I have two DJI Mic v1 kits, one of which I haven't used except for charging it. Most of the things I disliked have been fixed but the 3.5mm cable seems to be as unnecessarily short as before. I bought coiled replacements but it's something I know others have complained about and it would have been such a small thing to remedy. I bought the DJI Mics despite reports that the previous Rode system sounded better because everything else about the DJI seemed to suit me better. I'm actually quite surprised that Rode stuck to pretty much the same design in the face of how DJI had moved the user experience on. As for sound comparisons, I may be an exception but nobody who is going to listen to my audio is going to be an audio engineer or get an opportunity to compare what he or she hears with the same audio from another system. In my opinion, we spend too much time chasing goals that only we care about. One of the mics I use is a $300 Rode shotgun mic and nobody has ever walked out of a training video of mine complaining that I should have used a $1500 Schoeps. The reason is good enough is good enough. I'll buy whatever makes my life easiest in spite of the fact the quality of output may be 5% down on an alternative. Why? Because it's only by also experiencing the alternative side-by-side that a lay person - the only type of person I create for - would know.
Yeah I totally agree. Especially for TH-camrs, workflow trumps quality. Most people are listening to our videos on their smartphone speakers, holding it vertically... as long as there's not an echo or peaking it's "good enough." Of course, if I can improve quality without making the workflow harder, I'd do it in a second. But if I have to choose between very slight sound quality improvements and having internal recording backup or being able to see my levels, I'm not picking the sound quality.
Thanks for the review. I've been using the DJI mic#1 for a year and the ISO record has saved me many times. I hired a pro sound opp with a full pro SQN mixer to record voxpops at an event with me. At certain times all he got was breakup and chaff due to busy frequencies (lots of crews/local wifi etc). I bought the DJI kic as a handy pocket backup and it lSO recorded perfectly. It also sounded less noisy and nicer than the pro kit which cost 10x as much!
My experience with Rode is poor battery life (fails to charge). I have the DJI Mic 1 ( love it) and just ordered the Mic 2 combo. Thanks for the review.
I bought the Mic 2 the instant I saw that it can connect direct to the Action 4 and has 32-bit internal recording. Anything that simplifies my audio setup is a huge win in my books!
Seems like Mic 2 had the noise reduction turned on (yellow grid in the menu at 10:47) , that's why it performed better in the faucet test. However, this also makes it sound flatter. Did you try a test with noise cancellation turned off?
Can you do a comparison between a direct bluetooth connection between the transmitter and phone, and a phone with receiver and transmitter setup? Great video. Thanks!
As a motorcycle rider, the bluetooth connectivity to action cameras, is the best evolution I could have hoped for. With that, I’ll take the lesser sound quality of the DJI 2, when compared to the Rode Wireless Pro. I can fix the bass in post, and not having to wire up every single helmet I’m using, is a huge timesaver. First world problems…I know. Still, massive advancement by DJI, including the noise cancellation feature, which the Rode Pro doesn’t have. Good stuff! ….take my money…😂
Great video! I love my Original DJI Mic set, but I may end up upgrading. I hate the plastic Cold Shoe mount on the original DJI Mic. Is the permanently connected on on the DJI Mic 2 plastic or Metal? Or a hybrid? I'm always afraid I'll break the cold shoe when mounting it on tight shoe mounts, like on my GoPro cage.
It's still a plastic shoe on the Mic2, but the shoe on the Mic2 is thinner and shorter so it's way easier to mount and dismount the Mic 2-- So they solved the problem you're mentioning. I have both and just compared. I liked the black casing on the mic1 better than the clear plastic of the mic2, and i don't like that they put dji logos on the magnets of the Mic2.
a few questions. 1. Can 32-bit sound be recorded into the camera? via a transmitter. when using Rode? When using DJi mic v2? 2. If I use the same lavalier microphone, will the Rode have an audio advantage? 3. Does noise canceling work with the lavalier microphone? ps. Don't forget that the Rode comes with two lavalier microphones and that's cool. Thanks for answers!
