LOL - I'd love to say that's because it's some kind of brilliant strategy on my part to space them out, but no. The truth is they take SO LONG to film that I don't want to do them again after they're done. 😂 (Though - spoilers! - there's two on the slate for next month, but they're different enough I think folks will enjoy them!)
Lol I can imagine, what with collecting just the right footage for this many games. Also, I have no history with it, but I very much enjoyed your commentary on Elevator Action in particular.
I never beat a lot of games back in the day, but Power Blade was one of a small handful of games i was able to beat during a rental period before we had to take the game back. I was always proud of that. Really enjoyed Power Blade.
Nooooo! Now I'll have the Bubble Bobble theme in my head all night now! 😂 Youve got to hand it to the Flintstones games which beautifully adopts the cartoon ducking of withdrawing your head into shirt 🫡 Indy with that 70s music 😂 Kickpuncher 😂😂 Newzealand story plays really well on the Spectrum, it ls a great game. Renegade, an absolutely amazing port on yhe Spectrum. Hope you have a great Weekend my brother 😎👍
Oh man, some bangers ranked here! I LOVED the Power Blade games, and discovered them through emulation almost 2 decades ago lol. Kick Master I’ve never even heard of…and I must now play that. Looks awesome! Excellent video Jay! Always love seeing these ranking videos! I may need to try doing a ranking video sometime on my channel!
No lies detected! I've played a good number of these and I think your assessments are spot on. Really love how you put these videos together and your review videos always feel so personal.
I just heard on the bubble bobble segment the city Fall River. My grandmother was from Fall River, and my dad was born there. My dad and I are wanting to travel there, especially since he has liver cancer. My dad's favorite game is Arkanoid as well. Thanks for bringing that up. I'll be joining as a member when my finances are in order.
What you're going through is insanely difficult, but know that your dad appreciates you being there for him more than he can express. Give your pops my best, and tell him I'm pulling for him. You'll both be in my thoughts. Us Bristol county boys gotta stick together. :)
Very nice ranking list! Demon Sword needs a bump with that cover art! I had an opportunity to buy Flintstones The Surprise at Dinosaur Peak this week for about half of it's listing on price charting. But it sold before I could make it there! I really want to try out Kickmaster and the Power Blade series. Little Samson also looks great but I'll probably never get an opportunity to play it. Qix seems like a game right up my alley.
Ok, I know I already commented, but I forgot to say how right you are about Little Samson. It's SUCH a good game, and the swan song from one of the greatest game designers of the era. I totally agree that it absolutely lives up to the hype!
Really enjoyed that! I was never big on NES (only like 2 kids I knew had one as a kid) so a lot of the games I discovered later in life so nice to see a nostalgia recollection! Did you know that Rainbow Islands has the honour of being one of the only NES games that has a completely different PAL version? Ocean made one too - worth a look to see if it helps remove some of that dislike for it 😅 We also got Parasol Stars in PAL which is is Rainbow Islands 2.. the confusing Bubble Bobble timeline continues! 😂
I did not know that! I'll definitely check out the PAL release and see if that helps things. 😁 Parisol Stars is throwing everything off. We now have branching timeline Bubble Bobble universes! 🤣
Love your unapologetic rankings here, and hoping you've got more developer-specific ranking vids on your channel. (Coincidentally, you probably contributed to the price inflation of a few of these titles :D)
Oh jeez, if I did that was not my intention at all! And yes, there's a bunch of developer specific rankings in the 'Rank and File' playlist, as well as some that are more focused around a theme (every Genesis hockey, every Spider-Man, etc.), so I hope there's something there for you to enjoy! A few are a bit older at this point and my video making skills have improved, so please forgive any production quality issues from those past videos. :)
Hannah Barbara NES games were some of the absolute best of the library in my opinion. Dinosaur peak definitely isn't worth the price, but it's solid, and until last year Wacky Races was my Holy Grail. Lots of great memories watching this video Jay!
Fun fact: Panic Restaurant swaps the protagonist on japanese version (Wanpaku Kokkun No Gourmet World),it's no longer an old man with a mustache, but instead it's a young boy, very funny!
Great video! I think I am on the same page 100%. That puzzle game reminds me of some Hat filled adventure. I love me some Brick Breakers and Arkanoid is my favorite. Played that on on the old Apple IIe back in the day. I miss my Apple IIe and Auto Duel, and all the other great games.
I love a great ranking video. I haven't played many of these but I totally agree with you on emulating those crazy expensive games. I had to play Little Samson and It definitely is an S ranking but that price tag.....ekk!
I've been looking for the Arkanoid Controller for the NES everytime I got to CONs. Or amybe a CIB Arkanoid would be cool, since it is one of the only big Box NES releases back in the day so very unique. I love Bubble Bobble, as a kid the pizza place used to cycle throuh different arcade cabs and they got BB once and I loved playing it, so the NES was a must get back in the day for me. I would love to add the sequel to my collection, but man is it pricey. I don't have either of the Flintstones games and the Jetsons game has been one been thinking of getting lately. Kiwi Kraze I almost picked up a couple years ago and wish I did. Of course Little Samson would be a great addition, but I think I might have to be happy with my Repro Cart from Aliexpress for $6. Man Panic Restaurant, Taito have a few pricey titles don't they. See Power Blade 2. Getting a complete Taito NES collection is a pricey endeavor.
Pretty tough to dispute your rankings buddy. I found Dungeon Magic to be pretty boring myself. But Elevator Action is a guilty pleasure of mine. I love that game! The port may not be as good as the arcade release but I still love that one. A few of these I haven’t been lucky enough to play yet though. Great video! 🤙🏻
Maybe I missed something, but I have seen Little Sampson for between $23-$40. Walmart has it for $30. Also found it on Ebay and Etsy for around $23. And Aliexpress (of course) has it for like $12-$14, but who knows the authenticity there.
Definitely suspect those are reproductions (which I've no problems with!) Authentic carts for the game itself sell loose on the average for north of $2,000.
I don't doubt that's the case, but still at least it's nice to know that it's affordable if you want to play it, but probably not so much if you want to buy an original.😊
Taito had some great and decent games. Little Samon, Panic Restaurant, Power Blade 2, Flintstones 2 and Bubble Bobble 2 didn't release that many copies. Target Renegades is horrible even if you beat the game if you don't beat it quickly then you have to start all over again.
I give Sky Shark a B for the first level music and Target Renegade a C it has funny sound when the boss hits you and funny how some of the enemies looks like Bret The Hitman Hart. I give Black Manta an A it is a good game but the final boss moves weird lol
Video games aren;'t worth money, they are worth memories. If you a moron to pay that much for the bragging rights to own a game like "Little Sampson". You are still a moron. I loved game collecting but, online has ruined game collecting. I remember buying Mega Man 4, 5, and 6 for the whopping deal of 3 for 9.99. Now, game collecting is kinda like....."Not as Cool".
How did we never get a Flintstone's bowling game on the Wii? That would have been phenomenal
What’s great about your rankers is, I never really expect to see em. Always a welcome thing to see a new one!
LOL - I'd love to say that's because it's some kind of brilliant strategy on my part to space them out, but no. The truth is they take SO LONG to film that I don't want to do them again after they're done. 😂

