I have my NiLights mounted up high as dedicated ditch lights and they're perfect for the trail as I don't need to see a great distance ahead of the truck. They're mainly for spotting obstacles close and on the sides of my vehicle and they work great for that.

I have several of the nilites. 52" bar, 20" inch bar and the 60w 4" lights similar to the ones you tested. They have lasted well and for the price, you can't beat them. Would love to get the Baja's, but just can't see paying that much for them for as little as I need them.

Nice comparison. I bought 8 of those nilight pods and use them as area lights around my camper van, because they’re also WAY less $ than “scene lights”, and you can point them wherever you want them to shine, instead of the fixed position scene lights. I wired them through motion sensors so they double as security lights whenever we camp in a sketchy area.

I have the nilight pods. They are awsome budget lights. I have them on my 09 silverado and they are perfect for going on the highway because my headlights dont light up squat near me but having the pods makes it a lot easier to see on the road. I would love to have a second set just because you cant have too much light in my opinion.

  • @outbackeddie

Nice review. I think there is a place for cheap lights, as well as expensive lights. I would probably go with the cheap ones because I just need a couple of lights to connect to some motion detectors so that I can light the perimeter of my RV if anyone starts snooping around in the middle of the night. The cheap-o's will easily fit the bill.

I really like both but I would definitely go for the NiLites. I have had really good luck with the mid range and even the low range for quality and performance. Yes, the other set looks nicer but hard to justify that purchase with nice quality lights for far less.
If I was selected to win I would mount them on the tire carrier of my Ford Bronco as a rear visibility and backup lights.

Cool video, with the nilight I feel you get 80% of the power at 20% of the cost, they would be perfect for my kei truck.

Personally I like the nilights simply because there's no reason they can make them that cheap and the top end "name brand" company's can't make there kit more budget friendly other then there name on the thing although that's a lot of kit now daya you pay a lot more for a name and a whole lot less for just a little less quality...
    🥃cheers🍻

I wouldn't mind the Nilights, because the difference doesn't warrant the extra 200 bucks. 2001 Range Rover is what I would mount it on.

Good review, here is how to save 400$ and get almost the same light output

Baja is 200$, the nilight is 17$ for a pair.. Id rather get the nilight and spend the other $180 on other upgrades. On my Jeep Grand Wagoneer, i opted for old fashioned round halogen lights for my roof and two on the brushguard, KC lights though are $300 for 2 lights, it would have costed me 900$ for 6 lights. For 6 of the chinese brand lights 100w look identical it was 84$, and they are plenty bright. and have 0 moisture in them after 1 year

I bought 4 of those nilights for 40 bucks. All I can say is, they are cheap for a reason. Sure, they make light but the mounting brackets are hopeless!

I cant justify spending $199 up to $1000 EACH for pods and a lightbar that might get stolen or cracked by crap flying around on some inner city highway...
    Nilight alllllll the way.

I’ve had 3 sets of Nilight. On the east coast US we get some good rain. Honestly I would disassemble them and reseal. use some black marine Rtv. Don’t trust the factory seals but they hold up very well. I also used 2k clear coat on the flimsy lenses. No fade. And they take some impact well.
The color temps of the more pricey lights are better. But for value you can’t beat the nilights.

I purchase 10 Nilights and just use quick disconnects. One fails I replace it in minutes. And I feel like I saved money……or I’m just happy getting 10 of something compared to one.

Both of those lights are pathetic on output. I have a set of 80 Watt 4 in cube lights, on an outdoor piece of equipment that I often run at night and they are disgustingly bright and they've been on there for 2 years and not a problem with them and that machine remains outside all year. $30 NiLites and they are great but they're 80 watts in they're very very bright brighter than my LED 18,000 lumen replaceable headlights on my vehicle which are unbelievably bright.

I appreciate the value of the Nilights but I live out of town where there are no streetlights and lots of wildlife . I have the Squadron Pro's in place of the factory fog/driving lights on my 2018 Tacoma. I wouldn't go for any less lighting even for a fraction of the price. The truck looks factory stock until you hit the bright lights!

I have nilights on both my quads, my third quad will get some when it is finished as well as my sled. I’m sure there are better lights but these are infinitely superior to the useless lights the atv manufactures use

I have the Nilight and I’m very happy with them. But since I took them off my truck due to trading in for a nicer one. I’m contemplating to go with a bougie brand. I love the color on the Baja though the flood wasn’t as impressive as I hoped. Definitely doesn’t seem like it’s 10x better as the price would suggest.

And Nilight offers a relay with their “included” wiring harness.

Of course Baja makes far superior lights and you pay for them. Most guys who "really" four wheel are weekend warriors who live on a week to week paycheck. Baja makes pro racing lights so yea they are fantastic and fantastically expensive. Me, I drink Coors light around the campfire after taring of my rear bumper. No how am I going to pay for that? Sell my Baja lights and get some cheap ones then off to the junk yard.

You should have wired up 10 pairs of the Nilights to make it a dollars to dollars comparison. jk of course. I just want to see 20 pods mounted across your hood. lol

Baja does make a better light. But they cost 10X more for just a little more performance. Law of diminishing returns.

  • @coybennett98
    @coybennett98 2 ปีที่แล้ว

But for the price you can buy 10 sets of the cheaper kind for the same price that’s 20 pods and that would definitely be way better than 2 of the expensive
