Simply the greatest! She deserves special recognition in the Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame. I'm so glad this tape exists. "Chauffeur Blues" was her signature work and her performance of it at FW in September 1966 still gives me chills. POWER! Whoever recorded this--thanks! I wish I had more of her live performances. RIP, dear Signe.
One of the greatest singers there ever was! Wish Signe had done a solo album of her own. Simply a marvel to hear and appreciate. Rest in sweet slumber, dear Signe.❤ and respect always.
unbelievable ... where did you find this? SIGNE ANDERSON!!! This is very important ... it is the reason the Jefferson Airplane took off. Anderson was the blues in the Jefferson Airplane. She was one of the great voices in the 60s even if it was for a brief period.
I'm wondering if this is the same Signe Anderson that was the original singer for Jefferson Airplane, then latter with Natural Gas Company in Portland, Oregon???
I wonder what signe Anderson would have thought of the confederate flag hanging in the room. so un-signe. something tells me she might not have been amused........
It is a piece of cloth. If you spend your life attaching some kind meaning to objects you will have spent your life. Keep flogging a dead mule and maybe it will come back to life for you. Then you can ramp up the hatred to the degree you seek, and you can punish those you wish to hurt, you can show the world how noble and well-intentioned your vengeance is. You will be doing the Lord's work because you see him as a failure and that let you down.
She sounds great, very bluesy with a lot of sou...but couldn't she have at least tried to jazz up her appearance a bit for a taped performance? She's doing herself a major disservice by keeping that awful, severe looking bun on her head. Makes her look much older than she is. Seen it in other shows also. When you're performing, you might at least try to look like the star that you really are. Especially since concerts are in essence visual AND audio experiences.

Chauffeur Blues from the Airplane's first album "Takes Off". Great. Thanks!
My FAVORITE song from Signe's JA.
So awesome! RIP, Signe…

I loved this from the Jefferson Airplane Takes Off album.

11 years later the answer is yes!
Yep
Where is this? A coffee house some where in the bay area but where?
What's with that confederate flag there?
Yeah what's that about?
It’s an Elvis Flag. I’m sure that’s the only reason the guys in the band had it.

jonbecker03 I think it's an album cover.
It's an Elvis flag actually
You do know that is Signe singing, right?
@@dnk1870 who is the guy?

I think her hair looks awesome for an older lady. Most 70+ year olds have granny afros. Signe looks fantastic here.
She looks great. I wonder how you'll look when you're in your 70s honey.
What a shallow person you are
No, she’s authentic. Unlike yourself. Authenticity is so much more beautiful than forced fakery.