They're VERY time consuming to put together, but they're a ton of fun to do and they encourage a TON of community interaction! :)

@@SquarePegs Thank you so much! I'll let him know, and he'll definitely appreciate it.
After this I think a series of streams playing only the most expensive NES games via emulation needs to be a thing.
That's a spectacular idea! I wish I enjoyed streaming. 😂
For all of the reasons I love your content and consider you a friend, you ranking Wrath of the Black Manta as S tier may be highest among them.
That looks like a great company. So many ranking B and up. Really makes me wish I had a NES as a kid. Would have loved to play a bunch of these.
Wrath of Black Manta has always been a personal favorite of mine. It is one my dad played with me. We picked it up in the bargain bin at KayBee toys.

You can get a decent repro of Little Samson for about 25 USD. Might be worth a look if you want a physical cart in your collection.
Really appreciate your content here. Just discovered your channel via YT suggestion. 🎉❤
I'm glad you're here! I hope I can continue to earn your views. :)
I agree Power Blade is a really great game, one of my top 10 on the system and definitely underrated
Such a fun vid, a lot of games I did not know about

Bubble bubble arcade was the definitive edition. Even the PlayStation release wasn't the same
I dont like Demon Sword either but i will say that once you get past level 1 the game looks alot better. The other levels look pretty cool

@@DarksladeDiaries 100% agreed! I've only ever emulated it - I can't ever see myself being in a position where $2k on an NES game is a good idea. 🤣🤣
Taito had a lot of games! A few gems, some good, and quite a few stinkers 😮
Taito had some great and decent games. Little Samon, Panic Restaurant, Power Blade 2, Flintstones 2 and Bubble Bobble 2 didn't release that many copies. Target Renegades is horrible even if you beat the game if you don't beat it quickly then you have to start all over again.

Kick Master and Power Blade 2 deserve more.))
The arcade Sky Shark was excellent! Too bad the NES version wasn't.
I sadly traded in my NES games for Triple Play Baseball and Madden 97 via mail in system...sigh
Sarge, I feel you and I are very simpatico in a lot of things. :D
I'm getting bubble bobble 4u on ps4
Great pickup!!
