Congratulations for resisting the urge to buy things you don't need, or for which you have no place. Antique shopping is fun and so is thrifting. However, it is best to not over clutter your home. I believe items are highlighted more, if they aren't competing with too many other items around them.
My husband and I also love having a date day going antique shopping together. I love your finds throughout your home. Just beautiful. And don’t be sorry about your kids adorable artwork 😉
This is what I love about your home. Your core is made of quality items. Good counter tops, nice cabinets great sink and stove. Then, the decor is thrifted. All the accents are affordable items. Love this concept ❤
Beautiful video. Thank you. Please don't apologize for your children's art work! If you feel the need to point out what it is that's great, but there is no need to apologize! It's adorable. I homeschooled my 3 children through 11th grade when they graduated and went on to college. The art work is the best!
Asking parents/grandparents if they would pass down antiques is a GREAT idea! I am currently clearing our my parents' house after one died and one went to assisted living and lamenting the fact that 1. so many of the stories attached to these family heirlooms are gone and 2. THEY didn't get to see the joy it gave others to receive their items. A couple in their 90's at our church downsized to an apartment and literally gave away all their furnishings. The young couples were joyful recipients! The older couple enjoyed telling all the stories attached to each piece and, I think, it made it easier to let go of the items. My daughter has a treasured Noah's ark ornament from them, and remembers them every Christmas!
Hey Andrea! I love going thrifting and antique shopping with you! I wish I had your shopping control. You're a very wise woman for your age! You first say that you don't have a spot for it, I say I will find a spot for it! Depending on how bad I want it! You definitely have a lot of self control. Love watching you, Andrea! 🤍🙏👍
Love your home tours. I have my fathers’ grandmothers dough bowl. She handed it down to my grandmother who handed it down to me. I also have a pie safe that was my mothers’ grandmothers and was handed down to me. Very special pieces that I love and cherish daily. Thank you for the tips on shopping for these pieces.❤
Thank You for taking us to these antique stores. Lately I haven't had much of a chance to go myself. I really enjoyed this. Your home is wonderful. Continued Blessings!
All your ideas on thrift shopping and antique stores is so much fun !!., sometimes it’s a hit or miss but you never know , that’s the fun of going!!! Let’s keep shopping for those bargains !!!!
I just love your home. I fell in love with the outside and inside the first time I watched it. It has been I think since the beginning of your first blogs.
Great tip to ask family. I've been handed down some stunning mid-century furniture that has been in my family for generations. Extra special to have these pieces and some hand-made items by my family. Fills out home with love and family ❤️
I too love to shop for blue and white. Pottery. It's a sickness😄 Not really, it's a passion. I can think of a lot worse things to be obsessed with. Love all your antique/ vintage finds. Wish I had more antique stores near by me.☺️Thank you once again for sharing
My husband and I also love going to antique shops .We usually start out together and then go off on our own mission, looking for items that interest us.
Hi, well here in Orlando Florida, I go to Yard Sale every Saturday and if you want to find old good stuff you have to go to the 55+, neighborhood ❤, and they have lots of good amazing stuff ,they really take good care of their stuff, but if you want to find new stuff for very cheap you have to go to the Rich area because the Rich people don't care they sometimes just give it to you they just want the stuff out of their house ,I love Florida ❤ my house looks AMAZING thanks to the Yard Sale / Garage Sale.
Oh Andrea my love for antiques!!! I got that from my mother as well, it’s so fun to go and see what can possibly come home with me! I love to collect crocks, kitchen utensils. I recently went to a flea market and found an antique wood folding table that I put in my kitchen as an island. It was only $40, thought that was a steal. The Lord really gave me the desires of my heart since it was my birthday!❤️
I plan on going antiquing either this weekend or next week. There’s a place in the town near us that is full. And there are so many booths. I’m not sure what I will be looking for. But I,will know when I see it. I bought a big trunk that says KINGSTON COFFEE on it. And I love it. We live in a city named Kingston. When we lived in Ohio. We went to a thrift store and we knew almost everyone who worked there. We haven’t found a place like that yet. I wish we would. I love antiques and thrifting.
