Best advice I could give you is to check your mirrors every 6 or so seconds, so you’re aware of your surroundings at all times. I’m currently over 1 mil miles in 9 years, no accidents, no tickets….yet 😅😅 Be safe on the road 🤘🏽😛
most likely yes this is avoided with easy exercises. simplest is stand with feet about 18 inches apart 8-10 inches from wall then put both arms straight out then bend at waist putting both hands flat palmed on wall between legs. and repeat works well for sciatic nerve pain from sitting for prolong periods of time
How I learned how to drive a regular car (no joke) gta. I used to drive regularly like it was me in the car. Now I'm good driver... somewhat. I still make mistakes like hitting a curb, but I've never hit a person so that's good.

Another good tip is do not make a right turn on a red light. Wait till it is green. I only turn right on red if there is little to no traffic and I am know the area.

In all seriousness, if you play a sim you have the leisure to make as many mistakes until you get it. It's essentially trial error, but in the real world, not much room for mistakes at all.
Take as much real estate as you can. I usually take up half of the lane next to me when I make turns on semi tight (or if I’m unsure how wide the road is) turns.
@@AK47HEAVYMETAL83 I always use up as much space as I legally, safely, and reasonably can whether I’m doing turns or backing up or whatever, even if it means I’m doing a 70ft pull-up to line up perfectly straight with the dock or I swing out 20 ft more than necessary because why the hell not? And in my years of driving I’ve never come close to hitting something because of off tracking… except maybe a curb or two 😬

I keep driving the truck like a car and keep hitting the curbs and Im driving my instructor crazy. He always says: "Watch the mirrors, Watch the mirrors" and Im not listening. Only now I realize what he is trying to say and how imortant this is. Thank you so much for this visual course. This is life changing.

Do you have any videos that demonstrate single lane turns? My DMV test is only on single lane roads. I failed because I took up too much space and ran over a curb. :( Prior to my test I have only performed turns demonstrated in this video which are considered “easy.” I need harder more complex in town/city turns. Any help would be much appreciated! Thank you!
I drive class B jet/vac trucks for work, but want my A license. This video makes me feel somewhat more confident about making the turns. But I learn more so by visual, not drawing so maybe more talking with the on road portions? Haha

When I was getting my class 1.(1985) My instructor told me if you don't remember anything from the class, " Always remember where your wheels are". CDL College Thank you for putting up these videos.
There are plenty of different scenarios. Being able to plan ahead is key. I have a intersection near my shop that i have to make that is a steep right turn. Sometimes i have to wait till the intersection clears to make the turn. Other times i come up. And have to make a slight button hook. When you have a case like that. Its important to know your trailer position to safely set up your turn. You want to make your turn so you can keep your trailer close enough to keep any vehicles from attempting to cut inside your turn. Thus only making your turn as wide as needed. When you master that. It makes that part of truck driving much less stressful. 33 years experience of hauling a can on the back.
TRAFFIC LANES ARE 10FT WIDE!!! Always look at your BOTTOM MIRROR to see if the FRONT of the back set if tires are far enough up before turning the wheel
This is off topic sorta but when I did my training 15 years ago I was taught GOAL get out and look while backing. Well when I did my driving test for my CDL first thing I did was go play in the cone yard and the old lady wanted me to back in between a set. Well it wasn't a hard one like a 45 or something but I stopped got out to go check where I was positioned and she said you can't do that. And I said thats how they taught me and she said you don't get to on your test. That kinda offended me but rules are rules I guess. I passed anyway
crazy, on our test in S.C. we get 2 free get outs. and any other after that is 1pt. 12 pts to fail so I used 3 get outs for a couple of my backups which got me 2pts.
I ran long haul for 48 years and pulled 53 foot trailer for the most part. This last year I have been running a local gravel haul. We use tridem end dump trailers, so they're still pretty long. I have been distressed to see many of our guys pulling these tridem gravel semi trucks turn from the inner right or left double turn lanes. It scares the heck out of me.
I always no matter if im driving a car or a pickup with a trailer i always think about the back wheels as my pivot. If the back cant make the turn then dont turn.

NGL this was a great tutorial but it's using the best scenarios a student can have: with nobody else on the road! Let's see how it's done with real city traffic.
It's horrible, people run yellow and red lights. They pass the stop line or wont back up if you end up in front of them. You'll likely stall from it and be a jackass sitting in the middle of the intersection. Especially when new to it, that is if you don't have the luxury or running automatic(I don't). Let's say I have to turn right and it's into a single lane. Traffic on the other side is waiting on the red to turn green. First jerk is well passed the line. I'm gonna have to hang back, hope nobody runs the red light and shoot into the opposite lane to make the turn. That's right, gotta "break the law" or i'm not making the damn turn. We have to do this ALL THE TIME.
CDL College LLC, you're welcome. Hope that you can have an overseas training center., As such that there is a lot of talented folks would want to learn how to drive semi trucks / rigs professionally

We already train people from many countries, but those people have moved to the USA so it's easy for them to come to school here in Colorado. Badr, do you want to come to America to earn a CDL and then return to the Philippines, or stay in America? I'm still a little confused about that...

You'll likely stall from it and be a jackass sitting in the middle of the intersection. Especially when new to it, that is if you don't have the luxury or running automatic(I don't).
Let's say I have to turn right and it's into a single lane. Traffic on the other side is waiting on the red to turn green. First jerk is well passed the line.
I'm gonna have to hang back, hope nobody runs the red light and shoot into the opposite lane to make the turn. That's right, gotta "break the law" or i'm not making the damn turn.
We have to do this ALL THE TIME.
Go straight turn late keep an eye on your trailer

We would love to open training centers all over the world! We already train people from many countries, but those people have moved to the USA so it's easy for them to come to school here in Colorado.
