Sometimes I see Jakob painted as being cocky and arrogant, though I didn’t really see it. I love how this piece really shone a light on his humanity. Well done.
I understand that his competitive spirit makes up a large part of who he is... but I hope a day comes where he believes that young Jakob would be proud of him -- because I think he should be.
Absolutely inspiring!!! His line "Even if i win, i always think of what i could have done to run faster." is a perfect representation of sportsmanship! Good luck to the GOAT on setting more world records and championship medals in the future!
A winners mindset. A rare breed. May Jakob enjoy a long and injury free career. He's my favourite runner, being a pensioner now and Comrades veteran of 10 races. Cautioning Jakob to prepare mentally for the sunset phase of a brilliant athletic career, one day somewhere in the distant future.
Another great video , it's really good to see this side of the athletes . You can see why he gets so disapponted when he losses , he wants to be the greatest of all time and anything else is not enough ! And when your at his level I believe you need that type of mentality
Watching this after the out-of-this-world 3K world record.... He might just become the greatest runner of all time. If he just can get that insane 1500 record, he'll be capable of all the 10 records he is hunting for! Great piece of documentary this! Well done!
It’s not about how many medals you get, or races you’ve won. It’s about doing your best and leaving it all out there. Day in and day out. In doing so you leave a legacy that can’t be matched. Great video! Go Team Ingebrigtsen!
I’ve had respect for Jacob for many years, especially after watching their documentary style Norwegian show they had following him and his brothers running journey. He always had big shoes to fill and the fact that he lived up to his fathers expectations and more is so cool
Jakob has been running at the professional level for quite some time and it’s unbelievable how young he still is with everything he’s accomplished so far!
Amazing. Thanks for doing and sharing it. Like Hendrick says: "simply was born fo running" He should be proud for all his achievements, thanks to his will power. Always the best.
His dad and brother serves a very big part in being the optimal environment for an athlete striving to break records. Possibility of failure holds back many from ever trying, let alone some from fully trying. This kid accepts the outcome with whatever his best performance is.
Jakob is an unbelievable person. I dont know anyone who has worked as hard as him from so young age. Its crazy. A shame that lot of people only us able to see that he is harsh. Its one the best athletes that the World of sport has now.
Really enjoyed this-seeing the behind-the-scenes of Jakob’s journey was so motivating! And big fan of Jakob and Elisabeth as a couple; they’re going to be amazing parents! 😍
I caution you, Jakob, that you might find an unexpected higher priority will soon envelop you, in fact the true purpose of life-your child. The enormity of this gift and responsibility can only be understood when she looks into your eyes, and you become aware of her reliance on you. This child is not merely a nice addition to your family, she is your purpose. It's your responsibility to learn from the positives and negatives encoded into you from your upbringing, and to correct them where necessary. I wish you both all the best of fortune for the future.
Beautifully said. When he said that he can do some things "on the side" - like having a relationship and starting a family - I feel like he is missing out on the way these things can make him an even better runner if he was willing to also put these in the center of his life. He is only 23 years old. This perspective may come. That said - I can hardly wait until Paris!
@@dekjules32 Aye, this is what spurred my pontification... realistically, nobody can be expected to understand the impact a child can have on priorities until it happens. Likewise, I'm considering self-induced coma until Paris... 🙄
I agree, I think creating the best possible life for his children will be his actual main purpose in life, especially considering that he himself was not happy with the way his father treated and raised him. Instead, running, training, and competing will become the things he does "on the side"
Jakob is great, he's still so young but I'm curious to see how his career will evolve, wonder if he has plans to move into longer distances in the years ahead
@@robford3211 He of course isn’t, but we can’t deny that he is on the right path. He is only 23. I think he will run 1500-5000m up until 2028, trying to get 1500-Mille WR and a 1500m world title, then will progressively shift towards 5000-10000, and finally marathon. I genuinely can see him be Olympic / World champion on everything from 1500 to marathon. Sky is the limit for this guy.
Based on what? Look at the careers and this comment makes you look completely foolish.. Hell, just go back 5 years, you don't see any of the current top 3 even in the conversation, EXCEPT Jakob. And now Cheruiyot again.

People who call him arrogant doesnt have super confident trait like Jakob has.

I absolutly agree on that. He's so focused on what he's doing! And when it's time to deliver, he's on another level.