You have acquired so…. MANY BEAUTIFUL ANTIQUE items, in your LOVELY HOME!!!! You have a GREAT COLLECTION!!! Thank you for taking us shopping with you & showing us your collection!!!!😊😃😁🥰
Thank you so much for taking us along while you went antique shopping. I really appreciate all the time and effort you put into providing your viewers with such quality content. 😊❤️
Yes when we go to Branson, I always love to go this Antique / Flea market store . It’s very similar to the one you went into . A lot of booths that would take all day to look through each booth.
How surprised I was to open up my latest Modern Farmhouse magazine and see your beautiful home in it. I loved reading the article too. Thanks for sharing this video!
Gorgeous antiques throughout your blog! Just a thought- please give an in person auction a go- best to research photos of items up for bidding- be an educated buyer- be willing to travel for potential auction wins! Resellers will often triple or more prices that they win in their antique booths.
Oh I love an antique shop 😊 my husband isn’t really interested at all so I don’t get to look in them very often 🤷♀️, but I love the fact that you have so many items from your grandfather, I have a chest of drawers, I think you call it a dresser in the US, anyway I have a chest of drawers that belonged to my great grandmother and I am one in a line of custodians looking after this piece 😊, it tends to go to whoever has a large enough home as it’s quite a big piece of furniture, and if you know anything about UK homes, they’re not as large as the homes you have in the US lol xx
I love watching your peaceful and lovely videos. I love thrifting as well. I just recently bought 2 Pfaltzgraff pitchers, a medium-sized for $2.99 and a small-sized for $1.99 at a Rescue Mission thrift store in NC. I almost squeeled when I saw them. Andrea, your own artwork you share with us is so beautiful.
We love to go to antique stores and thrift stores. My husband knows what I like so he always finds things and says what about this? The booths are so packed with stuff so sometimes I may miss something. But anyway your pieces are so beautiful and they go well in your home. Thanks for sharing your tips!
I love your videos. I have things that belonged to my granny, grandma and grandpa. I feel them with me.. I have my granny’s treble sewing machine. She taught me how to sew on it. It is so special to me. I have the old crock bowl of my great grannies. When I would visit he, she would always make homemade biscuits in that bowl and fried apples. I have this bowl in my kitchen and I feel her with me when I look at this bowl. I miss her.
I love seeing your antique stores in MI, ours here in CA are outrageously priced unfortunately. Any time we’re out of town I try to check the local antique stores so I can bring pieces home as a reminder of our trips.
Your home is dreamy and beautiful. If I had my way my home would be exactly like yours full of antiques however like you said pricey. I love your taste and shopping with you. Thank you for sharing it all.
You have a beautiful home and I loved the video. I was thrilled to find out about the German connection. I am originally from Germany and have lived in the US since the 70s.
❤❤the look back in time ...oh the pay off when you can spend a litte for that thing on your out in the wild list shopping list...looking forward to more of your stories..❤❤TU
Hey, Andrea. Your home is so beautiful and I love watching people comb through the antique stores and each person gravitates toward different items, You mentioned the blue and white, and I have an antique stoneware pitcher that belonged to my grandmother. It has an iris on it and she gave it to me a long time ago... I will never part with it, my grandmother and my mom put that love of old things in my mind... I have an antique buffet as well that my grandmother gifted to me when they were downsizing. They had set up housekeeping with it but she said through the years the dark walnut stain on the piece just got darker and darker, so she wanted to see the original color again, and there was a spot about the size of a dinner plate on the front door to the piece that was about the size of a dinner plate that was MUCH lighter when she gifted it to me, I was curious about the spot so I asked her, and she replied "well through the decades the piece along with the table and chairs just got darker and darker so one day I just sprayed some easy off over cleaner on it and that old black stain just wiped roght off". We both had quite a laugh but my sweet husband took that piece and had it lovingly refinished for me. We have been married 44 years and it is and always will be in my home... She gave it to me because she knew I would love it. Unfortunately she gave the dining table with 3 leaves and 8 chars to her sons wife, and it wasn;t "her style" so they kept it about 5 months and then set it out on the curb for the garbage pickup..
