I grew up with Taz Mania on the Genesis. I had no idea the SNES version was an entirely different game. As a kid I was oblivious that so many games were completely different between the two consoles.
One of my biggest failings on my older Ranking videos was failing to clarify that they focused on North American releases. I've never played Daze Before Christmas! What's the game like?
Man I remember playing World Heroes on SNES; that Rasputin tickle move took me all the way back! Sumsoft games weren't the first ones you were going to rent, but some games are good
This video made me remember & appreciate how many SunSoft games I played for the SNES. While Acme Animation Factory was indeed a let down in comparison to Super Mario Paint I think it still deserved a C as it had enough redeeming qualities for me. The license definitely helped rise it from a D to a C though. I was kind of worried when you got to Lemmings but was very glad when you gave it an A. They did a really good job porting it to the SNES and I've logged countless hours in to it over the years.
The beauty of these list is that they're one hundred percent subjective glances into my gaming psyche. I love when people are passionate about games that don't connect with me, because that gives me the nudge to try them out again. Obviously, Acme Animation Factory might not necessarily be something you're passionate about, but I think I'll spend a bit more time with it - maybe see if I can find an instruction manual to guide me a bit. 🙂 Thank you for watching! Lemmings fam forever! ❤️
@@SquarePegs Yeah I think if I hadn't played it as a kid I totally would have agreed with the F haha. It's *very* rough around the edges and something you need to play a bit to see it's good points.
When you go back to revisit Firepower 2000 try playing with the helicopter. I believe you can switch vehicles right from the get go. It might improve the score you gave it. Couldn't hut it anymore.
Man I loved Loony Tunes growing up, so a lot of these are close to my heart. That said, I totally agree about the slippery controls - I distinctly remember rage-quitting Duck Dodgers at least a dozen times after slliding straight into lava. That said, I still go back and play it every now and again. 😅 I may have missed it, but did you do Loony Tunes B-ball in this episode? My friends and I used to waste tons of time on that one! It was basically NBA Jam but with Loony Tunes characters. Haven't played it recently but I remember it being awesome. Thanks for the video Jay!
Another great tier listing, hard to find fault with any of the placements. I, too, rmember being a comic collector and I was either eight or nine when Death of Superman happened, and we all were falsely led to believe that it was the end for the Man of Steel. In an age of no internet (well, for most people anyway), it was something that really stuck with me and this game was fun, too, although a bit uneven, as you said, how are randos beating up Superman? Also, Pirates of the Dark Water was not a series I ever watched but wondered across the game as a rental at my local ma and pa gaming store back in 1996, and I loved the game. Still play it today as it is just a really fun belt scroller. Shame about the Looney Tunes games, tho.
Love Pirates of Dark Water. One of the first bigger ticket CIB games I tracked down when I got back into collecting on the Genesis. Such a quality title. :)
Holy crap, I absolutely did! Thank you for catching it! I'll have to give it a play soon and do a 'Here's all the crap I missed in each ranking video'. Lord knows there's plenty! 😆
Haha, I can't disagree with your assessment of the Daffy Duck game (it is unremarkable, to say the least), but it is one I enjoyed (and still do today). I'd give it a solid C+
It's a loosey-goosey game. I may have been lazy comparing it to the first Aero, but the controls are still off for this title. The locomotion for Zero is too fast, meaning you go from a controlled cadence to moving too quick to easily control with no real inclination as to why he's all of a sudden at a sprint when he was just moving normally beforehand. It's a fine game. Not everything is going to be an S ranked or A ranked game. It's got a fair measure of flaws that knock it down, but I still had fun playing it, which is why it got a C. That's an average score, there's nothing wrong with that.
@@SquarePegs I honestly never had a problem with that, although the game does get frustrating later on where you do these diving moves and then it's a bit too fast to react to, probably an emulation of Sonic that wasn't well thought out. Anyway, still enjoyed the vid. The 16-bit sunsoft was very diferent to the one that developed titles for NES, IIRC they lost most of their talent to other companies after a nice streak on that console.
The best part about these ranking videos is they're all opinion pieces - what I said doesn't make me right or you wrong. Everyone's got a different experience. :) Thanks so much for watching, I really appreciate it!

@@teamhammerbros8466 Ah, I might have had bad info in that regard! I was basing this off of snesguide.com. :) Thanks for watching! New ranking video will be coming out in a couple weeks.

Glad you enjoyed it! :)
@@SquarePegs as always=)
Great ranking...most of these games were ads in comic book back in the day.
Thank you so much for watching, Alexander! I appreciate the kind words and a shared love of old comic book ads! :)

Where is Daze Before Christmas? That was my favorite Sunsoft SNES title!

Thank you for what you said about Pirates of Dark Water, both the series and the SNES game. Also agree with the rank of the game.
Omg you bounce back when you shoot. What abomination have they subjected Daffy Duck to?
It's _so frustrating._

Loony Tunes B-Ball is from Acclaim, so that's down the road - and I agree, that game was a TON of fun! :) Thank you for watching, Jon!

You should do the best and poor beat em ups on the SNES and mega drive

I might have been a bit harsh. :P
super nes was cool! But im digging my new refurbished sega genesis i got also! Both great systems!
I adore the Genesis, but my friend John Hancock has been doing a ton of great work ranking Genesis games, so I'm leaving those to him. :D
@@SquarePegs He is cool! But i really enjoy you as well! Great job being down to earth and actually talking about the games!
Funny how Superman was only in 2 SNEStitles
I remember actually liking Daffy Duck: The Marvin Missions a lot as a kid, but I’m willing to believe it aged rather poorly gameplay wise.
Same! I remember loving it as well, but holy moly...just an awful gameplay experience today. :(
Zero plays MUCH better than the first Aero, it's like you played these for 5 mins and concluded they don't control like mario
