The AMD model Zen 5 is only available in the base-level hardware designs and minus vapor-chamber. That means it can only be specced up to an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 graphics chip
According to asus, 4080 and 4090 are just not big sellers because they're so hard to cool so none of their latest models go beyond 4070 and e.g. for Zen5 ROG Zephyrus it results in a laptop about 20% thinner and much lighter ... Was just trying it out at Best Buy yesterday ...
@@jimmybraun4193 I dont have the numbers in front of me but most laptops choke trying to cool more than 110w of power dissipation, which is just about peak 4070 power consumption. To have a 4080 or 4090 you must do insane things like tent the keyboard to put the 150w, 180w heat out (stupid. heavy, thick). If you have zen5 then the CPU is so efficient you can put 25w more into the GPU and get full throttle while the CPU sips only 25w - not 50w like zen4 or 75w like Intel powerpig thighburner 14th gen or ultra laptops.