It’s wonderful to have these treasures passed down from generation to generation. It’s not just the pieces themselves, but the loving memories attached to each one! 😊
Hi Andrea, another wonderful video and just in time for me and my daughters Reading 📚 Thrift Store weekend in beautiful Southern Maine. We have another trip planned in May as her Mother's day gift to me. We're going to Hampton New York ( I'm a bit😂obsessed with Ina Garten) with a stop on our way home to Brimfield for their antique fare. I'm truly thankful and blessed to have such a wonderful daughter to go on adventures with. I'm sure your sweet Mum feels the same way about you. Have a lovely day. 🙏💛
Love everything! You have impeccable taste in color and decorating style. I collect heritage Pfalzgraff too and love the way it looks against unfinished wood. ❣️ Wonderful video!
I live in Ohio, and we have Scott's antique come into our fairgrounds. It's sad because people are selling stuff so pricey because it's in demand now. I couldn't leave without that armoire. Thank you for sharing! ❤❤❤❤
hey girl- love the video!🤗 enjoyed seeing all of the antiques. So cool! Always love seeing how your decorate your home. You have found some great finds-😉 Y'all have a blessed weekend🥰
Love the freeland antique mall. If you have never been to Sanford antique mall or Timberwood antique mall? It’s a bit more of a drive but definitely worth it. Also I’m a huge fan of the three malls in millington. Lots of options in birch run too, including the outlets now.
I love antiques and vintage, but i think the primitives are some of my favorite pieces too! I've seen some gorgeous pieces as you walked thru the booths, but the one that had all the primitives.. now i could have went overboard in there lol😄 I only own one piece of primitive furniture.. my husband surprised me with a primitive step back cabinet several weeks ago and i just am obsessed with it!! Its A big piece, with black chippy paint, she's a beauty😊 I love old quilts, they're gorgeous but they're so expensive! I lost my grandmother when i was just 21.. but I've often thought about all the things she had that i would now love to have. Of course they're gone now, not sure who got them🫤 And my granny, i lost her when i was in my teens and she was 95 then, born in the 1800s. I REALLY wish i could have gotten some of her things!! But its ok, I'll always have the memories💕 Love all your pieces, your home is beautiful. Thanks for sharing😊
I found your channel some time ago and enjoy your videos. You have such a cozy home. I ❤ it. And I sent you and your family many greetings from Schwerin in Germany.
I have a commode just like yours that I got at an auction. The basin and pitcher goes in the top and the chamber pot goes in the bottom. The little drawer probably held hand towels or soap. I just love mine. Circa 1889-1900. Common piece.
Dear Andrea, I’ve written to you before, I have German background and I know your connection to German things because of your husband. Please google a Spätzle press, hubby would maybe know what I’m talking about. Spätzle are so easy to make. You can serve as a side dish or a stand alone with bacon and cheese. I was thinking of it and then you showed the German booth! Hahaha, sending you best wishes from 🇨🇦❤️
Hello! That’s wonderful!!! So easy to make ! I’m the lady that also suggested putting a wooden cross by your entrance door by your tier baskets 😊, I just love watching your videos, you are so calm and such a lovely homemaker and mother! Sending you best wishes always ! ❤
I always look forward to your videos. I think I like antique stuff more than my wife. I don’t know if you have ever heard of the Brimfield Fair in Brimfield, Massachusetts. It happens three times a year for a week at a time. That’s a place you can really barter with the seller. There is no way you can get through it in a day. Take care, God bless.
