn to make a scarf and everything I tried looked awful. Going to try this shorter and wider. Love your patterns and style.❤

      Thank you! I tried at least 4 other scarf pattern ideas with this yarn before I realized I wanted to crochet it long rows. It’s lovely yarn!

      Thank you! It was a small one, a bit smaller than my dog Rosie. So fast though! I love to see them. If it was a mountain lion or a bear I would have reacted a lot differently!!

    It's so hard to choose a colorway in this yarn ! They are all so pretty. I like the long length to wrap up in. 🥰😎

      Thank you! I wish I could have caught the bobcat on camera too. That bobcat hopped up the hillside so quickly with its back legs moving together like a rabbit. I love their pointy ears and stubby little tails. It was gone in a flash!

    Thank you so much for this. The first row of 200 sc was tedious 😂 as I used the back bumps but now I’m sailing through. Starting row 5 and I’m loving it. Appreciate how you give detailed explanations.

    Does this yarn wash and well ?

    • @prettypeacefulcrochet
      @prettypeacefulcrochet  12 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@lhoksch this yarn washes very well. It does not do well in a dryer on medium heat. One of my blankets felted a bit after drying on medium heat. It may be best to lay it flat to dry.

    I'm a beginner so at the end of the row do I chain one and go back into the 2nd hook repeatedly?

    • @prettypeacefulcrochet
      @prettypeacefulcrochet  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      At the end of the row, I single crochet into the last stitch and then turn. To start the next row, I chain 1 and single crochet into the very first stitch and all stitches across. I do not count the chain 1 as a stitch. You can either chain 1 at the end of the row or at the beginning of the next row- your choice.
