I'm writing this comment with a mouth joystick because I'm a quadriplegic as a result of a 19 year old distracted driver hitting me. 33 years old, just got married a year and a half before the accident, ready to start a family, and MY LIFE WAS DESTROYED in the blink of an eye. This is no joke... Willingly or not your vehicle is a weapon, and vehicular manslaughter will put you in prison for many years. This is not only for teenagers, but many grown "adults" out there that have less brain cells than wheels on the road. Please drive safely everyone and PAY ATTENTION!!
I'm surprised our smart phones don't detect we're driving and just shuts off by now, but guess we just hope everyone will behave behind the wheel. I had a friend almost killed closing i-80 a semi had stopped to turn around another semi driver was watching a fight on his phone didn't see what was going on and slammed into the stopped semi, lucky my friend seen it coming and was able to run away from the debris but shouldn't have been a situation in the first place.
The only problem with that is there are less police and traffic cops on the roads ,I see people on their phones frequently in rotherham and South Yorkshire . It might work better over there though.
"Caught" You very clealy don't realize how vast our country is I haven't seen police in literal months. Stop thinking every location in America is the same place.
Sometimes my prefrontal cortex is driving, or cerebellum, or even my amygdaloid complex. There is more to driving than you imagine. Need MRI studies in how people use the brain while on the road.
What gets me is how this responsible video seems to suggest it's ok to have a phone IN the car; why is that ok?...why do those phone fiddlers need to be in constant touch with...well, almost anything. ALL phones, everywhere, East and West, North and South should , by law, be placed in the boot of a car, away from the driver.....why isn't that the case?
Because you can't call for help in a serious accident if you're trapped in the front of the car and your phone is secured in the trunk. And don't think such a thing is unlikely because any such law would see challenges like this in no time, claiming people were dying needlessly because of a law meant to save lives. Laws don't make people smarter. Punishing everyone will not make those who lack self control or common sense any more trustworthy. Look at drinking and driving. You're not allowed open liquor bottles in the car but people still drink and drive. Maybe public flogging will help curb the issue. Sometimes the old ways work and virtually no punishments unless someone dies obviously isn't doing enough.
If I got a text from my sister that I would pull into a parking lot to park and then text her back. I text her that I’m driving right now and it can wait till I get home. My car have text from Apple Car Play that I speak the text back and send it. All I use my iPhone is playing music towards Apple Car Play. I used the map for listening the directions towards this one certain place. A few years ago that my sister called me and I used BT so that I talked to her while driving. That was between 2012-2016. I don’t remembered the year it was. I do remembered what it was about.
You in the US can't talk to your passengers without crashing, and you do the same when you use the car's setup to talk on your mobile phone. If you add texting and such, it gets really bad. We in Scandinavia, like Norway and Denmark, manage well and talk to our passengers and we don't crash like you. We can also talk on the mobile phone when it is connected to the car without also crashing. We only crash when texting or other use of our mobiles. And those numbers are much prettier than yours, I can promise. Not without reason that in Scandinavia we say stupid Americans in a sarcastic way
How do you propose we contact emergency services when these muppets cause accidents ? 100% agree, ignore all road accidents, not my problem, why should i help.
Murder!! Like seriously. It's a very bad idea driving distracted. But charge with murder??? He intentionally used the phone, but how did he intentionally killed a person? I drive big rigs Midwest and East coast USA and in Canada and every day I drive and watch people of all walks of life driving in a distracted way, including police. Phone is the main culprit. But to charge someone with murder because of such negligent behavior is excessive. It doesn't matter, shit will always happen. It's just the nature of life.
That's so true. There are actually people who plan a murder, then go through with it and they get charged with way less. That's such crap. While it's sad, yes and avoidable, he didn't plan and then execute someone purposely.
its not a mistake though , you make a conscious choice to use your phone , in the uk that would be classed as death by careless driving , also i wish our cps would hand out stiffer sentences on death by dangerous driving i.e. 25 years in prison.
The cop should not have been parked in the middle of the right lane! No cones or anything. That also plays a part. He should have been in the shoulder with his lights on I didnt even see blue lights

Just do what we do over here across the pond. Caught texting twice, no driving licence for like a year.

This is why inward facing cameras in trucks are becoming more common amongst Carriers.
You add the big tablet touchscreens that are fitted in new cars last couple of years
Every driver kind looks for this video for the safety on the road because everyone be safe 🙏 ❤️

Thank you .
Very good video. Thumbs up.
Thanks for a useful video. 👍
That fuel tanker driver should have been charged with involuntary manslaughter.

10k lb 18 wheeler ? You better weigh the wagon too
the truck by itself without a trailer weighs more than that 😂 a Bobtail weighs 20k & a tractor-trailer weighs 33k empty

The last video smh… so busy recording someone else all the while your driving distracted.
Self driving trucks can't come soon enough to get these menaces off the road.
These so called menaces are the one being underpaid for you to be able to live yougnster
Maybe look into building cars that block cell phone signals and automatically sends reply texts and voicemail message that says you are in a car