Love all the pieces and how you incorporate them Into your cozy home . Can you please tell me the color of paint on the small table in your dining room . It is soothing and blends well . Thanks ! Sue
A vintage quilt for 165, not bad. Depends on condition and quality. If it is really well made. A small hole or stain just adds to the charm of something old and once used and handmade by someone a long time ago. So I've seen them for 2 or 300.00 or more for exceptional ones. To make a new one now is more than that and the time. Much rather have a vintage one with so much character
Hi Andrea. Perhaps I missed it but I was hoping you would share the name of the shops you visited and location. I was at a shop in Minooka yesterday and bought the most beautiful crock with a lid. I’m so excited. Thxs for sharing items you love💗💗💗 SM from Downers Grove
Andrea I love your home....it's beautiful. I was wondering what antique shops you were at? I didn't hear you mention the name or the area where they are located.
I love the coffee table... I know people have collections...but I never heard of collecting coffee tables..haha I think since I have been a subscriber this is your 4th change. Why would you apologise for having 4 boys who make their Mama Valentines art? These are the blessing of a beautiful life. Please don't apologise for little shoes or jackets or toys . They are the true trappings of life.
Hi! I want to add more antique kitchen utensils to my home. I was wondering what your tips are for cleaning/ sanitizing them after you bring them home? Thank you so much!
Do NOT be sorry for your kid’s art work. 😊 They add love to your space. My 5 yr old comes home from preK and she wants all her art displayed on each cabinet door 😂 I told her they stay a few days and we rotate them. I can’t cover each cabinet door 😂
I got lucky with my husband, too. He came from a mother that loved garage sales, and me a mother that loved diy and antique hunting. edit for: I just noticed you go into a room from your dining area, what is back that way? I don't think I have seen anything in that direction before. Thanks for sharing!
My husband and I love to go antique shopping together also. In our rural area they are few and far between. Over the last 30 years we have quite a collection of antiques which goes well in our home. We moved a country church over 30 years ago and made it into our home.
Congratulations for resisting the urge to buy things you don't need, or for which you have no place. Antique shopping is fun and so is thrifting. However, it is best to not over clutter your home. I believe items are highlighted more, if they aren't competing with too many other items around them.
Your kids' artwork makes your home even more precious 💕
My husband and I also love having a date day going antique shopping together. I love your finds throughout your home. Just beautiful. And don’t be sorry about your kids adorable artwork 😉
I agree!! Please don’t apologize for the boys sweet artwork ❤ It’s adorable and it’s part of who you are !!!! ☺️
Thank you! 😊
Love your home so much, Andrea!! You’re one of the first I started watching on YT when we bought our home to renovate. So much inspiration here!! ❤❤❤
This is what I love about your home. Your core is made of quality items. Good counter tops, nice cabinets great sink and stove. Then, the decor is thrifted. All the accents are affordable items. Love this concept ❤
Thank you! 😊
Wow that stove
I'm always really envious seeing how big thrift stores in US are 😅 I love seeing shelving dedicated for certain items, like baskets or frames 🤩
Love love love everything in your home. Just stunning. And love listening to you. Your voice is so relaxing.
I absolutely love your beautiful home. Every detail is so perfect. So warm, primitively elegant and cozy.
Thank you so much! 😊
I love the plant on your counter with the rustic pottery it is in, so perfect and nice and whispy.
I regularly watch your video.
Beautiful video. Thank you. Please don't apologize for your children's art work! If you feel the need to point out what it is that's great, but there is no need to apologize! It's adorable. I homeschooled my 3 children through 11th grade when they graduated and went on to college. The art work is the best!
I love flea markets. So much fun. I am 78 and still love to go. You have a beautiful home and family.
Stunning home. So peaceful and lovely. Antiques mix well with any style. That one shop had great primitives! Have a beautiful day!
Thank you so much! 😊
Some beautiful pieces.
