Have you noticed that Fern's bracelet and Frieren's ring, while featuring the same mirror lotus flower motif, are slightly different in their design?
The design of the bracelet is in full bloom, while the design of the ring is in bud.
The meaning of this difference is the difference between the two couples, Fern and Stark, and Frieren and Himmel. The relationship between the young couple, which will undoubtedly nurture and blossom in the future, and the relationship between Frieren and Himmel, which never bloomed.
It is a sad & beautiful story.

It's probably in my top 5 episodes.
At first, kind of sad that Himmel was aware that his feelings could never be reciprocated just by the nature of their respective life expectancies (note: the clock between them in that "proposal" scene). He was sly to take that opportunity to demonstrate his love even knowing she'd have no clue what he was doing or why.
At the same time, it was his choice to remain devoted to the unattainable, and he didn't seem particularly regretful about it. He was a simple guy who just helped everyone he could and derived fulfilment from that. And in the end, he only had positive feelings toward her. Watching the 1st episode is so much more meaningful when you understand the relationship better.
Ugh I loved that moment and how subtle he was in displaying his feelings for her and I really love how he is aware of how things would work out between them but yeah still remains devoted, it was such a nice moment and I’m so glad Frieren still thinks about it and appreciates it more and more now 🥲🥲
Oh also I agree, too 5 episodes for sure! (So far for me anyways!)

Such an amazing episodes😭 cry every time when he puts the ring on lol also if you look back to the first episode after the scene when they bury himmel and frieren says, "dont pat my head." . You can see she was holding the ring for a second

5:45 I find myself resonating with the priests and monks in this show. They all have this wisdom about interaction with others that most characters lack in this show.

I'm pretty sure Fern knew the meaning of the design. On a different note, Frieren is shown playing or looking at the ring in several earlier episodes, such as when Himmel was being buried

It’s great to have some episodes to be at an easy going pace to understand the background, personality and relationships of each character. When there is an episode with fast pace action and some flashbacks, it makes the fight scenes more meaningful I think 😊
Man, after watching this some episode 1 clip pop up in my youtube homepage where Frieren is looking at the same ring right after Himmel was buried. I was sad after watching this episode an now I'm super sad
This episode is why I love Frieren and Himmel **so** much. I love the beautiful tragedy of their relationship.
I adore and love that Fern and Stark will probably, most likely, have with they didn't get to have.
But them being almost a certainty is why they're second to Frieren and Himmel's relationship, for me personally.
Yeah I totally agree, Frieren and Himmel are for sure my favourite couple and I live for this romantic tragedy of a story for them, it makes me feel all sorts of emotions. I do like watching Stark and Ferns relationship grow too 🥲

18:10 recently saw it pointed out that at this point there is the clock between Frieren and Himmel. This could be symbolically showing that they are separated by time. 😢
I believe Frieren’s memories and possessions like those from Himmel are more important to her than she wants to outwardly admit. In my opinion you should look more at what women do than what they say. She said «maybe», but the way she held the ring said everything.

I find it unlikely that freiren, an elf whose favorite spell is conjuring a field of flowers, has a master whose favorite spell is also conjuring a field of flowers, and often takes care of flowers (she is seen "gardening" when Himmel invited her to join the party), does not know the language of flowers.
The lost accessory spell was "Deus ex Magica" but I'm not for it.

Honestly I wouldn't even call him a player he's just a genuinely nice and cool dude and gets no shortage of women because of it. At the very least he's a very thoughtful and considerate sorta guy rather than like a I'mma use these hoes fuckboi type.

Freiren's pacing is slow if you focus on collecting plot tickets. This episode did nothing to progress the plot, but it built on characters and their relationships. It also does it in an organic way for the story, unlike a beach episode in a typical anime.
I looooove the slower pacing of this show, and like even though not much plot wise happened in this episode I’m 100000% happy with it and just happy to see the characters and these episodes are like my favourites I’m loving them
