- It's been a while since I took you thrifting with me, and today I hope to share a simple video on how to be a thrifty homemaker. You don't need to spend a lot or have a high budget to decorate your home with beautiful pieces! In this video, I visit a couple of fun thrift stores and share the beautiful finds I've incorporated throughout my home.

I’m of the school of thought appreciating the individuality of our homes. Ways we use items, creating an environment that is as individual as our families. I love the cabinet concealing the television! And the rug upstairs for the same purpose. I wouldn’t want to buy a new frame television, just wait until you need a new one, and enjoy your creative ways. I also think the bedroom would look lovely and cozy with a wallpaper on that wall. (but I’ve always favored wallpapers) I really like the plaid of the ottoman 😊 We have a small framed painting of a barn behind our door, as you were playing with. If you did that a small oval something could be hung where you intend to wire a sconce. What a lovely relaxing tour. Thank you for inviting us into your home and sharing.
In my opinion, your cabinet is so much better than a frame TV. I think it is beautiful, unique and very much fits the cottage aesthetic. You have lovely taste!

I love how gracefully you move, how peacefully you do the tasks you need to, how carefully you even decorate your bread. Like every act is to honour Him.
Your tv cabinet is perfect and looks wonderful in your living room. Please don't change it. I'm several years older than you and I could kick myself for the many quick decorating decisions I've made over the years. Take your time so you can make the decisions that feel right for you.

You could add castors to the chairs in your bedroom to make them a couple of inches taller. Or even change the legs.

Thank you what a great idea! I really appreciate reading other peoples input. I loved the plaid of the ottoman and thought of getting home and finding it to high, how I’d be disappointed. I suppose this could be used for chairs and desks, or tables as well!

Tv wall cabinet is amazing for your home and style. Framed tv artwork is often has harsher colors than the softer colors in your decor. Something to consider. You’re home is lovely🏡

I like the cabinet cover for your TV. This is so unique to your home. Even though your TV may look like a picture over the fireplace at the end of the day it is still TV. Your home is lovely. I love the many special touches you and your husband have added to your home.❤️

I think what you have above your fireplace for your television is perfect for your home. I'd keep it if I were you. Love your home; am blown away by what you've done on a budget.
Your TV cabinet is so much more in keeping with the style of your home and your decorating aesthetic. Framed TV's are so trendy. And nothing is better than real framed art. It would be so simple to just layer one or two small pieces of art (like yours) against the cabinet... and just set it on the side built in while you watch TV. Literally takes a few seconds.When I see people using a razor blade to score their bread, I always think... wouldn't a tiny craft exacto pointed blade with a safety handle be better. I love the design of the bread. Looks absolutely yummmy! Unfortunately..... here in California, the thrift shop prices have gotten so high, it has taken all the fun out of thrifting. I am 73, so remember when it was an adventurous thrill of the hunt! I loved it!
I have to tell you - as someone who has basically white washed my whole apartment there is something so calming about it. You live beautifully! Cheers to that.
The frame tv is terrific. However, your cabinet is so charming and goes with your house so well , I’d keep it. ❤
That one throw with the trim would also make a good tablecloth. I use quilts as table cloths. Grandkids call them table blankets. 😊

I think a big plant in the corner and a floor lamp would look good at the chair end of the room. Maybe a couple of your paintings with a picture light above.
Absolutely love the cabinet for your TV! It probably keeps the TV idea out of your kids heads and also sends the message to them that the TV is not the most important part of that room! I absolutely love this!! ❤️
Cabinet is so unique and you need a lamp on your cabinet in the bedroom and some greenery. Of course my opinion only. You have great style.
The blankets are Perfect for the chairs! Adds so much texture and color and coziness! Also the ottoman looks really good there too just put it in the center of the chairs so that way whatever chair you sit in you can prop your feet up at!

Andrea, your home is a breath of fresh air no matter what season! As you opened the oven to remove the loaf of bread, I almost could smell the aroma of that fresh bread coming out of the oven! I could eat just fresh hot bread and good butter for dinner..... nothing better to me! You are definitely an inspiration to all of us! Former goodwill employee here. The company tells the employees constantly to raise the prices. It some cases things end up getting priced higher than retail. Target actually sells their overstock and returns to Goodwill, rather than donating them. Love your content!

I must express that your home is not small!!! I adore your home and definitely think your tv is better hidden!!! I happily got rid of my ugly time waster 5 years ago and have never looked back- it s personal choice of course! Your style s beautiful , I have thrifted most of my unique and beautiful belongings-they are the best finds! It gives your home panache and individuality! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🥰

The cabinet is beautiful .. frame TV is still an open space TV.. I will take the cabinet any day ! Lol not that I own a TV any longer .. it's been 8 years and I don't miss it all all🎉 😂😂😂

Beautiful home, the thrift finds make it even more charming and personalized. 25 cents each for the children’s book is amazing! I pay $2 a book at my local thrift stores.
I’ve been thrifting since I was about 18 and I’m 68 now, so for 50 years. Love browsing even as I’ve had to get pickier and get rid of some items for space. So much more unique and personal than big box items.
My grandmother had that exact type of wooden handled potatoe masher you have...oh that brought back so many wonderful memories!! Floral curtains in your bedroom would be beautiful.

