Let the tragic death of Paul Kantner not overshadow the loss of yet another member and Original female singer of the Jefferson Airplane. SIGNE TOLY ANDERSON ETTLIN passed away at 12:28 AM on Thursday.... same day that Paul left us. Although she was with the Airplane for just a short time during their beginnings, (1965-1966) she certainly won't be forgotten by the folks that saw them play back in the day. +girlgeorgeberk - I agree-agree+. One of the founding members. And, even here you can tell that she still loves singing & music. She only left the band because she wanted to be a full time mother for her new born child. Love and best wishes to her 2 children - Lilith & Onateska (Ladybug).

many singers still come back orginal choc watch band singer danny phay came back on their last 60s album signe never went away she just made her mark and left that bay area zoo and went to home and hearth even janis did this but came back to sf after having time off and playing with the elevators when your an artist its for life god gave her that grace period and so it is so.rip signe tolly

grace was put in for $$$ sex appeal...they felt like they needed her for the bigtime...look Grace has a great voice but listen to this lady !!!....she is the sound..why not another female vocalist in the band back in the day ?...ya, u dig..personality clash...and Grace knew better..
Besides having “ the Voice “ , Signe impresses me as being a very warm person with a good heart . I am not really saying anything negative about Grace but Grace seems like she could be a lot to handle and a tad bit aristocratic. Signe impresses me as being the girl next door in the middle ,middle class neighborhood. That doesn’t mean she is easy and is for you .. I just don’t see Signe as the free love person who thought about putting LSD in the punch bowl at the Nixon White House .
Why did she cultivate the grannie look? She was a cool rock chic with a great voice. It messes with my head to hear that voice coming out of grandma’s librarian’s face. It’s disorienting and uncomfortable to watch.
