    Same problem on the Tahoe with the back window/hatch. When you drive gravel it’s like a dust vacuum back there and you can hold the pressure washer there for a long time and you will never get all the dirt out. I not sure if the Escalade’s have the carpet wheel well liners too, but those are tough to wash out when you drive wet gravel roads.

    • @speck6451
      @speck6451 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, escalade does have them and yes they are a pain to clean. I understand reason to make less road noise.

    • @jlthom
      @jlthom 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      bc the rear is flat, air flowing above & under vehicle is forced back on to the rear surfaces. its just how air flows around a brick on the road. you'll notice that some newer suv's have (raked/angled) roofs that channel air across the back window almost eliminating the need for a rear wiper.

  • @bxb590
    @bxb590 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    You can add the front mud flaps. There exists adjustments under each running board. Two (socket head) screws can be loosened and slide the running board (closed position) to the rear of the vehicle. In addition, if you have trouble with the running boards opening and closing, remove the boards then clean and grease the two pivot pins, washers and bushings. Each running board must not bind during its operation. If you have the "toe kick" switch at the back end of the running board; its' control wire has broken and should be replaced. Normal day-to-day operation will cause the wire to break at the "elbows" of the running boards. My Silverado High Country has had all these issues. Good Luck and this is a great video!

    Great video, I have the 2023 Cadillac Escalade Sport Plat and would agree with all that y'all mentioned. But I would think what I would add is the ability to lock the vehicle from the rear hatch. In most cars they provide buttons to either close the hatch or to close and lock the hatch. Small things make life little easier

    My wife has a 23 Escalade with the Duramax and she’s absolutely in love with it, Dark moon metallic with the Brandy interior. She finally after 10 months got the update to have the reverse guidelines. She has the SD card 360 surround recording when parked and somehow that option eliminated the guidelines. Other than that, I do agree with many of your quirks as we share them as well. Just picked up some 22” winter wheels with some Blizzak winter tires to keep the chrome pretty in the spring. Keep up the work, your channel is damn decent Sir.
    Also, do you guys have the conversation enhancement feature? That is a damn cool feature and works well when you have family or friends in the back. Keeps the volume the person much lower.

    • @Donslife

    We have a 2021 Escalade and love it. That said, I’m about to surprise my wife with a V. (Radiant Red Metallic). I plan to install the black emblems (our current Escalade has the Onyx package-monochrome front, rear & sides). Do you find 404s painted emblems to wear well? That is my biggest concern, durability of the finish. Thanks.

    Our 2021 went through batteries. It was impossible to jump off leaving us stranded. Then the fuel module went out with 24000 miles on it. It stayed in the shop a month to get the part. When that fuel module goes out nothing works. We traded it. 4 times towing it was scary for dependability for wife’s cars. I have no idea why this car could not be jumped off. It was jumped once successfully.

      maybe a short cct somewhere bleeding power when the vehicle is off. exposed wire within engine compartment or under carpeting within interior. or possibly the battery connectors weren't on tight so the battery wouldn't get regularly recharged/topped-off by the alternator.

    I am considering one of these as a guy. Yes, it may not be as sophisticated as the europeans but at the same time, I'm American so if I'm buying something that expensive I want to be big as possible, can carry me and my family comfortably whenever we have huge road trips and outlive me cause the thing is our roads are huge, the car better run up to even a million miles. It seems like something I'd trust on a road trip. Also with European vehicles, My knee likes touching the dashboard a lot and I feel claustrophobic.

      the vehicle Bluetooth module is (persistent) which is annoying. its set to "always" connect a paired device whenever comes into range. i have a little Logitech Bluetooth adapter for audio connections to a old Bose media center. i'd arrive home listening to music or on a call & the Logitech Bt would immediately grab control of the phone connection. it was no way to disable the "auto" connect feature even on the phone settings.

    Nice review, as Doug D would say, of some of the "quirks and features". My suggestion for you two on the key fob "wake up" issue would be to pickup a stylish Faraday box to store your key fobs when not in use. The box will also provide added security of preventing signal cloning by car thieves when car is left in the driveway.

      Yep we do the same. All fobs go in the box when we get home. You can walk up to the Escalade and it does not wake it up. Oh and my wife just found out how safe they are😞. She was at a complete stop waiting to turn left and cross highway and a person decided to pass the car in front of it? She was hit head on and this person pushed her backwards about 75 feet. She said she was encapsulated in the airbag and was worried about hitting someone behind her. Luckily not. She is still shaken and now nervous about driving. Arrggg

    I’m in the process of getting a 2023 Cadillac Escalade and the one that’s more convenient to get doesn’t have the air ride suspension. There is one 3000 miles away that does, is it really worth it? The one I test drove felt great but I don’t have anything to compare to except my Lincoln Navigator that I’m trading in. Thanks

    • @Donslife
      @Donslife  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I have a feeling the one with air suspension probably has a few more options than the one without. For that vehicle I think it is worth it, but I understand if it is too far to get (6000 miles) there and back?

    • @michv4361
      @michv4361 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you so much for replying. I would just have it shipped to me but I would have to sell my vehicle instead of trade it in. Cadillac should just make all the Escalades with the air suspension. 😄 I'm used to my Navigator so the Escalade without the air ride drove great. Again Thank you for replying and I really like your videos. I'm going to get the Pedal Commander for the Diesel Escalade. It doesn't get up and go like my Navigator. • @Donslife
      @Donslife  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      We do and it works quite well. Correction, we have the IntelliBeam LED headlamps. Not the new adaptive headllamps.
      How they work: Utilize a high-speed computer with a sophisticated algorithm that can scan the driver’s field of view over 30 times per second, altering the LED headlamp coverage based on the scanned vehicles, motorcycles, and pedestrians in the driver’s field of view. This tech allows the vehicle to automatically adjust the headlamp beam to prevent glare for oncoming drivers.

    • @wulfjason
      @wulfjason 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      What does it do? How does it work? We don't have that option available in the US. Can you follow a car with your high beams on and they just split the car in front of you? Or do they work differently?

    This “review” is really just things y’all didn’t like which are quite frankly so minute that it just comes off as whining

    If the issues with your Cadillac giving you grief, maybe the tampering and modification could be the issues.

    • @Donslife
      @Donslife  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      One could suspect that, but these issues were prevalent before the addition of the bolt on CAI and plug in pedal commander. The dashcam and radar detector are not related to the thing’s mentioned in the video either.

    Wow what a life, I make six figures and their house and cars still feel extremely out of reach for me. I would need to make another 200k per year to do this comfortably. I just don’t know man…maybe I was born in the wrong family.

      I grew up and was raised by a single mother. Working hard (very hard) since 14 years old. I can only speak for myself, but I have made some huge personal sacrifices that in the long-term would benefit my family later in life.

    More the technology, more the headaches more the irritations. My advice we dont actually need all the technology in this world but just enough to help us in our day to day life. I dont wanna pay for stuff and then pay the doctor again for the headaches

      that exterior wrap is pretty nice. buy the plain black & then wrap in whatever color you chose. the original finish is protected - helps for resell/trade-in.

    People are more excited for the Lexus LX than the Escalade. Unbelievable... Reliability pricey outdated vs bling bling spacious updated for cheaper on used conditions.😮😮 I want a 2020 Escalade passion red, but I also love my peace of mind.. I am kind of confused for now.🫢🤔🤔