Maybe I missed this but what are the key reasons you upgraded to the DJI Mic 2 over the original. And is it possible that someone might be just fine w/ the original in certain situations? Or across the board, if money is no object, would the DJI 2 be better? (aside from the visual element you mentioned which i completely agree w/ as well)

I'm just on the fence which one to buy but on my professional studio monitors (Yamaha HS80m) I can clearly say that rode sounds ways better. DJI mic 2 has some muddiness to it (around the 250hz to my ears). The rode sounds more "open" and "pristine" and also have more bass (but this is not important for this comparison). I hear the muddiness around there as well in this video but watched another where that didn't seem so bad. I do wonder if a better lavalier mic hooked to this could clear up any of these shortcomings. So far none of these wireless systems sound amazing and have kept me to using a non wireless wearable recorder along with decent lavs.
Great video review. I also wanted to thank you for the Part 107 I was able to study and been a certified drone pilot for over 2 years now. It has helped me and made people feel more comfortable to hire meafter I have shown them the ID. Thank you🙏
For iPhone, will there be a phone upgrade to allow using the native Camera app instead of a third-party? Or, is that the limitation of how Apple iOS works?
These aren’t fact, just my theory: I don’t think the Apple camera app will ever allow it. It’s not a defect in the native camera app, it’s just that the native app doesn’t give the option to use another mic - this probably won’t change anytime soon. The Black Magic app does give an option to use another mic.
I just bought the DJI Mic 2 , was planning to use this at home for recording with screen recording and replacing the Rode NT USB. But its not up to the mark. Probably will just keep it for the outdoor recordings.
Man Tony just gave them good profitable ideas, especially having a custom print service for logos. Maybe having add on firmware for more sound analytics you can see on the device or have it linked to your phone via an app, letting you see any distortions or peaks. Maybe having 3D print files for people looking to create their own case with different colors.
Thanks for the demonstration. To be honest, I don't like the sound from any of the mics you demonstrated. I've even complained about using the Rode mics on another channel, he didn't like it and yanked the comment. I didn't say anything negative about the person, just the mic. I would say they are OK for recording a family picnic, but for professionals, they just don't make the cut for my ears. I listen with recording studio headphones so I have the quality needed to judge. Granted it's going through YT. That's not the best environment to pick something, a clean version is the more accurate way to determine anything, not through YT. In a way I think they are trying to make these mics sound like Bose speakers, the spaghettios of HiFi speakers. I watch your videos because of the quality information offered, not the audio which could be better. I only say this because how great you say these mics are. So let's just honestly disagree. At least they are cardiod mics. I think the best way to say what is happening is that these companies are selling to the masses who really don't know what good audio is. It takes years of learning or cribbing off of an expert. Also, for what these mics are in quality, they are over priced by at least a factor of ten. That is because quality mics are priced starting around this level, but you need to know what you are doing and how to use a mic. It's actually is more important than good lighting.
Oh I get it. My VO mic is a Neumann TLM 103. But, honestly, audio quality mostly just needs to be "good enough" and workflow features like having a backup copy of the audio on each mic and levels I can see are overall more important for many types of videos we create. Keep in mind the vast majority of viewers are on their phones using their phone speaker. If there was another lav mic that offered drastically better audio, I'd happily switch. However, I've tested a bunch of lavs and they're all pretty similar, give or take subtle differences that most people wouldn't notice. But they'll never match my big Neumann.
I used a Røde Wireless 2 on my DJI action 4 camera and outside and walking around it is 100% perfect no one is better than those and if you complain about that then you must have special ears that no other peoples have because it is what my voice are and the sound from the birds are all perfeck so what you say they are not perfeck then your desission is wrong.
@@eddale5557 Believe it or not, this is my second attempt at writing this.TH-cam's server crashed and took my epistle with it. I think you are a person that is very careful when doing things. That means your video and your audio will be more than just acceptable, if not superb. Røde mics I find more difficult to use, especially the wireless versions. In broadcasting, radio and television, you seldom will find a Røde system or even their mics used. It will either be more expensive microphones or less expensive. I believe you want to learn. Good. This takes time. At 73 years old, I still have pretty good hearing, but more importantly I trained my ear to hear the subtle differences in sound. Something like a piano tuner, but not quite the same. It annoys me that thousands of dollars are spent on video when audio is actually more important to most people. I could name channels. When I find one I will try to find an email to point something out, not in comments where it could be considered a negative statement. And yes, TH-camrs can make equipment perform poorly. As a TH-camr myself, I have made my mistakes. But, I am not trying put put a pristine video up. Just a bit of humble information. Keep learning. Thank you for your good comments. Be safe.