I really like the cabinet that is over your fireplace. The artwork tv's, in my opinion, are trendy and will fade away eventually. Your cabinet is timeless and classy. Your home is lovely.
I like the cabinet around your tv. I think I like it better than a frame tv especially considering the cost of the frame tv. It looks finished and NICE. Makes the living room feel calm and relaxing.

I bought that set at JCPenneys years ago when i was barely 20. Those are the dressers my husband and i still use, 20 yrs later. I love the way you repainted them! Ive considered doing something like that myself and so to see the potential is really great! Thank you!

I was thinking as you were looking at the beds that I hope you don't ever feel bad about changing things in your home. It's okay to let things go for somethng else you may love. I'm sure whatever you give up will find a good home. Change can be refreshing.
In your bedroom, add a little bit of greenery for a little color that won't clash with your decor.

First of all, I want to thank you for your wonderful videos. Listening to your voice is so calming and I’ve come to really enjoy watching your videos at the end of my day as a way to slow down and relax.
I love the cabinet over the tv, I think the frames are ok but not as beautiful as that cabinet. And the cabinet is so much more fitted to the style of your home.
I also have the Heritage white dishes. My husband got me service for 6 with several serving pieces as an anniversary gift a couple years ago. Found them on marketplace. We love antiquing and thrifting for our home and get inspiration from your channel.

We went yesterday, finally had good luck, found some vintage copper pieces which I love for my kitchen, found some old can labels from Richmond VA, and cornmeal bags which will be framed. Picked up estate sales of a silver plated teapot serving set which will be painted, wooden goose, white pitchers n more. Getting rid of the farm stuff like the windmills, trucks, saying signs, going back to vintage n antiques.
I feel your pain about TV’s . My husband has a massive tv above our family room fireplace. I can’t justify the price for a framed tv.I can’t say anything because he tolerates all my decor in the rest of the house. 😂 Your cabinet for the tv is perfect, it really suits the space. ❤️📺
Suggestion on ottoman push out a bit and center between the two chairs, place a tray on top to hold your favorite beverage as you have quiet time.

I thrift everything and make it mine by up cycling it, sometimes I just find things I don’t have to do anything too. My home looks like a Home and Garden home. I can’t pay high prices anymore because I can find it for so little! Your home is beautiful!

I like the blue pillow on your couch. The tv cabinet that your husband built is a keeper. It goes so well in your home. You can always thrift a nice large piece of art or a mirror to hang up.
Your whole house/home looks just so calm and serene....you have my favourite colours of earthy simplicity and I loved that you have recycled pretty much all of your accessories and components for your home! I am so aware that there is so much waste that is made when people buy a new home and in both the homes that I have purchased in my life, I have tried to do all my refurbishing without creating more waste. I personally love this challenge not only of refurbishing on a budget, but also, being able to see the potential of a home and how I can achieve it at a low, "do it your self" cost before committing to it! It is amazing what treasures can be found second-hand! I live in the Scottish Highlands and we have a 'tip shop'. Anything too good to go to the tip goes to the tip shop and I have found AMAZING treasures for £1. It gives a home so much more character and is very good for planet Earth. I am very envious of some of the beautiful mixing bowls that can be found in the US.

I would stain the dry-sink darker, like the color of your bedroom beams. In the downstairs foyer, a black iron sconce or hanging barn lantern on the wall would work well with the black number hooks on the wall.
Just found your channel, I love the cabinet doors to hide the “black screen”, I’ve seen this in Country Home magazine only it was a country barn red!

I am an upstate NY transplant to TN, and i miss good thrift stores! The ones here are SO expensive, and they don't have great stuff all the time. I have many of the pfaltzgraff heritage pieces that i bought when we still lived in NY.

What a lovely video, it took me all day to watch it, I like to sit and watch your videos without interruption, but between the dog and husband here all the time it took me all day.. I miss days like this one too just clean, declutter and just have a day alone to clean. My husband and I are retired so I don't have a lot of days when he is not home. I love your home and videos.

Put a plant on the dry sink in your bedroom. The reason you’re focusing on the orange color is because there isn’t anything else over there to focus on but if you put a plant or a colorful vase/lamp on the dry sink it will give your eye something else to focus on.

Your thrift videos are my favorite! You can find so much good stuff at the thrift store. You just need to be patient and also keep a list of things you want/need so you can refer back to it when you thrift

I have a 43” frame tv in my living room and I love it even more than I thought I would. The artwork is so fun and I love the aspect of changing it seasonally! So expensive but it was worth it to me- especially because we have a huge window that would cause a glare but we don’t experience that with the frame tv because of the matte screen.
That being said- if I had the choice of your cabinet over the frame tv- I would choose your cabinet! It’s unique and so gorgeous! Your home inspires me so much!

We own the frame and absolutely love it!! People standing directly in front of it, have no clue, even when we say that’s a tv, they say where, and that’s when I switch it from a picture, to tv, and they’re shocked lol. We upload our own art, either things I find online, and even our own family photos. I’m always changing it with the seasons and moods. We have a beautiful wood looking frame around ours, that is super lightweight, and if you held it that’s the only way you know it wasn’t real wood. I do love your cabinet however, it suits your home. Your home is beautiful!!
