A lot of questions interviewers ask are often uncomfortable. The questions are supposed to be of interest for viewers, and clearly it is. It's the interviewers job to bring the questions viewers are interested in, whether the interviewee is comfortable or not. It's still doublelift's choice to answer them and whether he wants to give details or not. It seems he has no real issue answering the questions with detail. Also, note the relationship between travis and doublelift.
While I agree with your sentiment, there is a defense to be had for Doublelift. He's critical, critical of himself, of other players, and he realizes when he fucks up. He does seem to have a hard time applying it, but he does know when he's fucked up. Also, if we're talking NA, yes, I would argue he is the best, mechanically. I wouldn't say he's the best in the world, but he's the best in NA.
I really don't think he's making excuses. He admits they suck, he says they are playing poorly and just points out mistakes. He's obviously really good, we've seen (at least I have) how good he is. I just think they're playing bad as a team, their teamcomps suck and, for me, it's a really bad strategy to give almost all damage on your team to squishy, so item dependant AD Carry (which is CLG strategy) that can so easily be shut down from laning phase to lategame (which is CLG strategy),

Chaox might have been the mvp of a single match or tournament during Season 2. But he was far from the mvp of Season 2 even just limited to NA. CLG consistently won tournaments at the beginning of Season 2. Their first second place finish in Season 2 was against China not Chaox's team or any other NA team for that matter. TSM wasn't better than CLG in Season 2. To even try to reason that is beyond stupid.
