- ( www.TFLtruck.com ) Watch the 2015 Chevy Colorado Debut at the Los Angles Auto Show. The 2015 Colorado will launch with two engines, two cab configurations, and two bed lengths in the fall of 2014. Great news is that a four-cylinder Duramax diesel engine will be available as well! The not so great news is that we will need to wait until early 2016 to see the 2.8-liter VM Motori sourced turbo diesel.

Can't wait for this to be released, and am excited about the diesel option, and am so glad they didn't use the front end off the test mule roman and Nathan came across. Keep it up Chevy
I'm waitin' for the diesel!!!
That 2.8L Duramax sounds so sweet!
Found my truck, was going to get a Tacoma but this is way more slick
Im most interested in the 2.8l Duramax.
I like the wheels and tires
Its...............beautiful!! The turbo diesel is gonna be awesome.
Definitely better looking than the Tacoma and Frontier.
Looks awesome
By the way, I think Chevy's hit a home run with this Colorado. Bye bye antiquated 4-speed auto; hello 6-speed auto with the 2.5L I-4, and with 3.6L V6 -- look out Tacoma and Frontier. Won't come to showrooms until next fall...
Don't forget that diesel :D
Hopefully my '01 Jeep Cherokee holds out until 2020 so I can buy a 5 year old used diesel Colorado...that's my plan at least!
That truck looks amazing can't wait too see the real deal!
Looks good!
that diesel is getting me excited
I would totally buy it
Very nice looking truck. I would give it some thought if I was buying another truck.
WOW. Looks Good!!
Column shifter. Must have column shifter lol. It's not a deal breaker, but I prefer them to console shifters when it comes to trucks. Anyhow, I am loving this thing! I want a truck, but don't want or need a full sized pickup. Recently rented a new Silverado and really enjoyed it! If the Colorado is all the good things about its bigger brother wrapped in a smaller and more nimble package, I'll be waiting in line for one of these. Plus a diesel option! Are you effing kidding me?!?! That's sick!! If I can get a diesel Colorado with 4WD for somewhere around $25k, OMG!
lol... I let my aunt drive my Tacoma and she kept trying to shift it with the wiper control. I was afraid she'd break it off.
Oh no! Hahaha!
Looking forward to the duramax!
that is one sweet looking truck i hope i can get my hands on one when it comes out
The best!!!!
St. Louis my home town yeah
Wow, that's a hundred times nicer than the Colorado that's been around for the past decade or thereabouts, haha! I like it...no, I love it!
Looks cool liking the insides the silverado half look is nice
I like the front end on this better than what we get in Australia, I see people asking about the numbers well the 2.8 diesel we have here has 147kw and 500Nm in 6 speed auto and can tow 3.5 tonne and a combined fuel consumption of 8.1 litres per 100 km, which i think works out at 197hp 368ftlb 7700lb 29mpg if i used the right conversion.
That's a handsome looking truck and it comes in a diesel! Hopefully this will encourage other auto companies to make more mid sized diesel truck. Good job Chevrolet!
nice i want one!
reminds me of those gmc sonomas, good work trucks!
Xenon head lamps & I'm sold.
I think that Diesel will be pretty cool. cant wait
The front looks like their cars and the cab reminds me of the tundra
would be sick if it had the 5.3!
I absolutely love what GM has been doing lately with the new impala, silverado, ss, and colorado. They are really stepping it up#
wait until they offer the new trailblazer, now that will make them have the best line up.
I think this truck looks great and will do great as well. I hope to have my car paid off by the time the diesel is available and I will get one of these.
Wow what a great looking truck! After some bad experiences with GM I swore I would not go back but this truck looks great inside and out and the motor choices are excellent. Near 200hp from a 2.5L 4 cylinder.. Tacoma V6 is only 230hp from a 4.0L. Great work GM, thank you listening to customers and giving them what they want. Now, if you can prevent prices from sky rocketing you'll have Toyota killer.
I love it!!! I can't wait for it to be release. I'm positive I will purchase one in Diesel with 4 wheel drive ...
Tacoma is where it's at and has always been. Design and reliability.
the GMC canyon version should be interesting. cant wait to see it.
Finally! A company that is willing to put a diesel in a smaller pickup.
Take that, Toyota! You're too chicken to bring your diesels over here..
wow, great looking little truck, im sure it will be better than the current frontier and the tacoma, looking foward to seeing a full review!
