- Crochet this easy beginner blanket as a gift for someone you’re grateful for, for a new baby, or as a gift to yourself or your family. The simple double crochet stich is perfect to show off a gradient or ombré yarn.
Two size options: baby/kids blanket and adult throw blanket. The sample blankets used Caron Colorama Halo O’Go yarn.

Thanks so much for the tutorial and free pattern 🤗 I just bought 6 colorama halo cakes and was looking for a baby blanket pattern for this yarn... But looks like I'll have enough for an adult size blanket 🤣 I ALWAYS buy more than I need (especially when it's on sale)
😂 😂 you think like me … Seriously, though - 6 cakes will be enough for 5 or 6 newborn blankets. I love this yarn. It’s my go-to yarn. Have fun!
just found you today .have watched them all afternoon,.❤
I made that exact purple one. Used the waffle stitch for a yellow one. Love the yarn! I used the balls though, not the O go
Thanks for teaching the foundation double crochet. I finally understand how to do it. I have gotten some good tips for Mowgli too. She is such a good teacher.
I love your beautiful blankets. They are absolutely gorgeous, and looks so cozy. I also love the setting you showed them and it was amazing. I am from Cincinnati, Ohio, and it’s pretty healthy here. I am primarily in blanket maker mostly because they don’t have it. Seriously I just enjoy seeing them come together. Thank you for sharing your beautiful work.❤
Oh this his hilarious... I have a pile of Loops & Threads Impressions in this beautiful orange & yellow color and I thought, "Gratitude Blanket." Went looking for possible patterns and here's your Grateful Blanket in the same size yarn! I love this stitch, my search is over!
I am loving your tutorials. I just so happen to have 3 of these o’gos in the turquoise colorway sitting here in my stash. So I think I will make the in between of these two. Thank you for the project. ❤
Thank you! I love that turquoise color! Have fun. 💗
I save this video to my notes. Thank you for the tips.
This was very helpful. I couldn't decide how in wanted to make the blanket, but this was very helpful. Thank you. ❤
THANK YOU so very much for this blanket. I had the yarn and couldn't decide what I wanted to do for a friends blanket, Also tysvm for the chainless dc method. That is an excellent way to keep edges straight. Mine are usually horrible.
I totally love your work and your videos. You are great with instructions.thanks for sharing.
Love the pattern tutorials
Those are so beautiful!
Thank you, Sharon! 💗
I love the name of your channel! I love that yarn!!
I LOVE them! I've never heard of the O'Go before and I'm so excited to find it online. I'm definitely going to work one up and see how it goes. AFTER I finish your video showing us how to work with one of course. lol
Thank you! It’s a really nice yarn to work with, really soft and silky. It looks great even in super simple double crochet stitches. Happy crocheting!
I am so glad to have found your channel…. I have quite a bit of mandala and those halo’s look soft. Thank you for taking the time to share with us
Thank you, JoJo! 💗
Great job!
Thank you! 💗
Its beautiful there but arent you freezing 😂
I remember you from rivalry, but I never knew who you were or that you had a TH-cam channel. I love your designs! Simple yet stunning
Thank you 💗
Beautiful blanket but kinda of hard to learn with this fluffy yarn. Would u have a similar work on other blanket with different yarn?😔
You are so brilliant, I like your channel, I'm just curious what do you do with all the blankets do you sell them?
Thank you! 💗 I kept these two blankets for my family because my kids love silky yarn. I give a few blankets away every year to various fundraising auctions. I also give some as gifts for friends and family. I don’t usually sell any.
I tried looking for the pattern and could not find it so I’m not sure how much yarn to buy. How many cakes did you use to?❤
Here’s the free pattern: www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/grateful-blanket. I used 2 cakes for the baby/kids blanket and 4 cakes for the adult throw. Some people have made a smaller adult throw with 3 cakes.
Counting the chains is really tough. If I get to a width that I want and I start the second row, and work to the ends, does it matter what the number of chains are? I was just going to measure the first chain width and then start the second row. As you can tell I am new to this!
Any number of chains is fine! It’s nice to count after the first row just so you know how many stitches you should have in every other row. If your stitch number keeps going down after a few rows then you know that you missed some stitches. You can keep going if it’s just a couple of stitches short, or go back to the last row where you had the right number.
Also be aware that the width will grow a bit after you crochet the first few rows. It’s hard to get an accurate width measurement on just the chains. I find that my blankets usually turn out 3-4 inches wider than the width the chain row started out as.
Counting chains is tough!! I always count mine by twos.
Thank you! I am surrendering as I am new to crocheting and I think I better start with a bulkier 7. I have no problem chaining, its rounding the corner to the next rows, lol!

I am so bummed as I love the Halo yarn, but for a beginner, it's a bit tough :(@@prettypeacefulcrochet
@@WanderWomenGearReviews maybe you’ll find a perfect use for that yarn later! I agree it is not the easiest yarn for a new crocheter.
