- This is a full review of the R.L Allan English Standard Version (ESV) New Classic Readers Edition in Navy Blue Highland Goatskin. Allan Bibles are well known for their quality and this is no exception. While premium Bibles come at a higher price they make up for it in beauty, quality and readability.

Love the grain of highland goatskin. During my morning devotions I actually get sad when they are finished because I so like the feel of the grain like you said. I look forward to opening my reader each and every morning.

I love this desk. Lol. I got it free!!! A local business was getting new office stuff and posted an advertisement literally the week I was moving into this house. I bright my truck and saw this 😍😍. It fits the dance perfectly. It shows up in a few other videos. It’s been a blessing for sure. (Especially the free part. Lol)

I just ordered one and it shipped out with custom imprinting done on the cover the next morning! It will arrive on Friday the very same week I ordered it, can’t wait 😁
Oh man...I mentioned the Treveris in one of my last videos where I compare this with the Topaz and the Treveris woulda been nice to have. I don't have one just yet but I hope to obtain one someday. As of today though...the funds just don't allow it. Make sure you show us a few pics on the FB group!

It is definitely a BLESSING!
If I were to ever own a premium Bible this would definitely be it. Hands down one of the most beautiful Bibles I've ever seen. One day, by God's grace, I will own a premium Bible and this would be it. I love the ESV translation and the layout in this is the one I prefer plus it's all black letter. I struggle to read red letters, it hurts my eyes badly. Just awesome Bible. Really awesome.
Crossway makes this Bible as the ESV Reference Bible, but it's a bit smaller than this one in footprint and is a red letter text. The only other difference is that the Crossway edition does not have those extra lined pages at back and the Crossway one is line matched too. From what I read this is one of the largest concordance in any Crossway Bibles. Also this Allan Bible is said to be the same as the Crossway one except the Allan is black letter as is said to be 10% larger both in font size and footprint than the Crossway edition.

@@ClaimingChristianity For right now, I'm just trying to get myself a compact ESV Bible that I can have with me so that I can always have the word of God wherever I go. There is nothing in the world that is more important to me than the word of God. It is my delight and I know that I can find eternal life only in its pages. That's why I want to have a copy of it whereever I go. I don't always have Internet where I am so I'm not always able to read from my phone, plus my phone is a China brand (not one of high end one) US restrictions affects it in terms of Google apps.

No...not at all. The paper is so nice that It's really not a problem IMO at all. It's certainly one of the nicest Bibles I own and real easy on the eyes.
I fully intend to get myself one of these as soon as they become available again. I have a little Schuyler, but I need a larger text, and the Allan looks like its the best large ESV.
The only thing you didn't look at is what the liner inside the cover is like. I find that interesting, and I've seen a few review videos of the NC1 so far, but none had any real information about the liner. I think one of them mentioned it in passing. I believe it isn't line matched, so the opacity of the paper will help.
But everything else in the NC1 looks so good, the goatskin, the tooled bands and minimal printing on the spine, the generous semi yapp, the ribbons, the cream coloured paper, the enlarged Classic Reference text printed by Jongbloed.
The only problem is which colour to choose. They all look so good.

Save the bible boxes to use when transporting your bible when heading to the beach, the cottage, on vacation, camping, etc.
Even though it’s not line matches, do you think this has less distraction then the Crossway omega? I have the Quentel but I’m not really happy with the 28gsm paper. But the NASB Allan reader see through didn’t bug me, found it very readable.
I was interested in Omega evbibles edition or Allan ESV reader and idk which is readable.
good questions. I don’t have an omega so it’s hard to compare. I don’t have an issue with my Allan. It’s very readable and the ghosting doesn’t bother me really. That being said…very few bibles I have do. But line matching is a huge win and most “newer” bibles have it. (Even lower level Bibles). I like the product Crossway puts out.
I've had this Bible for several years as my primary Bible. It has shown very little wear. If I had anything I could change about this Bible it would be the ink. I think the ink should be darker to contrast more against the creamy paper. Otherwise it's the best Bible I've owned.
You should check out the Schuyler Quentel with full yapp!
