    Distance runners are the best. Nearly each one had a big smile and a little swagger. Rarely ever disrespectful before, during, or after races. Great sportsman.

    he wins both 1500 and 3000 in the same competition while the other runners are running only one of these two races... he looks like playing with kids... excepted that these "kids" are the best runners of their countries in each one of these races...

  • @pukulu
    @pukulu 3 ปีที่แล้ว +11

    excellent race, not fast because of the leisurely pace but a fast finish. All of the top guys could have run 5 to 10 seconds faster with a faster pace. Ingebrigtsen's conditioning is incredible, but Kimeli's and Mechaal's aren't bad either. Mohamed Katir burned himself out before the last 200 meters.
    It should be mentioned that outdoor times would be faster because there are not as many turns and the turns slow the runners down a bit.

  • @david2804me
    @david2804me 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Commentator needs to do some homework.... you cannot just say that Ingebrigtsen's best is only 7.:49 when, in fact, he has run 7:27. This indoor v outdoor distinction for an event like this is only a technicality.

    Where are the people of color, who have migrated from Africa? Mo Farah of Great Britain comes to mind. I used to race bicycles. I was a senior, racing other seniors and always getting smoked (beaten). I still remember seeing this dude, I knew was senior, getting his ass handed to him by some really aggressive junior riders, during a junior race. I had to smile.

    Would like to see a race between Cole Hocker and Jakob Ingebrigtsen in the 3K.

    • @regiseal
      @regiseal 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Dan Chaplin Hocker is also 8th all time in the indoor mile. He has less experience, but give him a few years and he'll likely give Ingebrigtsen a run for his money, especially given he's a year younger.

    • @jakobskjoldan6935
      @jakobskjoldan6935 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@regiseal Hocker is 9 month younger than Jakob.
      Jakob is 7:27 in the 3000m and Hocker is around 7:45 so Hocker has some ground to cover!
      I think Hocker can run sub 7:40 perhaps later this year but Jakob is possibly - as usual - 1 level up from last year so I guess he has potential to run 3-4 seconds faster in the 3000m already now.
      If Hocker shall beat Jakob he has to develop to be the best ever middle to long distance runner born outside Africa!

    Norwegian indoor 1000 record is 2:20.96. Believe he ran 2:20.90 last 1k when he ran indoor 1500 WR. He needs to find a 1000 and destroy that record and work on his speed so he'll be ready for Wightman.