I would love to know if the sound could be improved with a better lavalier microphone. Also, can the transmitter deliver plug in power to a lav? The kit looks very functional but sadly the sound is just not good.
Thinking out loud... Currently using a canon r5 with a Rode NTG shotgun mic. I'm thinking I could run the 3.5 straight into the dji mic 2 transmitter to take advantage of internal 32 bit recordings for my videos....
not trying to troll, but i'm feeling the audio in this video is not impressing me. I've heard earlier reviews from you guys where the audio sounded *substantially* better. Maybe I'm listening more critically since this is about audio vs. cameras, but I'm honestly kind of amazed how not so great it sounds in parts of this video. Am I the only one who feels that way? I was seriously thinking of buying one of these, but I'm inclined not to now.
Great review, thanks! However, according to the specifications at "my" store there's no lab mic included in any of the DJI Mic sets (single or with two transmitters). Did you maybe get a "special edition" just for this review?
The HDR footage looked kinda weird here next to the non-HDR lower thirds and outro graphics. Also the auto exposure flickering in the studio was a bit distracting when I was viewing at 2x speed. As always, thanks for the review and I hope you take this feedback.
Tested the DJI MIC 2 when I got 2 Pocket 3s a few months ago. Very hollow / nasally sound from the DJI vs the Rode Wireless Pro - and yes I tried all setting even 32bit float. Rode wins.
Yes I don't understand all the positive reviews for the dji 2. They sound terrible. Either people are paid or they have genuinely have no clue about audio
Tony, I have been watching you for years. I have to ask has the transition from a still photographer to shooting video been a difficult transition? Because video is definitely a different skill set. Light control, iso and of corse frame rate. The use of nd filters and learning sound engineering. For me my love is stills landscape/portraits. I started shooting film now I create little 10 min stories in 4k. I have struggled telling my stories using video. I used to tell a story with a single still.
While the combo package is cool. All I need is just the transmitter and maybe their lav. I can probably just use the lavs I already have. It would be a $40 cheaper option than the Neewer 32-bit float lav. Sync in post is trivial at this point so I don't see it as a negative.
As a rode wireless pro user, how is the workflow syncing the internal audio back to the scratch tracks? Is there any timecode, or are you going by waveform? thanks!
I’ll be honest, I watched your video because it didn’t have a thumbnail of some person making a silly face, pointing or holding the product. Great review.
Hello - thanks for review. I have a Mic 1 (2tx + 1rx + charging case) and an Osmo Action 4. I want to get a one mic 2 tx so I can blue tooth to my action camera. My question is can the version 1 rx work with the vs 2 tx? Is the charging case compatible - I don’t want to buy a whole set again Thanks
I bought two sets of the Rode Wireless Pro and I have to say it's a near perfect wireless system at a great price. Unfortunately when I connected the DPA 4063 microphones to it, I started catching crazy interference so I bought the DJI MIC 2 and it's ok.
One slight error. I would just forget "sound engergy" or "sound power" references in future reviews. Sound intensity, or Sound Pressure Level (SPL) is what's measured at a distance from a sound source. It changes with distance. Sound Power or Sound Energy is a measure of the total acoustic power or energy emitted from a source. It does not change with distance. Even though a 3dB change in power is a halfing or doubling of power, that's not what's measured at a distance, and not what you're looking at in the FCP analyzer. A 6dB change in Sound Pressure is a halfing or doubling of sound pressure. That's what the analyzer in FCP is looking at. If you double the distance from a source to a mic you will loose 6dB in Sound Pressure, and any meter will reflect that change. A 10dB change on the FCP analyzer (or any meter) indicates a generally accepted halving or doubling of percieved loudness (all other factors held equal...which, of course, the may not really be). Percieved loudness is typically measured by a change in SPL, not sound power.
