Treated myself to the Paul Rubens metallic set month or so ago: they are brilliant! Use them for mixed media messing about as washes and thicker for lines and for calligraphy, very nice for illuminated capitals And you're right - the packaging is utterly gorgeous especially the little cloth. Saving up for some other PR kit :)
Thank you so much Nina, I really really enjoyed watching you talk about those awesome metallic water colours. And thank you to for going into such detail with all of them, the comparison is very very helpful and useful too. The music 🎶 is awesome too. I really really love ❤️ both the paints and the music 🎶. Please stay safe and well too xxx Mags
They are all such lovely colours Nina and the music was so relaxing. What a wonderful package they sent you and as you say it would be a beautiful gift. Have a lovely weekend. Our temp today (2nd day of spring start at 0c and will be 17c by this afternoon..
They are beautiful Nina, I don't have any metallic water colors yet, but I am happy to know which I should put on my wish list. Thanks for a great comparison of metallic water colors. I hope you are having an awesome day.
Oh, my! How gorgeous! I don’t have any metallic water colors. Something else to put on my very long wish list, LOL. I love your reviews. They are always so comprehensive! TFS. 🙏💞👍
I have head great fun with my Artist Loft paints. I’ve never tried perfect pearls, although I have to say my homemade watercolours are just as vibrant as the Paul Rubens paints, but of course no where near as pretty 💕
When you started to swatch the colours I fell in love with them. Maybe it was that lovely music but they look like superb quality and beautiful colours. Going to buy them even though I got a cheap set from Amazon that doesn’t compare.🦌💌❤️📚🙏👏👍
Holy Cow, Nina, these watercolors are scrumptious! I can’t allow myself to get them, as I have all the Twinks that are still pretty much full. Oh well, I’m sure many will get these.
Hello nina, Beautiful box, really, I would not use the cloth either. And the colours, beautiful, so two flies in one catch( a dutch saying) Good to show the different boxes in comparison to eachother. I once bought two boxes in a budgetshop, really cheap and it was like magic, I coloured some beautiful mandala's for my collegues with them and I am almost afraid to use them, for I never saw them again in the shop, but this box might bring magic too. Good video nina, love and kisses lenaxxx
Good morning Lena. I’ve just been looking up Dutch idioms and some are very funny 😆. Glad you enjoyed the video. Have a wonderful weekend, love and hugs Nina 💕 xx
I bought the Paul Rubens set a couple of years ago now and haven’t used them! I have other similar sets I want to use first, I do open them up just to ogle over them as I’m obsessed with the packaging! I do use the regular water colours though and they are lovely to use tfs xxx💕
Don't know how I come to miss this one Nina (old age and dry rot maybe lol). I actually purchased one of the metallics at a cost of £50 last year, but sadly had to return them as there didn't seem to be much pigment on the paper when I used them. Luckily I got my money back. Tfs xo
That’s a shame as I’ve heard nothing but rave reviews about these paints. It’s the same company as the Pretty Excellent palette that I’ve been using for the past couple of years as well and I would highly recommend that too. My paints are very highly pigmented and Lindsay Weirich also classes this as her favourite set of metallics too. You could see from the swatches I made that they are just as pigmented as the likes of Finetec and the colours in the palette are gorgeous. I wonder if you perhaps purchased a dupe? Just a thought 💕 xo
Thank you Nina for demonstrating the Paul Rubens and the comparisons. I agree they are very beautiful colours but unfortunately far too expensive for me 😱
Nina, what are you trying to do to me!!!! I’m trying not to buy anymore stuff, but! Those paints look really good.Look forward to seeing what you think to the book,as I use mostly 100% cotton and gummed on all 4 sides so very interested in that 😊x
Bought a set of pearlescent watercolors on a recent Michael's trip. Mine are Niji with 16 colors. Are they like metallic paints? Edit. I don't usually swatch my paints. Since I watched your video, I decided I would do it with this new set of paints.
Hello May, I think a lot has to to do with what reflective particles have been added to the paints. The Paul Rubens are sold as pearlescent paints, but are highly reflective and show well on both black and white as you could see. Glad you decided to swatch yours as I think it’s the only way to see how metallic/pearlescent paints will perform. Enjoy 💕

Glad you love them too. I’m really impressed with these so far and can’t wait to play more with them 💕
I love listening to you - you voice is so calming and so are your videos - thanks and cheers from Australia 💕
I have them. They are some of my favorite watercolors. Everyone in my art groups really love them too.

Oh my. No other words can describe my feelings. Thanks for sharing.

Ooh these look very nice indeed!
Thank you for sharing. I use my perfect pearl powders as a watercolor medium. I also have the Artist Loft brand metallic watercolor palette.
