More than boring, they made it very difficult to use them too. I tried to get back into it and I missed literally everything for like 10 battles straight. The RTS style was both fun and easy to use.
People kept complaining about it... Main issue with CVs back then was that they had a very high skill ceiling. So they can obliterate a entire team if its a good CV player. And a bad CV player will throw the game. So the match almost always boils down to who had the better CV player. CVs are still very decisive to the match's outcome yet much more boring to play. So they just made it worse and not solve anything
I mean carriers have kinda been here forever, you just use the seaplanes with catapults and strap bombs onto them and have a crapload of them stored on the deck and inside the ship. The annoying thing was that for intercepting aircraft, you’ve got to select individual aircraft. And they’d typically fly in one big straight line vulnerable to air defense. This definitely fixes all the annoyances and roundabout ways from before tho.
The "Finger 4" formation is a real formation. It gets its name for the locations of each plane in the formation. If you hold your hand out with all 4 fingers next to each other. the planes in a finger 4 would be your fingertips.
The sticky selection is because you're selecting a squadron that isn't airborne and a squadron that is airborne, IIRC if you order them to attack, the airborne squadron will attack while the grounded would get unselect Also a little trick, dive bombing from higher altitude will be Innacurate but during the bombing run your aircraft will take less damage(at higher altitude), what you can do is order your squad to climb to maximum altitude and just before they begun assembling for attack, just order them to lower their altitude, they'll aggressively dive and the bombing accuracy will improve, it will help with plane like the sunsei which has absolutely insane climb rate Also the F4U corsair is so broken as a dive bomber, it's stupid tanky, fast and carry decent payload
The mikasa may be low quality on purpose, as it could be a reference to Battleship Craft, the model in the scuffed state it is was the starting ship you got in that game. When the game was shut down via dev buyout it spawned a whole series of spiritual successors with one of the latest being Naval Art
I downloaded a hull from the workshop that was around 700 meters long and 99 meters wide and just packed the thing with so much weaponry that my game lagged out every time the ship engaged an aircraft! XD I love the freedom of design this game provides.
Ahhh. Finally. I never got to play RTS carriers in WOWS as Wargaming decided to remove them just before I wanted to unlock first carrier. This gets me really nostalgic for those old "damage record" videos...
I recommend to make 20m Take Off Path extended further out from the ship to make Aircrafts deploys more Naturally. Or else the aircraft will take off like Helicopters if you don’t extend the Take Off path.
Whoa. I am very interested to see where this goes. I do miss the RTS aspects of CV's in Warships years ago. The Naval Ops games just let send the aircraft and they will take on different targets automatically. So, I might dip back into Naval Art again soon.
If only they added carriers to Ultimate Admiral Dreadnoughts. “But it wouldn’t work!” Well you need something to save your rapidly dying game as it seems your own player base has forsaken you with negative reviews. It would add some cool mechanics at least, at most it would add whole new AA modules and new mechanics alongside the carrier hulls themselves. It would be kinda cool to actually see aircraft progress through the ages
Boi i cant wait till it releases into full so i can properly redo my Rogue Empress carrier. for now though some beta CVs will do. i messed with it a bit earlier today/late last night and was enjoying the little i tested.
Any info about modern aircraft? I see on dev's discord, that it has F-14 Tomcat or F-18 Superhornet soon. I'm just too excited to imagine how badass it will
Is naval art made by the same people who made the mobile game Naval craft quite some time ago? A lot of the art is the same and the designs of the enemy ships (Mikasa) are exactly the same
Someone needs to combine this game with Ultimate Admiral Dreadnoughts -- the hell is wrong with the models in this "game"? *Can we get a semi-realistic ship combat game?* Where the aircraft group doesn't just teleport off the deck, with crew being about the ship?
Wargaming: No more RTS carriers!
Indie devs: Fine, we'll do it ourselves.
ooof, for a moment i thought it was UAD and i was about yo have a seizure
Me too 😔
Me too lol
A man can dream :(((
If that happens, all of my dreadnoughts would have 1945 American battleship level of Anti-Air.

This is so similar to the old World of Warships carriers, i used to love playing carriers in that game but then they made them boring to play.