I have watched a couple of reviews on the mic 2 this morning. Just listening while working, I looked at the screen every time I hear good audio to see which one it is… It’s the Rode Pro. I know it’s subjective, but the Rode comparisons sound better in the reviews I have seen/heard this morning.
Glad I could help you decide, no matter which you pick! It sounded muffled to me listening on AirPod Max headphones... the lower-end is louder but it doesn't really have more dynamic range. Like, my VO mic has way more dynamic range and much better low-end but doesn't sound muffled. Either way if the Rode had the features of the DJI Mic 2 I'd choose the Rode, because the workflow actually means more to me than just the audio quality (given that the audio difference isn't that huge).
The Northrup brand is not a logo or even a couple of friendly faces. The Northrup brand is integrity and consumer-focused reviews. The only big TH-camrs that review tech and refuse to take money from the products they review. No sponsored "showcases" either.
The core difference is in the file format of the audio recording. The DJI Mic 2s can now record in 32-bit Float, which gives you a broader dynamic range so that people with more dynamic voices (those who laugh MUCH louder than they speak, or whose speaking voice fluctuates from quiet to loud ) can be recorded with less chance of audio 'clipping' - the distortion you hear when the audio signal from the microphone surpasses its maximum recording level.
Nope. Watched the video on my Macbook Pro with pretty good speakers. I don't hear much of a difference. Maybe it's just me but I don't care that much about the sound in any youtube video. As long as you have the options presented in this video, it is not bad. @@cartapo2669
@@cartapo2669 100% agreed, but in another review by a different creator, the DJI Mic 2 and the Rode Wireless Pro sound a lot closer to one another in quality. I feel like we need more info comparing the Mic 2s to the Rodes. Specifically targeting the Low Pass Filter setting and Lavalieres.
Listening to this on Bose noise-cancelling headphones through my Google Pixel, I would say the Rode Wireless Pro definitely sounds markedly and repeatedly better with its wider bass frequency. The DJI Mark II sounds better than Mark I, but the billboarding on even the receiver magnets is atrocious. I would be curious to see how this compares to the new Deity wireless system as I would prefer not to use any of these 2.4GHz options in my continued work.
I definitely prefer the sound of the rode, even though it doesn’t cancel out noise as much it just sounds so much more natural and pleasant whereas the dji makes Tony’s voice almost a bit annoying to listen to. Clear improvement over version 1 but no, Rode is still far ahead in terms of audio quality.
Purchase my DJI mic 2 kit and was sad to say I was dissatisfied with the audio quality. It almost sounds as if there is a cut in the lows, even with noise reduction turned off.
Tony, are you planing to do a comparison with the Hollyland Lark 2? It's true that they are in another price category, however they are very comfortable and good looking.
The Lark M2 looks cool, but not very professional. The Lark Max is a good contender, but only 24bit recording. I believe it has much better noise reduction though which could sway others to use for that purpose
The final segment with the lav mic has the receiver plugged into the a7s3 and I didn't hear any buzzing... but we also never experienced buzzing with the original DJI Mics.
If you wanted to. I've used many wireless mic systems like these to send audio to PA speakers. Might not be the best audio, but definitely works in a pinch
Can I use the Rode lavelier Go mic with the DJI mic 2? When connecting directly to my camera I have to supply power to the microphone to use them. I’d like to be able to use my professional lav mics with this.
Nice, but none of these companies have realized that the charging case must be able to accommodate everything! Including lav mics and deadcats. Insted they insist on us having to bring a case in a case in our camera bag.
Yeah I'm pretty annoyed by that, too. If I use the lavs, which I usually do, I have to disconnect them, bundle them up, and put them in separate storage. Same with the deadcats and the analog audio out cable that goes to the camera. Ideally I'd like to keep the lav mics connected to the transmitters and have a way to charge and store everything - maybe there's a way to wind up the lav cord inside the charging case.
