That’s a great question! The highland goatskin Allan uses is my favorite goatskin. The grain is much deeper than the standard goatskin Schuyler or Allan uses. I’m a sucker for a unique grain!
Hi Drew. Love your review! Does this GSM paper have like a 'grainy' feel to it? The website says it is 36GSM "Coated" paper for 'opacity'. However, that sometimes means it's slicker, waxy like...like Church Bible Publishers paper. Which means it's a bit harder to turn a page. (Like you have to lick your thumb to turn a page?) Or use some kind of sortQuik gel on fingers to turn pages. I'm sorry, I'm not explaining myself very well. lol😂 Anyways, is the paper/pages feel grainy? I'd love it if there were some kind of texture on pages so they wouldn't be too slick and make turning pages easier. Thanks, Drew! 😇
Such a great question! The paper is more slick than grainy. The 36gsm paper in my Allan NIV1 is for sure more grainy and probably a little easier to turn, however I personally prefer the paper Royal Jongbloed uses in this Bible 😄

I did end up selling this Bible, and sometimes I wonder, if I had ordered the navy or black with red gilding, would I still have it 🤔 it’s a beautiful Bible! I just didn’t end up loving that color as much as I had thought. But you might!
@@drewenos6603 I know right. The Petrol Blue looks so exotic and unusual, but sometimes, I wonder how the colors are going to age. One thing I like about the Navy with red art gilding is that it has a more vintage look, kind of reminds me of revolutionary war colors.

@@sylvia4425 I'm not OP but just bought a bible from Allan in UK, it took less than a full week(6 days actually). I live in L.A.
I have the exact same Bible and love it yours does look more pebbly than mine though LOL
