iLoud Micro Monitors from IK Multimedia make some big claims. I couldn't find a better priced better spec on paper set of monitors though. Especially with the form factor and super low space profile. Lets set up and test out these ik multimedia speakers.
They retain a pretty linear frequency response too, which is impressive on speakers that look small enough to have been bundled with a Tiny TM computer back in the day #throwback.

I have to say i spent the weekend listening to music and my mix's on them an the midrange to high detail is spot on. They get decent level and because of the size being so small its easy to have them that ft or so away from the wall so remaining very directional. Im going to miss having stupidly loud low end at my call but i dont actually need nor really benefit from it because it isnt accurate anyway, So always needs cross check in an analyser and headphones.

HI, I am coming very late to this video. I was listening to with my headphones and I am impressed with what the iLouds can deliver for the size and price and now I need help as I am on the fence for a pair of studio monitors for my video editing set up/studio (which is very tiny, about 1.5 meters by 50 cm, I moved my closet and install my desk in the closet area) in my house and I was looking at Tannoy Gold 5, Yamaha HS5, Adam Audio T5V and the iLoud Micro and I just want to get one pair of monitor for many many many years to come/one and done. My ears are not trained for Audio Editing at all as I am mainly a Wedding Photographer and now in this country I moved in I do commercial and real estate video as well and I am needing to edit audio and learn and train my ears and I want something that works for me in the range of $500 max. Please let me know your thoughts and recommendations. Bests regards from a Venezuelan viewer in Panama!

I tested these speakers in my studio. What I have basically retained is that the sound is really neutral and very beautiful to listen to. The three faults that I retained when mixing with these speakers ... the big cable that connects them is stupid, it is very rigid and therefore not great for placing the speakers well with precision. My mixes sounded good in the car but lacks body, because with these speakers we tend to open up the sound too much, also for stereo, I don't have this problem with my HS7 or my RP5. And last point, it's very difficult to adjust an equalizer with precision on these speakers. In short, they are great for listening to a final mix or mixing while traveling, but not the best for mixing with precision in your home studio.

Keep in thought that these speakers were intended for touring musicians on buses or trains, hotels, etc. They will not come close to a decked out pair of monitors like focal shape or the ones by genelec. However, for their size, price, and portability they are perfect for a beginner producer in a very small space with no stable income. If you are at a friend's house, or you have no choice but to go to a public studio (some libraries actually have AV and music production rooms. Then yes, these would be the perfect match. However, I'd say if you need a pair of reference monitors with an already full fledged studio, these are great as well. If you know how to mix on headphones, then these would be a perfect pair together because you can use the ilouds as a reference and the headphones for more detailed mixes.