@@TonyAndChelsea One idea on how to do that. Similar to what Justin mentioned above by getting a third party case the DJI case sits within and the accessories are all there attached to that. But the tricky part is keeping the lavs connected that will require some alterations to the case 😅 Maybe by cutting a little hole somewhere on the front of the lid so the lav wire can come out, then having something on the third party case to wind it all up Maybe it would've been a good idea to have a flap similar to some cameras battery bay doors where it has a little flap door for a dummy battery cable to thread through so you can still close the battery bay Or better yet, have a lav that can retract on a little reel. Like those cheap earbuds
Listening to the 3 mics as you were switching between them, the Rode is definately the best of the 3. All of them are good, but the Rode just sounds better IMHO.
What triggers the recording function on each transmitter? Are they always recording and creating one long file? Can they be triggered by pressing the record button on the camera? I really appreciate any help you can provide.
You can do this multiple ways - change the settings to auto start recording when turned on - Start/Stop the recording via the receiver - Press the record button on the transmitter itself From my recordings from the first gen DJI mics. It's always been one file per recordings
@cerl981 nailed it. We just have them auto-record when they're on and I only pull the file when something goes wrong.

the dji mic ... you can simply use it right away and it simply works ... and it is intuitive ... when you want the data of the transmitter, you just plug it into the pc ... and done... on the orde you try to do that then it will not work, you will download all software and curse as much as you can until you find out you have to put it into the loading case and then the loading case can connect to the pc so you can get the data from te transmitter. you need the app etc. i love the dji mic
I so wish you levelled up the audio from your mic? One minute you're lower on audio the next (usually when you're leanings toward the camera) you blow my ears off. Surprised you thought this would be okay.
Does 32bit record on the internal transmitter or only when it sends it to the receiver? Also the safety track that is -6db , is that recorded onto the internal transmitter also? Or only the receiver. It would be great if 32bit and quieter safety track were part of the internal recordings without the receiver.
The 32-bit is internal to the transmitter, but the receiver doesn't have any way to record AFAIK. The safety track is output by the receiver to the camera, so it's not in the transmitter. But you wouldn't need it in the transmitter because you have the 32-bit float track which has all the dynamic range anyway.
Hi, just wondering regarding the 32-bit option - is that only enabled when recording audio internally onto the mic2, OR does it record 32-bit when connected to a Sony Alpha (for example lets say the A1 or FX3) via the connection cable from mic2 to the camera? I assumed it would, but know I come to think about it, I'm guessing perhaps it doesn't record 32-bit onto the Sony camera file? Many thanks for answers in advance, Andrew
Yeah what @JamesJacksonFilmz said. Internal to the transmitter only. So when you need it, you connect the transmitter via USB-C and copy the file then sync it in your video editor.

Thank you🙏
You are the only professional I trust to give an objective opinion on DJI. That company has bought EVERY OTHER TECH REVIEWER!
@@CAMTechChris Thank you
you need to redo the audio... its very bad.
I just bought the DJI Mic 2 , was planning to use this at home for recording with screen recording and replacing the Rode NT USB. But its not up to the mark. Probably will just keep it for the outdoor recordings.
Thank you for the excellent review - any data on the latency of the DJI Mic 3 vs, the Rode?
Ordered as soon as I got the email from B&H! I've been waiting for this since purchasing the Osmo Pocket 3 creator combo last year!
Is Lav coming with the kit or we have to buy separate ?
Thinking out loud... Currently using a canon r5 with a Rode NTG shotgun mic. I'm thinking I could run the 3.5 straight into the dji mic 2 transmitter to take advantage of internal 32 bit recordings for my videos....
Thanks for this review, I've got the DJI 1 mics and absolutely love them, but the 32 float makes me totally want the 2s!
not trying to troll, but i'm feeling the audio in this video is not impressing me.
He didn't disable the base options on the DJI, that's why
Quite bad audio in a video about “the best mic ever”.
Been waiting for the DJI mic 2 videos to drop :)
Would stereo mode from these 2 DJI Mike 2 sound better at a music concert than a SONY ECM-M1 or B1M?
Fantastic review, thank you Tony. I am going to pick them up today!
Rode wins.
So no change to the DJI Mic 1 then...