Its got strong points, and week points. But I don't think it will beat the tacoma, but I think it will compete hard!
Finally! A good looking capable truck with a v6 option. No more crappy 5 cylinder.
I will get one of these since Ford has failed to replace the Ranger.
Coming from a Ford guy, this truck looks sweet! Hopefully it will be available in a manual transmission too
It looks great! Its just the frontier and the tacoma hasnt been updated yet, and when it does Im pretty sure it will be competitive or if not better.
If only they would develop a turbo 2.5L and give a 6speed manual option. I believe a turbo I4 would kill in this segment. Well tuned it would more than keep up with the 6 cylinder competitors. Diesel though, sounds like that will be a kick ass little truck.
I only wish they differentiated the Silverado 1500 & HD styling because they know how to design lots of great looking trucks
What do we want? Diesel and a 6 speed manual! When do we want it? ASAP!
I'm actually pretty excited for this. The small truck market has been neglected too long.
Holy Crap. Did he say 2.8L Diesel?
WOO, they listened. A diesel.
build the traverse or equinox on this! we need small suv's again!
If the fuel economy numbers are good this will likely sell well.
I currently own a more recent tacoma and I have never looked at the Colorado as in option until seeing this one. Just looking at it and hearing about the diesel option just makes me want to trade my small pick-up any day of the week for this one.
One problem though, I feel like the tacoma is going to remain the best selling mid-sized because of its price. Knowing chevy, they might price this truck, stock, a couple thousand more than the contenders.
IF only i could afford this
windows behind him took a lot of visual aesthetics
I had a 2004 Colorado and I think I would buy one of these in a heartbeat - If the price is not ridiculous. I have heard though that us Canadians are getting gouged by higher sticker prices though, why? because we are dumb enough to pay the higher prices!
Not so much. The difference between GM vehicle in the States and Canada are minimal, especially compared to other manufactures. Often if there is a difference in MSRP there are a) credits to counter b) finance rates that Americans don't recieve or c) different base equipment (Canadian Equipment Package). We do, however, pay about $700 more for shipping (which is understandable) as our transport networks are more stretched out and less extensive; Think Victoria B.C. to Nunavut to St. John's NL
CBC News looked at the relative prices of 24 models made in Ontario by the five big automakers - Ford, GM, Chrysler, Honda and Toyota - and found that in 18 cases, the models cost thousands of dollars more to buy in Ontario than in the United States, including Hawaii. The price disparity might tempt Canadians to make a run for the border to pick up a new vehicle, but consumer advocate Rob Lamb says most U.S. dealers will not sell to Canadians."If you're a U.S. dealer you're not going to sell a brand-new car to a Canadian and that's it, and if you do you'll lose your licence, you'll be penalized. So dealers across the states are not selling new cars to Canadians," said Lamb.
All of this has been stated in a news article where the CBCNews did an investigation and we are just being led around blind and told we have to pay more for delivery and special Canadian features on vehicles but it's all bull.
2.8L duramax, I sense an ike gauntlet test when that engine is finally released
The Colorado looks so much better.
the upcomming nissan frontier has a v-6 turbo intercool diesel 550 torque
Too bad they didn't bring the Holden Colorado that they used for testing but its still nice next all they need it to bring the blazer or trailblazer (Holden Colorado 7) here.
Too many awesome trucks coming out. The new chevy/gmc 1500, Colorado, Ram ecodiesel..
It looks good I would like to know towing and payload numbers. ..and is going to have regular cab 8 foot bed???
Love how they poke fun at other brands during the video, the forest ranger for the ford ranger, the ram for the Dakota and the passing of the Nissan frontier.
I thought that was funny, but it's not like it's hard to be better than the competition. That's like being the smartest kid in the special needs class.
I like the boxiness of the old colorado design better nut this definitely looks more aggressive.
I really was hoping the new ecotec 4.3 would be in the new Colorado, I guess they have a reason though. Hopefully there will be a lot aftermarket support for these motors in the coming years.
Excited to see how it compares to the tacoma. I hear alot of complaints about the colorado not having the ecotec3 4.3 6cyl, but the 3.6 looks like its boasting plenty, already more that the tacoma with less. Still will be an interesting matchup
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm dying to see the MPG's on this truck with all the engines.
Take my money!!