My husband and I love doing this together too
Your home is GORGEOUS 😍 thank you for sharing your beautiful finds
Thank you so much! 😊
Just love your beautiful home! I love your use of antiques. They give warmth and great memories.❤
Asking parents/grandparents if they would pass down antiques is a GREAT idea! I am currently clearing our my parents' house after one died and one went to assisted living and lamenting the fact that 1. so many of the stories attached to these family heirlooms are gone and 2. I couldn’t agree more. It isn’t just the antique itself, it’s the loving memories and stories attached to it! 😊
What a lovely home it’s so tidy and you have children or child love the kitchen ❤that sink is lovely ❤🐨🦘
Hey Andrea! I love going thrifting and antique shopping with you! I wish I had your shopping control. You're a very wise woman for your age! You first say that you don't have a spot for it, I say I will find a spot for it! Depending on how bad I want it! You definitely have a lot of self control. Love watching you, Andrea! 🤍🙏👍
Same 😂😂
Your grandfather had great taste! I love that you get to care for them and enjoy them now 🤍
I love the beauty of the pieces that you picked out at the antique shops for your home.❤
As I always tell you, I love shopping with you and seeing all the pretty things you and Mike find. Thanks for sharing it! ❤🌹
Thank you! 😊
How wonderful!! 😊❤

Thanks! 😊

Lovely video. I never get tired of seeing your home. So beautiful! 🌷

Hahaha, sending you best wishes from 🇨🇦❤️
My husband actually sent me one from Germany! 😊❤
Hello! That’s wonderful!!! So easy to make ! I’m the lady that also suggested putting a wooden cross by your entrance door by your tier baskets 😊, I just love watching your videos, you are so calm and such a lovely homemaker and mother!
Sending you best wishes always ! ❤
merci pour cette vidéo c'est très joli 💓💓💓
Enjoyed
I always look forward to your videos. I think I like antique stuff more than my wife. I don’t know if you have ever heard of the Brimfield Fair in Brimfield, Massachusetts. It happens three times a year for a week at a time. That’s a place you can really barter with the seller. There is no way you can get through it in a day. Take care, God bless.
My mom has actually been to that! She loved it! 😊
Love all the pieces and how you incorporate them
Into your cozy home . Can you please tell me the color of paint on the small table in your dining room . It is soothing and blends well . Thanks ! Sue
I absolutely love the handles on your cabinetry , can you tell me where from ?
A vintage quilt for 165, not bad. Depends on condition and quality. If it is really well made. A small hole or stain just adds to the charm of something old and once used and handmade by someone a long time ago. So I've seen them for 2 or 300.00 or more for exceptional ones. To make a new one now is more than that and the time. Much rather have a vintage one with so much character
You have one of the most beautiful house in this platform 😘😍🥰❤
Thank you so much! ☺️
Hi Andrea. Perhaps I missed it but I was hoping you would share the name of the shops you visited and location.
I was at a shop in Minooka yesterday and bought the most beautiful crock with a lid. I’m so excited. Thxs for sharing items you love💗💗💗
SM from Downers Grove
Great video thank you loved it ❤
Thank you! 😊
I really loved this vlog! I wish I could find a similar antique store(s) here in Toronto but no such luck so far. Keep up the great work!
Thanks! 😊
Andrea, your home is lovely! Could you please tell me the name of the antique store where you saw the blue and white antique quilt? Thank you Kathy
I love your home!
I wash wood utensils with dish soap and very hot water. Anything that is dishwasher safe gets run through that as well. 😊
@@PineandProspectHome thank you!
PS. Have been searching for a noodle board like the one you showed/$100 to date (like you, I know it will show up in my price range. Elizabeth
Do NOT be sorry for your kid’s art work. 😊
They add love to your space.
My 5 yr old comes home from preK and she wants all her art displayed on each cabinet door 😂
I told her they stay a few days and we rotate them.
I can’t cover each cabinet door 😂
❤❤
I got lucky with my husband, too. He came from a mother that loved garage sales, and me a mother that loved diy and antique hunting.
edit for: I just noticed you go into a room from your dining area, what is back that way? I don't think I have seen anything in that direction before. Thanks for sharing!
That’s my boy’s bedrooms and the bathroom 😊
@@PineandProspectHome oh, I always thought they were upstairs. Now I think I understand the layout. Duh moment, haha!
My husband and I love to go antique shopping together also. In our rural area they are few and far between. Over the last 30 years we have quite a collection of antiques which goes well in our home. We moved a country church over 30 years ago and made it into our home.
That’s neat! 😊