"Finger 4" is a real formation indeed.
Naval Art somehow making CV gameplay more enjoyable than WOWs
that mikasa is from a very early predecessor game called battleship craft, it was your starter ship and the devs have kept the ship in as a reference
now that's a game I haven't heard of in a long time
Now that name takes me back quite a bit, but I immediately thought of that game when watching this video
If you lower the altitude of your fighters right before they start to strafe, they will do a "boom and zoom", and the reticle will turn blue!
2:20: Finger four is a legit formation. Why it boosts STRAFING, however, is beyond me.

Today is fucking Awsome first hoi4 modding tutorials now carriers in naval art could it get any better
Hoi4 modding tutorials?

AH! Aren't those IJN torpedo bombers attacking an IJN Carrier?
I mean; who else would they attack, Japanese Pilots are already very adept at attacking themselves.
Haven't played WOWS since beta/early release. Seeing deja vu
Reminds me of RTS carriers in World of Warships. Darn, I miss those things - gave up on the game as soon as they were removed :(
Ahhh. Finally. I never got to play RTS carriers in WOWS as Wargaming decided to remove them just before I wanted to unlock first carrier. This gets me really nostalgic for those old "damage record" videos...
Idk if someone said it or not, but you dont need a hangar to use the planes, you just need a hangar to replace any losses your squadron takes.

Well, i had a carrier in mind that i wanted to design somewhere somehow for a very long time now. Looks like the time has come :)
If only they added carriers to Ultimate Admiral Dreadnoughts. “But it wouldn’t work!” Well you need something to save your rapidly dying game as it seems your own player base has forsaken you with negative reviews.

5:23, god i miss the old carrier mechanics. Was so much better to use. Especially with the USS Saipan. The rework made me quit tbh
They need the Air-CAP for the fights.
I really love your videos, and as a NavalArt player, we could maybe play together in multiplayer in video of yours? I’d love it
I barely play it, only for videos. Sorry.
No problem
Glad you got it working again
Was terrified this was about UAD for a moment. THis looks good
Would make for a good April Fools
Ohh yes good job stealth
Try to test naval art in carrier battle
With your design or other to add big squadron
Boi i cant wait till it releases into full so i can properly redo my Rogue Empress carrier. for now though some beta CVs will do. i messed with it a bit earlier today/late last night and was enjoying the little i tested.
Finally, i can fill the sky with Stukas
Is their going to be more tank tycoon
Yes, tomorrow
I also think that the fighters ran out of ammo too quick
Any info about modern aircraft? I see on dev's discord, that it has F-14 Tomcat or F-18 Superhornet soon. I'm just too excited to imagine how badass it will
Hmm. What's next, battleship/carrier hybrids?
Finaly we can build Yamashiro
I think the dive bombers have been nerfed too much. Before when I was using waterplanes as dive bombers, their accuracy is about 80% hit rate
Reminds me of pre-rework world of warships CV's!
a game where you build ships and now has CV's..........i got to get this now
My little Carriers RTS are back! hourraaah
If there is no Habakkuk mod i will be disappointed, safe to say though if there is one Stealth will build it 😂
I don’t have steam but damn I rly wish I had it now this looks fun
Damn, they beat ultimate admiral to it.
i need to add more '' BushMasters '' to my shipps i see xD and see if the i-400 i got of the Workshopp is guna be as it should have been a Carrier xD
Is naval art made by the same people who made the mobile game Naval craft quite some time ago? A lot of the art is the same and the designs of the enemy ships (Mikasa) are exactly the same
Yep!
Yep, bcs these people wants a game like battleship craft can be back. Too sad it was removed in 2013😢
LOVE IT!
Someone needs to combine this game with Ultimate Admiral Dreadnoughts -- the hell is wrong with the models in this "game"?
*Can we get a semi-realistic ship combat game?* Where the aircraft group doesn't just teleport off the deck, with crew being about the ship?
why do I keep reciving "Runway length insufficient (60m in latest version)" while I only use catapults and reconnaissance aircrafts on my cruiser
Don't know sorry
ITS FINALLY HEREEE
What if the iwoa was an aircraft carrier?
First! If it's what I'm thinking - I'm happy AF!
Any idea when the update will drop? Mine is still guns only.
İ cant launch my planes its says runaway is preparing
How much does the game cost ?
You can check on Steam. Faster than asking here.
How do you use the carriers how do I get the planes
Make sure you're running the experimental version. Steam - Navalart - Properties - Betas
hmmm...is this a ccp china product?
Nope, just an indie developer based in China