Hope they offer some interesting colors, 4 WD and 4 wheel disc brakes.
so far i'm impressed, the styling is nice although i am still warming up to the swooping rear cab and some of the interior. Doesn't seem like they changed the gearing much from other versions of the 3.6l, for fuel economy reasons i'm assuming. Still only has a few foot pounds more torque than the current gen tacoma and even less than the frontier, seems they could have balanced the HP and torque numbers more but maybe they were afraid of infringing on the Silverado V6 numbers. As many improvements have been made i doubt they'll ever match the re-sale value of my Tacoma which is why i could never buy a domestic off the showroom floor. Still it's going to be an intriguing option once it hits the market.
finaly a south american version of the s10 big size truck!
The side windows shouldn't get that small for the back windows. Other than that, it's great
That's one smart looking truck. I just wish Ford had kept on with the North American production of the Ranger.
This new Colorado looks like the toyota Tacoma!!! Hopefully this truck will make toyota step up the game, also I won't mind seeing a shoot out between the mid size trucks!!!! I still think the toyota Tacoma still have the midsize segment though
Can't wait to see this on the Ike gauntlet
Nice, should be pretty cheap seeing that the Silverado starts at $25,000. I have a dodge Dakota so I wish dodge would bring that truck back as well.
kicks the shit out of the old model
Lol, The Cops badge said "Ranger"
If that thing didn't have a Chevy logo on the front and i saw it on the road I would have been like "huh must be the new tacoma"
I miss the Dakota.
Like the option of the diesel. But why late 2015-2016 but v6 will still be good for 300hp.
Looks like the Tacoma
All chevy needs to do is offer an ss version with a 5.3 v8 or the v6 with a turbo. Paired with a 6 speed manual.. that would make this colorado a cool mid-sized truck.
2.8l diesel.... sick.
Good job GM, your doing something right.
Ford needs to learn from this and the dodge 1/2 ton diesel.
Diesel. Thank goodness. Now which company is going to be first to put a small-ish (not the massive diesel mills in the 1-ton class) diesel in a 1/2-ton? Fleet owners and most non-tradesmen truck owners would enjoy the fuel economy and a bit of extra grunt when towing.
The tacoma and frontier can crush this Colorado like nothing
I'm interested in the v6 mpg and 2.8 diesel...and prices...
Not trying to put it down though it's still a nice truck.
The tacoma better watch out!
I have to say that for a midsize truck that looks like a wonderful choice as a competitor to nissan and toyota. Now if we can get the goverment out of chevy I might buy one.
Your in luck the US government is selling off the last of the stock as I type. So go get one!!
I don't see it beating the Tacoma. Toyota will be redoing that truck very soon too!
turbo diesel ..... THE ONLY WAY i will not buy this truck is if toyota puts a diesel in the tacoma... which won't happen soon. THIS TRUCK WAS MADE FOR ME! so many people want a capable camper/ utility truck that isn't huge. Diesel quality and capability in torque and gas mileage. I want a truck that will last me until cars fly. I don't care if maintenance is more. THANK GOD SOMEONE is listening! #+1USA
really nice looking truck, but the claim that it's better than the others in the segment really isn't saying much, considering the age of the frontier and tacoma. I do give Chevy credit for maintaining it's stake in this segment though, unlike Ford and Ram.
they need to bring that diesel engine out quicker...
I would buy the diesel version of this right now. I wonder what made them bring this back to the US. I think that ford had reported that the market for this size truck had dropped something like 70%.
Ford lost their market because THEY NVR UPDATED THE RANGER!!! And they wonder why they had no more sales....
Have to agree. No way Chevy prices the diesel version for less then 40K+. Only available in top trim models.
I hope this motivates Ford to bring back the ranger. Because in 2016 I will probably trade my F150 for that diesel Colorado. I do not need to tow 11,000lbs nor do I like driving a yacht either. I miss my ranger!
woman drive small trucks.
Patrick Connolly and men with a small penis drive lifted trucks. We can do this all night.. What's your point?
*****
....So what your saying is you drive a lifted truck?
He neglected to mention that people from Colorado will be getting a free sample.
Whoever said the frontier will get a 550foot torque diesel is wrong that is the Titan and the Titan is only getting 450 torque at most
probably got their units mixed up, we can get a nissan navara with a 3.0l diesel with 550Nm in australia