Rode or DJI, which is better sound from Tx and with Lavs ?
I just picked up the dji mic 2nd generation I have the first . Let’s see the difference .
Can it connect to a gopro wirelessly? Withhout plugging in the receiver to the gopro? Like through Bluetooth or anything?
No, but you could just record internally to the mic and sync it later. Just takes a few clicks.
I love my DJI mic, but I’ve had some connectivity issues with my Action 3.
Can Rode Wireless Pro be used as bluetooth mic for zoom calls on macbook/iphone?
While the combo package is cool. All I need is just the transmitter and maybe their lav. I can probably just use the lavs I already have. It would be a $40 cheaper option than the Neewer 32-bit float lav. Sync in post is trivial at this point so I don't see it as a negative.
As a rode wireless pro user, how is the workflow syncing the internal audio back to the scratch tracks? Is there any timecode, or are you going by waveform? thanks!
does rode having something cool for that?

DJi Mic 1 sounds better then DJi Mic 2 for me
I’ll be honest, I watched your video because it didn’t have a thumbnail of some person making a silly face, pointing or holding the product. Great review.
Hello - thanks for review. I have a Mic 1 (2tx + 1rx + charging case) and an Osmo Action 4. I want to get a one mic 2 tx so I can blue tooth to my action camera. My question is can the version 1 rx work with the vs 2 tx? Is the charging case compatible -
I don’t want to buy a whole set again
Thanks
I bought two sets of the Rode Wireless Pro and I have to say it's a near perfect wireless system at a great price. Unfortunately when I connected the DPA 4063 microphones to it, I started catching crazy interference so I bought the DJI MIC 2 and it's ok.
I swear the DJI mics have a different and digital feel to the audio, whereas the Rode sounds fuller, maybe more analog too
One slight error.
Is the wireless data stream between the DJI Mic 2 and the receiver encrypted?
If you think the DJI 2 sounds better you honestly might need to get your hearing checked.
Work flow is a weighted value too. I do enjoy your reviews.
Hi Great Video, My ZVE1 has bluetooth, Can you connect the transmitter directly to the Camera? That would be awesome
Unfortunately not. It's a limitation of the camera. It's ridiculous that no modern camera company other than DJI supports wireless mics in 2024.
When DJI mic 5 comes out, Tony will be walking around testing and comparing all of them like a North Korean general.
The Northrup brand is not a logo or even a couple of friendly faces. The Northrup brand is integrity and consumer-focused reviews. The only big TH-camrs that review tech and refuse to take money from the products they review. No sponsored "showcases" either.
Thank you for this review! Very well done and informative. SUBSCRIBED!
Can they be used to transmit live through a laptop connected to speakers?
What is the difference between the previous dji and this one..have they improved the mics..???
The core difference is in the file format of the audio recording. The DJI Mic 2s can now record in 32-bit Float, which gives you a broader dynamic range so that people with more dynamic voices (those who laugh MUCH louder than they speak, or whose speaking voice fluctuates from quiet to loud ) can be recorded with less chance of audio 'clipping' - the distortion you hear when the audio signal from the microphone surpasses its maximum recording level.
No reason to upgrade my v1s, appreciate the vid Tony!
Magnets on the DJI Mic 1s are better because they don't have DJI logos all over them too.
I like this- appears that we can op for this device and save some money, and still get good quality audio for cell phone video. That's fantastic.
Interesting comparison. Maybe it's just me but I don't hear much of a difference in the three. All sound very good to me. I'm gonna stick to my DJI 1.
Did you use headphones? The DJI mic 2 is very noticeably worse than the others
Specifically targeting the Low Pass Filter setting and Lavalieres.
will that DJI mic 2 work with GoPro 11?
The Wireless Pro just sounds better… And I like the design of the Mic 1 a lot better.
You've finally gotten the Nikon zf! I'm not even in the market for a new camera but I want to see the review!
90s kids love their transparent electronics! 😄
Hey and thank’s. One question: Is it possible to connect two mics to an Iphone via bluetooth? Best regards. DavidS
How is the long hours sync with the camera with varies frame rate? Thanks.
Can 3 separate DJI Mic2’s be bonded in post?
Yeah you just set the audio to dual mono instead of stereo.
Purchase my DJI mic 2 kit and was sad to say I was dissatisfied with the audio quality. It almost sounds as if there is a cut in the lows, even with noise reduction turned off.
In the old dji mic you could put the iPhone adapter on and store it inside the case. Doesn’t look like you can do that here.
Yeah that still works
Can you connect 2 microphones wirelessly to the Osmo Pocket 3 without using the bundled receiver?
Yep. Just get the single mic kit.
@@mattconstance2196 Thanks for the quick reply!
Tony, are you planing to do a comparison with the Hollyland Lark 2? It's true that they are in another price category, however they are very comfortable and good looking.
Hmm interesting I hadn't seen those! They look great and I'll check them out.
Oh they don't support internal recording 😞. That's a must-have for us. It's saved us a few times.
The Lark M2 looks cool, but not very professional.
The Lark Max is a good contender, but only 24bit recording. I believe it has much better noise reduction though which could sway others to use for that purpose
I wish the new Mic 2 worked with TRRS without an adapter. The Mic 1 worked fine with my Shure MVL no problem, which is TRRS.
Main question here is have they fixed the buzzing if you put the receiver any where near the Sony A7S3 ?
The final segment with the lav mic has the receiver plugged into the a7s3 and I didn't hear any buzzing... but we also never experienced buzzing with the original DJI Mics.
Should have compared them to the Saramonic wireless system.
Also holy HDR when did this happen lol it looks soooo good on my MacBook and phone! Getting that extra bitrate from TH-cam helps also. 🎉
Can you plug in the base station to a Rack mounted Media player and send the sound through a sound system?
If you wanted to.
I've used many wireless mic systems like these to send audio to PA speakers. Might not be the best audio, but definitely works in a pinch
Can I use the Rode lavelier Go mic with the DJI mic 2? When connecting directly to my camera I have to supply power to the microphone to use them. I’d like to be able to use my professional lav mics with this.
Yeah I'd think any lav mic would work. It's a standard connector.
Sir which camera do you use.
Sony a7S III.
Why does the dji mic 1 sound better than dji mic 2?
why do you get the lavier mic in the pack\?
Nice, but none of these companies have realized that the charging case must be able to accommodate everything! Including lav mics and deadcats. Insted they insist on us having to bring a case in a case in our camera bag.
Thinking the same, love my v1 mics minus what you spelled out here. Such an easy fix to make room for these small things 🤦🏼♂️🤷♂️
I bought an after market holder that goes around the DJI mic that has slots for the dead cats and the cord.
But the tricky part is keeping the lavs connected that will require some alterations to the case 😅
Maybe by cutting a little hole somewhere on the front of the lid so the lav wire can come out, then having something on the third party case to wind it all up
Maybe it would've been a good idea to have a flap similar to some cameras battery bay doors where it has a little flap door for a dummy battery cable to thread through so you can still close the battery bay
Or better yet, have a lav that can retract on a little reel. Like those cheap earbuds
Listening to the 3 mics as you were switching between them, the Rode is definately the best of the 3. All of them are good, but the Rode just sounds better IMHO.
It does have more bass!
It also sounds way less muffled than the DJI Mic 2@@TonyAndChelsea
What triggers the recording function on each transmitter? Are they always recording and creating one long file? Can they be triggered by pressing the record button on the camera? I really appreciate any help you can provide.
You can do this multiple ways
- change the settings to auto start recording when turned on
- Start/Stop the recording via the receiver
- Press the record button on the transmitter itself
From my recordings from the first gen DJI mics. It's always been one file per recordings
Thanks, @@cerl981. This is outstanding.
DJI Mic 2 sound so digital. The Rode pro sound amazing.
32 bit is transmitter only. So if you want to use it in post, you will still have to sync it.
32 bit float is recorded only in the transmitter. The receiver does not have 32 bit float nor can send 32 bit float to the camera.
Yeah what @JamesJacksonFilmz said. Internal to the transmitter only. So when you need it, you connect the transmitter via USB-C and copy the file then sync it in your video editor.
